Question for the car people

So I drive a 2003 Pontiac sunfire (I fucking hate my car it's a stupid worthless piece of scrap pile junk yard shit) and I seem to have a cooling problem. When I stop the car the temperature gauge slowly goes up and won't go down. This is only if I'm stationary with the engine running. Like if I'm stuck in traffic or some shit. When the cars moving the gauge stays right where it should. So how fucked am I? Be honest.

Sounds like the cooling fan honestly, could also be low coolant. Check that when it's cold, both in the radiator itself and in the overflow reservoir.

The fan is a different story, have the car fully warmed up and turn on the A/C... see if the fan is running. If it isn't, check fuses or the relay, which should be under the hood.

I swear to God I'll cry tears of joy the day I don't have to drive it again

I don't think you have a major issue here. More than likely the fan. Check that first and check your water/coolant levels. Have you noticed any coolant leaking? If so, be sure to carry a milk jug or two full of water with you when you venture out til you get it fixed.

As others have said, suspect the fan belt.  Check the belt where it would rub against the pulleys - if it's shiny, it needs replacing.

Also, dead critters (or pedestrians) in the grill can impede airflow through the radiator - remove them.

Electric fan... front wheel drive car

Yes sir, it was awesome. I enjoy things like that. I used to work with a man named Rob Springer. He was in several low budget, straight to dvd movies. He also had a bit role in the movie Tammy. I am also friends with William Tokarsky, who was in the new Jumanji movie. It's very cool to see people you know, or sort of know, in the entertainment business. Wish you nothing but the best with it. It was great.

Thanks dude I really appreciate that. Honestly I gotta thank the crew. This shoot went smoothly because of them. I just pretended to be confused after he said action lol. I'll make sure to tell the director that people on the board liked it. And seriously I appreciate you watching. Indie filmmakers need all the support they can get!
