Bacon is excellent for catching catfish. I have used it myself. I've never been salt water fishing, but I have caught catfish with bacon, and chicken livers.

*side note

I'd keep a list of locations I'd like to go fish at in my lifetime.  I want to go to Egypt and fish the Nile for those massive perch, and I want to visit Vietnam for cheap hookers to fish for those massive Mekong Catfish

Guilty. I have wasted bacon on catfish. I have also used chicken liver. I don't even like catfish myself, so when I've ever been catfishing, I would use bacon or chicken livers, to make sure I caught enough for whomever was going to be eating them. Folks down this way, go crazy for catfish stew. 

I am more of a bream fan myself.

My favorite fish is flounder, but I've never been salt water fishing.

I'd rather fish the Nile for perch, than Vietnam for catfish.

We have a major river behind our house, and there's ponds and lakes all over the place. I haven't been fishing in a while, but I am looking to start back next year, seeing that my son is of age to start fishing now. 

Also thinking about doing some deer and duck hunting this year. Haven't been hunting in a while either.

I live about 3 miles from the Arkansas river, and there are a ton of lakes around so I got plenty of fishing spots to pick from.

I'm not big on hunting, I'm not against it by any means I just think Deer are way too cute for me to shoot. 

I will say I enjoy the hell out of their meat though!

Deer hunting is the most boring thing on the planet to me. But we don't hunt for sport like a lot of hunters do. We love the meat. We have our own processing facility here at the house. We hunt in the back field. Then can skin and process them right here. 

Duck hunting is actually quite fun. Their meat is delicious.

Sweet! I envy you and I don't envy you, because if I had that kind of access to bacon, they'd have to knock down a wall to get my fat ass out the house. Bacon + Me = No self control.

I regulate my habits by giving it away... like last weekend I was camping with about 20 people... brought a 5lb pack and told everyone to have at it xD

We buy a lot of hog jowl. I smoke it, then slice it and fry it. Disco makes homemade bread and coleslaw. I make bbq sauce and we make one hell of a good sandwich with it. Disco might have a picture of it on her facebook page, I'm not sure.

I haven't posted the brisket I smoked on the Food folder yet. I actually do need to make myself a smoke pit. That bacon I told you about? I used to run the smokehouses the bellies were smoked in xD 5 large smokehouses. I have a knack for it.

Brisket is the bomb. We smoke those too. We smoke London Broil and make roast beef sandwiches too. Fuck I am hungry.
