I can't believe this show, which has been over for a while, is still getting new GIFs on the tumblr, while CURRENT show Black Clover hasn't gotten a GIF on the Tumblr since like Episode 28 way back on JUNE 30TH!

tbh I never liked Voltron as a kid and I only gave this one a chance because it was made by (some of) the same team as ATLA and Legend of Korra

their current claims are that they planned for him to be gay but decided to make him straight when they assumed he was going to die....then reverted to their original plan to make him gay when Toei told them they could let Shiro Live in their adaption

I refuse to believe that and I believe them making him gay was a last minuet choice at reviving interest in the show by giving the fans begging for LGBT representation what they've been asking for since episode one

they confirmed he was once engaged to be married to another man named Adam....they say however that the show never uses the word "Gay" to describe his and Adam's relationship so as to not "invalidate headcanons of him being bi or pan"

you always play a man in Dream Daddy, you can choose what gender your ex was thus making your PC gay or Bi by implication

however the game (IMO) is actually a very thinly veiled daddy-kink joke

it says you can date all seven single dads, but you can't, you can date 5, one of the dads flat out uses you and dumps you for his wife after sleeping with you, and then another one tells you even though he likes you you're too good for him and refuses to date you anymore

also there's other things about the game that bugged me but if I go too far into detail It'd get monotonous

I actually don't like the gamegrumps as much as I used to....not entirely because of Dream Daddy but partly also because they seem increasingly like sell outs

 

like how they used to claim all sonic games were wretched (even if they liked them) then bent over backwards to praise Sonic Mania because sega paid them to give it a positive review, I can guarentee if Sega had not cut them a check they'd have said it sucked like they ALWAYS do when they play any other Sonic game

it's been censored: in the clip shown at Sandiego Comicon, Adam and Shiro are confirmed to be lovers in the Scene

with Adam saying they'd been partners for years and saying he can't go through Shiro getting himself hurt before dumping him

 

on Netflix he says they've been "FLIGHT Partners for years", and says Shiro and him are just good friends

but someone has now confirmed to me that there are TWO VERSIONS of the episode with Shiro's boyfriend adam

both of which are available on the US version of Netflix and you can influence which one you get by changing the audio settings

in one version Shiro and Adam are platonic and just friends and in the other they are a gay couple

Voltron is cool as a robot design but I never really liked the show as a kid.  Compared to Transformers it was basic as fuck.  The other shows you mentioned were more fun and interesting too.  Also, Robotech, that blows Voltron out of the water.

dunno how accurate this is but it's apparently currently accepted as fact my most of the fanbase

 

supposedly some of VLD's animation and writing staff and voice cast have now gone rogue and thrown Dreamworks under the bus saying that the original plan for season 7 was to NOT have Adam die but Dreamworks twisted their hands and said they'd only let them confirm Shiro was gay if they had it be something from the past that could not resurface in the future in series

I.e. they said they'd only let Shiro be gay if he was gonna remain celibate and never reunite with Adam

 

there's now petitions demanding Dreamworks allow the show to have an actual LGBT romance subplot in it's final season

I'm straight up not watching ANY Giant robot shows for a while...I mean unless Toonami gets another Gundam show....then I'd watch just outta Bile fascination

 

 

also worth noting that IBO had a Gay character and DIDN'T kill him

though they did Kill the (much too old for him anyway) Heterosexual guy he had a crush on

(one of the writers also confirmed that Kudelia and Atra are Bi and ended up as a Lesbian couple after Mikazuki died....it's why the final episode ends with Kudelia going to Atra's house...she wasn't visiting Atra she was literally just going home to her wife and son)

the show tends to have more exposition an naval gazing than it does Battles, which would be fine....except the majority of the Naval gazing was meant to push fan ships, like the fact that lance and Keith's dynamic was almost the same as Naruto and Sasuke's...within reason (keith wasn't a mass murderer like Sasuke is), and after season 6 the voice cast started OPENLY STATING that they were implying a ship between Keith and lance on Purpose

 

then season 7 suddenly has keith hate Lance's guts and be horrible to him for no reason and makes him suddenly fall in love with a girl who might be his sister...and LITERALLY kills the one gay relationship they were allowed to confirm
