put on ff:xv again.

15 minutes into the 'tutor' and...

its a big nope from me

so much shit to remember.

i have doom. not sure if i want to get into that yet.

'for fans and first timers'

pfft

I literally just button mashed my way through that game and still have no idea how the combat system really worked

I never said anything about it because I thought I was the only one confused by it

i mean, just the 'magic' bit itself, was almost if not more confusing than 'eternal darkeness' (nintendo cube), which took me

quite a bit of time through the game to master, and even then starting the game over to work out the kinks.

but the fight movements, and mp status, and just, ugh, too much. i don't mind a challenging game, but a finger orgy to just parry and hit, eh.

Lol. And I find modern games boring for certain types of hand-holding. I spent 10 minutes not being hit in a damage recovery tutorial to see if anything happened.

yeah, well, i kind of needed this tutorial, because it doesn't even closely resemble anything FF.

I had a similar reaction when I tried to play Crisis Core. The game just throws you into a fight with no idea what you're actually doing, and by the end, you're even more confused about every mechanic they tried to explain or introduce.

well, my only other options are until i get ac:odyssey:

black ops 3 ~ which...eh, i mean, i guess.

doom ~ i know this will piss me off. i was boss on the pc. loved it 1-3. (although 2 was a pain in the arse, and 3 was just, kind of weird)

unravel ~ that i put on hold to play ac:origins, and will have to start over to remember the game play.

there's a couple that i started and was not impressed: evil within, uncharted, the order, and bloodbourne.

also wolfenstein, but i couldn't play that game because of the visuals.

I hear ya, I miss old school turn based FF combat

I remember playing Eternal Darkness..... I was like 15 and playing it at 1 am and the "crazy" meter got too high so my character randomly just snapped in half mid torso and I was "WTF"

i'll admit, there were some funky cold madina shite happening. it wasn't too terrible, once you had the magic shit under control.

i played a few times, picking a different 'color'  i never made it to the end though, because i never could use the telescope thing.

i was getting close though. i think.

Can never bring myself to play that game for too long. I can fight well enough that most battles are trivial...either for me or the mob I pulled. The camera can be pretty irritating when you try and lock-on to an enemy, though.
