Thinking of pulling a Zeni and calling off work on Friday

It's my weekend off so I could make it a three day weekend. Probably more trouble than it's worth though, I'd have to go to minute clinic to get a doctor's note, also they look at people that call off before or after their days off and if you do it too much you can get written up for "pattern abuse".

I'm still waiting to start back to work my company just got bought out and had a major shift in administration.

I hate twiddling my thumbs in the mean time, but I don't have anything else to do except look for a better job.

Which I've been doing.

Are u still getting paid

i cant call out anymore...got like 4.25 points...reach 7 you're termed. i had extremely bad anxiety when i started and left early a lot.

they let us take unlimited unpaid time off tho as long as its approved in advance. i have 2.5 days off next week.

We don't have points or anything like that. It's a state job so it's really hard to get fired. Like really hard. Like a dude broke a client's leg due to an improper restraint and he's still here they just retrained everyone on proper restraints. So even if they suspect you of pattern abuse you would just get told not to do it again.

We basically have unlimited unpaid time off too though depending on what the coverage is like on any given day it may or may not be approved. You can use unpaid leave as sick time but if you call off with less than 28 hours sick time you need a doctor's note.

just do it!

But is it worth the $25 and the hour at minute clinic to get a note? Also if I'm still here and on 2nd shift come Thanksgiving I am calling off on Thanksgiving day so I'd rather not start with the pattern abuse now.

It's a residential facility for people with disabilities. But like half our clients are "forensics" clients who are accused of committing a crime but were deemed incompetent to stand trial. So sometimes it feels like a prison.

could always work in IT. it sometimes feels like dealing with people with disabilities but with a better paycheck

I make decent money and get good benefits since it's for the state but I would like to not be stuck working evenings, weekends, and holidays.

i'm working from home friday probably because i am le tired

I'm thinking about meandering that direction, and honestly the job I'm working isn't far from it, but I don't have IT experience and I still need some credits to finish my associates so I'm not sure if it'd do me any good to apply for IT positions.

I mean operating UAVS, disconnecting cable, and collecting equipment from people that don't even know what an HD box is half the time has to count for something though..
