Rogue_Alphonse Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 in the 80's and 90's. But I have managed to modify a Chevy cup holder and put it in place of the useless ash tray with a missing door. And those buttons? BUTT WARMERS! (Yes its a mess, I am still working on it.) 2
Sieg67 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 I had an 84 ranger and an 83 Volvo that didn't have cup holders. The Volvo didn't even have a passenger side mirror.
fuggnificent Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 hey rogue is it possible to get a thicker steering wheel put in my car? thick s.w.s seem more luxurious.

Ford completely re-designed the interior in 1987 to add ANOTHER ash tray and a FOLDING ARMREST but nooooo cup holders

No, and too thick of a steering wheel or a steering wheel cover is annoying and unsafe. 1

Hornshire Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Growing up, none of Our family's vehicles had integrated cup holders. We always had those plastic ones you insert in the windows; that's still what We think of when someone says cup holder.

They only worked in certain door shapes, though, if the panel was slightly too thick, it would be angled and it wouldn't hold the cup. Or they were really flimsy and would break and your shit would spill all over and then your mom yells at you 1

That's why you use those coosies. Protects the junk from both unsightly condensation and accident-induced circumcisions.

Also, duct tape a cup big enough to snugly hold a can to your handlebars.

Looks like you did a seamless job. Also, the stereo looks nifty. Bet it puts out the boom.

It was a lot of cutting, trimming, and test fitting. But the end result is a snug cup holder that I can remove to clean. Also that stereo used to put out the boom but I may have ruined the rear speakers thanks to Black Sabbath at 100mph with the top down. It's nice though, Bluetooth and Pandora compatible, and it gets FM HD! 1

A decent set of coaxials would only run about seventy bucks.

I actually am going to build boxes that hold the speakers behind the interior panels to improve sound and prevent that from happening. Right now they're 6x9's held to a plastic grille, which is clipped/screwed to the plastic floppy interior panel. It was a last-minute design for the 90-93 Convertibles to include rear speakers. Bitches.
