I had an 84 ranger and an 83 Volvo that didn't have cup holders.  The Volvo didn't even have a passenger side mirror.

79-82 Mustangs only had a driver's and rearview mirror as well as 0 cup holders. Ford completely re-designed the interior in 1987 to add ANOTHER ash tray and a FOLDING ARMREST but nooooo cup holders xD

my dad had those window cupholders for his coffee.

I remember having some of those things.  They only worked in certain door shapes, though, if the panel was slightly too thick, it would be angled and it wouldn't hold the cup.  Or they were really flimsy and would break and your shit would spill all over and then your mom yells at you

Hold your drink between your legs like a civilized caveman.

Use a coosie.

And I don't have one of those. I have a boys bike because the high bar doesn't scare me.

Coozies get dirty and wet too.

I had a broken out, unused ash tray with a missing door. perfect place to put a cup holder!

Also, duct tape a cup big enough to snugly hold a can to your handlebars.

in the 80's and 90's. But I have managed to modify a Chevy cup holder and put it in place of the useless ash tray with a missing door.

And those buttons? BUTT WARMERS!

(Yes its a mess, I am still working on it.)

Looks like you did a seamless job.  Also, the stereo looks nifty.  Bet it puts out the boom.

It was a lot of cutting, trimming, and test fitting. But the end result is a snug cup holder that I can remove to clean.

Also that stereo used to put out the boom but I may have ruined the rear speakers thanks to Black Sabbath at 100mph with the top down. It's nice though, Bluetooth and Pandora compatible, and it gets FM HD!

I can always condone blasting Black Sabbath so loud it ruins your speakers.

As long as you're talking about a pair of 6x9's, speakers aren't really very expensive any more.  A decent set of coaxials would only run about seventy bucks.

I actually am going to build boxes that hold the speakers behind the interior panels to improve sound and prevent that from happening. Right now they're 6x9's held to a plastic grille, which is clipped/screwed to the plastic floppy interior panel. It was a last-minute design for the 90-93 Convertibles to include rear speakers. Bitches.
