I found the form (I think it was a 1099 not a W2) online and got $72 back when I filed it. So if your state is the same way then no, they won't care but you'll just be screwing yourself out of money. Probably not jail, but if they decide to audit you can face fines and penalties. Wait until the 31st, if you still don't have it then contact the welfare office and request a copy. Worst case scenario, you just file for an extension, which will be granted pretty much automatically, and you end up waiting until September to get your tax return.
