It's about that time

The time that, if they're going to try to make me work third shift, they're going to be calling. For the next two hours or so.

Take ur bets, guys, will they try to mandate me? If they do, what will happen when I refuse? Will they fire me? Suspend me? Take back my permanent position? Do nothing because they actually understand that some people have lives and families and don't want to work 2pm on Christmas Eve until 6am Christmas Day and then have to come back at 2pm on Christmas Day?

I'm at work right now tho. I don't think they can mandate you when you're not on the clock. I've heard rumors that they can or are going to make it so you can be but I never answer when they call if I'm off unless I want the OT.

What even is this hell hole of place you work in?

It's a residential facility so someone always needs to be here. Sometimes they don't have enough staff to cover a shift and need to mandate people. There's probably a better way to do it so that people get more than an hour notice when they get mandated but what do I know.
