the cab company i drove for went out of business

there were no calls from midnight to 6AM almost everyday.  they would have five drivers parked,

freezing in the winter, or just wishing they had a better job in the warm weather.

there was a lot of crap that came with that job, so like most change, im accepting it as a good thing.

im glad they closed the doors.  i wish everyone luck there, and im sorry they

lost their jobs, some of them have been drivers for 25 years, so yeah good luck and i hope they find another place to fit in.

the company was apparently losing money for the past

few years.

That's the cost of maintaining a full-time fleet. Uber revolutionized with the part-time, flexible fleet, but the way they lobbied states to create a part time commercial insurance product that was intentionally too expensive for any company other than Uber and Lyft to afford was just shameless, and that's the real reason why they're swallowing up the market.

i drove for yellow cab and they had the area's needs met and tons of repeat customers, everything was fine and then

spanish speaking drivers from a different company had a better engagement than us to the hispanic community...  then two smaller spanish speaking companies opened.

so at that point we lost a ton of customers.  we had many charge account for the county, medical, courts, and some others.  that was keeping it going for a long time.

its also very hard to find good drivers that can connect with the community and be there when they're needed.

they were stealing, lying and treating customers poorly.  one time a driver slid off the road on ice and told his customer they had to get out

so he could call a tow truck, all of which was not necessary, and a second cab could have been called to get the customers to their destination.

he was a speeder (85 miles per hour he got popped in a 45 once), even charged those customers for the ride.

over the years it just stopped making as much money as the other companies and he finally called it quits.

Ive heard a lot of shit stories about the way ubet and lyft treat the private contractors (not employees) that work for them.

Its a race to the bottom in a gig economy, i tell ya what.

well people would definitely complain about me

being a cabbie is for the busiest hours in the streets, bars, drunks, parties.  you have to be rude to half these people just so you dont loose it.

uber users are seem like, closeted or something to me

literally $100's in tips or hot bitches are the only two possible reasons and those night are rare

the rest of the time its shit money and people are assholes, fat, stupid, drunk, need you to carry their fucking groceries, old and senile

cab company owners are usually gambling, drunk, perverts,

and a few other highlights i cant recall atm

it more fun when your in your 20's
