nameraka Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 also tried moonshine for the last time last night.
Ginguy Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 See what ya need to get is some melonshine. Moonshine is harsh, the corn is just rough. Melonshine is smoother, sweeter.
nameraka Posted November 12, 2017 Author Posted November 12, 2017 it actually wasn't terrible. reminded me a bit of rye whiskey. i mostly erred by drinking too much of it. i know not of melonshine... will look into.
Ginguy Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Well, the drinking too much will happen no matter what they use in the mash.... >
death_by_motorboat Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 when i was in college my art history prof said to me, "what is the strongest that you can get alcohol nowadays?" I said, "200 proof, thats grain alcohol or straight alcohol." he said, "in ancient greece they drank alcohol 3 or 4 times that strength." i replied, "there is no such thing." he said, "it was." years later i realized he was talking about a pure alcohol drink infused with hallucinogens. it was a real "duh" moment.
PhilosipherStoned Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 A pure alcohol drink infused with hallucinogens? That reminds me of Absinthe; even though it's just strong enough to make you blackout drunk drunk quick as fuck and that supposingly started all the rumors of it having active hallucinogenic ingrediants. I've done everclear, and absinthe, but if I've ever done moonshine I don't remember.

PhilosipherStoned Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Absinthe only goes up to 148. Moonshine.. I've seen people clame ridiculous proofs.
Rogue_Alphonse Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 also tried moonshine for the last time last night. Real shit or the storebought stuff?
Rogue_Alphonse Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 i think technically 190 proof is as strong as you can get. my understanding is that it's physically impossible to distill pure ethanol. Oh no, you can buy Spirytus off the shelf at the liquor store, 192 proof.
nameraka Posted November 12, 2017 Author Posted November 12, 2017 Real shit or the storebought stuff? store bought but from a local distiller. we have a lot of those around here.
UncomfortableGoatee Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 store bought but from a local distiller. we have a lot of those around here. arent there abunch of stringent regulations that make it not as strong? note: i know nothing of the shine
Rogue_Alphonse Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 arent there abunch of stringent regulations that make it not as strong? note: i know nothing of the shine Yeah I think the maximum is like 80 proof to be able to legally be sold.
CAC Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 I've has it a couple times but only stupid drunk off it once.
