SwimModSponges Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 After over a month of downtime. Indinite boot loop was unfixable as i had feared, so total loss on the hard drive. But, since it was empty anyways, seemed like a good enough time to upgrade. Parts should be arriving tomorrow, along with a copy of shadow of war for my birthday. Woohoo.
SwimModSponges Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 Well it's a birthday present so im not super specific on the details, but a 500gb ssd hard drive and some more ram.

The infinite boot loop is always unfixable. Were you able to recover files off of it?
SwimModSponges Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 No i was not. But hey, a clean slate is nice every once amd a while too, you know?
scoobdog Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Most certainly. I do like the new hard drive feel.
Dr. MrsGirlfriend Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Samsung 850 EVO 500gb ssd, 4gb RAM stick to replace the damaged one that caused the infinite looping. Also Shadow of War should be all installed and ready to go. Conned my IT Tech cousin into getting it all pretty for him again, all I had to do was order parts. Happy birthday/anniversary Sponges.
SwimModSponges Posted November 12, 2017 Author Posted November 12, 2017 Well, looks like we still need a cable and a bracket to get everything up and running, and the only places in town who have what we need are closed today. So tomorrow then.
Raptorpat Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 perfect timing to save all of your fanfictions
Sieg67 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 SATA cable? Best Buy sales them. I've built computers without cases. You can probably run it without a bracket.
SwimModSponges Posted November 13, 2017 Author Posted November 13, 2017 Yeah, my last hard drive was kind of free-floating But i figured eh, waited over a month, whats another day or two. Shoild be getting it back tonight hopefully.
