Mario Kart Wii Was Underrated

Particularly Rainbow Road. God I loved that track. And the music! Well just listen:

 

 

But it had great character selection. I loved how OP the bikes were. Dolphin Dasher was always my go to. And so many great tracks. Maple Treeway, N64 Bowser Castle, N64 Mario Raceway, GBA Bowser Castle 3, the aforementioned Rainbow Road. Admittedly the Thunder Cloud item sucked, but the Mega Mushroom was awesome! Bring that back Nintendo!

 

Honestly it's probably my favorite Mario Kart.

I thought MK Wii was great, like literally everything about it was great. It's obviously been a while since I played it but I might have liked it better than 8.

 

I think it's problem was that it's entire advertising campaign was based around the wheel controls, so a lot of people associated it with that even though you could use a classic or gcn controller and play it like any other Mario Kart.

I thought it was dumb that they got rid of split screen for GP mode but other than that it was good.

Honestly I loved the tilt controls, because it finally captured the "DAMMIT IF I TWIST THE CONTROLLER I'LL TURN FASTER!" technique I used all the way back in Super Mario Kart.
