Bouvre Posted September 13, 2017 Share Posted September 13, 2017 My favorite part is when RuPaul and the judges provide succinct but straightforward critiques of the performances/photoshoots/outfits for the queens up for elimination, followed by the one-on-one reactions of each respective queen talking about how their performance/photoshoot/outfit was actually the fucking best and they don't deserve to be considered for elimination. I have qualms about whether or not I would enjoy it. Nice to hear about this. All of the contestants are stunningly talented at what they do (why else are they there?). I've also been watching a lot of America's Next Top Model, and what I like about Drag Race is the risk and creativity. While things like "being wild" or "ugly" are presented as a challenge in ANTM, many contestants embrace a wilder, over the top approach as their primary aesthetic mode of drag, and it results in some real cool and innovative shit.
