Vegeta's whole sense of self worth his whole life up to this point has been that he is the strongest, but Goku proves otherwise basically Vegeta thinks he has no worth as a person if he is not strong, it's why he let babidi mind control him after this arc he realizes he is worth more than just being the strongest and thats why he's such a wuss in super he's happier being Bulma's husband and Trunks's father than he is proving he's stronger than Goku
