  1. Regardless of how one wants to categorize Primal, since Toonami made their NON-ACTION edict they can technically air anything animated. Within reason of course. We know they won't air any kiddy toyetic shows. But having seen Primal I would say it was a decent fit and certainly a great show. It wasn't THAT depressing either. I mean it is not like anime is a stranger to tragic set ups and backstories either. But I am glad they aired it since I never got around to watching it yet and I enjoyed it quite a bit!
  2. Ep 9 - LOL the way Moroha started sulking and pouting when Towa and Setsuna wouldn't go with her on the bounty hunt for Konton was hilarious. Was kind of sad though. She lived all alone this whole time up until now?! Is Takechiyu actually male? This is at least the second time someone has referred the character this way. I could have sworn he was a girl this whole time?! Then again we thought the same thing about Shippo! Put out a bounty on the Dream Butterfly. Pay for it using the money from getting Konton's bounty. This plan is too logical to fail. Heh sped up when Towa and Setsuna caught up to Moroha and wanted to join. So Konton is not only a member of the Four Perils, but is from China. I feel like that has not been emphasized that Kirinmaru and the Four Perils are from China, but maybe I missed something. There was also another demon with a strong shell in the original series. Naraku killed it and took its shell. Interesting, Konton's sword seems to have the same ability as Gin Ichimaru's. In the preview, I'm pretty sure those conjoined twin demons were in the original show. By the way, does anybody know how many episodes this series is supposed to be? ~ After watching the 4th episode dubbed, the description of Kirinmaru does not make it seem like he is from China. Or maybe just the 4 perils are. Or maybe just Konton is. After hearing the explanation again I still don't quite understand what's going on with Sesshomaru and Kirinmaru. I just remembered that when Setsuna was wearing that dress, she didn't have the fur boa. Meaning it is a garment and not a part of her body like with Sesshomaru. That does definitely sound like the same voice for Kikyo. I can't tell with Myoga from just the small clip from the preview.
  3. They give anime a pass on that probably because of how much they love anime and also because it comes from a different country and culture. It also makes a difference if something was done out of genuine ignorance and not knowing any better, or being consciously and actively racist. I think the author was unaware of the connotations, given Maki gets called that. I saw someone saying Obi gets called a gorilla too but I don't recall that. Actively includes them and also they are drawn normally.
  4. It seems like the gag shouldn't be necessary anymore, since Nezuko has already proven her loyalty to her brother, and refused to attack that asshole that roughed her up at the Demon Slayer HQ. As mentioned, even some of the most primitive seeming demons can speak and aren't just growling and screaming etc. So I'd like to think Nezuko's grunts and noises are because of the gag and not that she is unable to speak. And she did have the internal monologue and flashback to her mother, and was able to call out her attack during the fight with the spider demon. I would like more moments like that. Yeah they had training montages but Nezuko is a demon so it's hard to say how her power advancement and development would work. I don't know if the techniques Tanjiro and the others learned could be used by Nezuko. We've seen other demons rapidly increase in strength and size/mutation just from eating one person. But she doesn't eat people so who knows. Not sure how the sleeping factors into things. She sleeps to heal and recover her strength, but does she get stronger after these battles and injuries and following naps, like a Saiyan lol? Kind of going out of order here but the only thing that concerns me as far as giving benefit of the doubt and the first season being an "intro" as you described, is the series' length. I don't know if you were aware but the manga already ended back in May and it only ran for about 4 years. I seem to recall some people being upset by the ending but I could be remembering wrong, and I don't want to look it up and get spoilers. So I'm not sure if the series came to a natural ending or was abrupt or rushed somehow. I just read on the wikipedia page that the manga didn't explode in popularity (unexpectedly at that,) until after the anime aired. But then not long after that the manga ended, so it seems odd. The way the series started out, it felt to me that it didn't need to be super long, but then the Demon Slayer Captains and squads were introduced, and Muzan Gebutsuji's elite demons, it seemed like it wouldn't be such a short series after all. But then I hear it had just ended back in May. So I'm concerned not only for how the world was expanded and covering all of that and giving all those characters some good screen time, but then also the main characters themselves, including of course, Nezuko. And I don't know how much material was already covered by the anime and then the movie, and accordingly, how much is left, for us to see more Nezuko goodness. Well, let's see, maybe there is a way to safely check. I looked up episode 26 on the Demon Slayer wikia and it covered chapters 51 (p.12-19), 52, 53 (p.5-21), 54 (p.1-4). That is pretty odd how it stopped on the first 4 pages of a chapter. Must have something to do with cliffhanger-ing into the movie. And I quickly glanced so I wouldn't see the titles and can see there are 205 chapters in total. So probably still a decent amount left even after the movie, and who knows maybe there is some good Nezuko action on the movie. But yeah, if there is anyone around that could give a non-spoiler idea on any of this, could be helpful.
  5. Oh I thought maybe Mira had killed all those ape-men and that was to show how badass she was. So it was the slavers that did it?
  6. So Spear can speak after all. Her name is Mira. Cliffhanger?? Surely the ape-men did not build that sailboat? Has to someone else, right? But then what was with that ape-men attack?
  7. I'm wondering that too. Something with looking into later.
  8. Hmm the speaking is lost on Spear. Drawings maybe. Sail boat! That culture is advanced indeed! Wtf. A minotaur?
  9. LOL what a way to bust the wooden neck piece. But the metal shackles weren't stronger than the rock? Wow I just noticed she is tall. Like an amazon. Whoa she can speak and not in just Amazon. Speaking of Amazon, she made a bow and arrow!
  10. LOL Fang jacking that meal. Spear says no to the sweet potato or whatever that was, but liked the meat. LOL Fang eats the potato Spear tossed.
  11. Escaped slave and a mosasaur or something. Her shackles seem a bit advanced for this era. And she is bald which is pretty odd.
  12. Slave of the Scorpion. Now that is an extremely specific title lol.
  13. Whatever this thing is doesn't like light or fire. Man these creature POV shots are crazy. What the hell was it? Some sort of speedy carnivorous bipedal dinosaur with long claws on the hands. That was nutso!
  14. Yeah this has taken Genndy's dialogue free storytelling to the extreme.
  15. Mystery creature demolishing a herd of horned dinos. Fang telling Spear he doesn't want to fuck with that thing.
  16. Something a caught a sabertooth tiger off guard and took it out. Not good. Fang is put off big time by the remains of the carcass.
  17. So this witch went rogue and is helping them escape. GAH when the head witch got mad she looked horrifying. Then turned into a wolf! Head witch killed rogue witch. But she gets reunited with her granddaughter in the afterlife.
