  1. Naw this doesn't look that anime-like. It looks like comic book art or art for animation DC would use. Doesn't look cheap to me. And the first one had really weird looking characters but cool backgrounds.
  2. No when I saw the trailer for the show debuting I literally thought it was an anime at first lmao.
  3. Oh hey they actually did what I and others suggested and got a show that's already dubbed from the past few years. From what I have seen, heard, and read, though, Assassination Classroom seems... disturbing. Also the yellow tentacle guy looks creepy as fuck.
  4. No, it looks more like traditional comic book art, art you would see for some animated comic book stuff, though not the Bruce Timm stuff specifically. Boondocks almost looks like anime haha.
  5. Why the hell would they let the inmates wander the island?
  6. Transfer out of the MCU? But this is DC! Oh, "Major Crimes Unit." Heh.
  7. So is this an anthology? The character designs in the first one were weird but I liked the background art, animation, and music was great. Now for this part the art is totally different and seems more traditional comic booky.
  8. It's a good thing I could see close, but still. x_x Did I say how I lost my old ones? They fell off my face because of the stupid mask pulling my ears down, into the toilet at Sam's and then the automatic flusher sucked them down! I needed new ones anyway but was putting it off because of covid. That kind of forced me to get new ones at that point lmao. Yeah I don't know if the nozzle had a cap or seal on it but the spray blasted out like a jetstream and knocked the nest down and I don't think it hit them all!
  9. Hmm these don't sound quite like Batman to me lol. Shadow powarz hahaha. Batman? More like Man-bat! And lol at the kaiju noises. Mecha-Batman?! Well, conceivably Batman could have a suit like this, but this kid is saying it like he is literally a robot. But that isn't the case. Ah! Now THAT'S the real Batman!
  10. Last night was kind of shitty. Botched battle with yellowjackets amongst other things going on. But at least I didn't get stung. But I finally got my glasses! I can watch TV without sitting 2-3 feet in front of the screen!
  11. The whole Lucky Lecher Lure thing is supposed to be funny because of how random and ridiculous it is. Although it happens so frequently it kind of undermines Tamaki's character. She couldn't even have a serious battle with that guy in the Nether because the Lucky Lecher Lure happened.
  12. Here is the whole interview. https://www.funimation.com/blog/2020/08/03/interview-weekly-shonen-magazine-editor-details-fire-force-success-working-with-ohkubo-sensei/ I had remembered recently that the Soul Eater manga had a bunch of weird fan service that the anime mostly didn't use, and thought maybe this is why Fire Force suffered. Because it sticks too close to the manga. I remember hearing about all kinds of crazy scenes, like one where the zombie guy sees Maka's panties, which he doesn't care/no-sells. Which I guess is kind of funny, but I can see why they wouldn't use that scene in the anime. So I definitely just thought the issue was just with the author this whole time. ...was this editor around back then, too? I thought it was funny when the editor said they make sure things are easy to understand. Was all that bullshit with Sho's powers and Shinra's counter supposed to be easy to understand?
  13. I didn't see "Count Frylock is a dumb fuck" as one of the poll choices. You really don't know when to quit, do you? Oh, I see this thread was made on July 28th but I didn't see it until now for some reason. Still...
  14. This is the one I saw. https://gizmodo.com/crunchyroll-might-get-sold-to-sony-wait-what-1844704873 I didn't realize AT&T had so much debt. I have no idea how that even happened. But I can't say I feel too sorry for them. They are a garbage company. Our phone service was actually good until they bought Cingular and ruined it, and we became AT&T customers. Oh joy! How the hell can a company even exist while being 151 billion in debt? Given most, if not all, of these Toonami originals are co-productions with Crunchyroll, what the hell is going to happen to the shows if Crunchyroll gets sold to Sony? And if Sony buys Crunchyroll, won't they have too much of a stranglehold over anime, since they already own Funimation? Also seems like it could be redundant to own both and I could see them being merged or consolidated under a single owner. This all could also affect how Toonami acquires shows, or continues to even exist. Crunchyroll was presumably the back up. In theory it was supposed to be easier to get shows from them since they are under the same parent company. If Toonami faltered it could be co-branded with Crunchyroll, or worse comes to worse, taken over as a Crunchyroll block, possibly with or without the Toonami branding, but at least a linear live broadcasting block of anime could continue in the United States. I really can't see a purpose for Toonami on a streaming platform. Where do you put hosts or reviews etc when people are just clicking on things to watch whenever they want? And yeah all the layoffs don't sound good either. Basically, it's possible and even likely that Demarco is going to be fucked eight ways past Tuesday soon.
  15. Where would it move to? If you mean a streaming platform, it probably won't work with the on-demand nature of viewing.
  16. Now that is a very likely scenario. If their money is already tied up in shows that got delayed, they won't have much to spend on anything to fill the gaps. Still, I can't believe you would defend Demarco. Have you not seen the state of the block lately? I'm talking pre-covid. Cuts to time slots left and right, and old excuse of we like a shorter block is trucked out, and no real explanation given for the cuts. I'm sure whatever happened wasn't his fault or his decision. It never is. But when something good happens Demarco is all too eager to take the praise. Demarco has been in the business for decades but he has not innovated or kept track of current trends since at least the bulk of the last decade of his career. He has decades of experience but has been caught with his pants down multiple times not even knowing when shows rights were expiring, and other issues with shows he should have known about or been prepared for. He had plenty of notice on Food Wars running out of episodes but wasn't able to get the deal done in time for the next season. Demarco knew the next season was with another company since he got the first two. Not that I care so much about that show, but it's yet another example of incompetence. He will only put on what he likes, assuming he has even seen it. Like I said, he is out of touch. And you're supposed to market to viewers, not yourself! I don't think I can do better than Demarco, but if I and many other viewers can point out these obvious issues and can think of probable solutions, surely there is someone out there better for the job than Demarco.
  17. To not fiddle while Rome burns? Demarco claims they haven't just been sitting on their asses, but we all know how trustworthy he is. He has consistently been shown to be full of shit. I think Poke and Sketch pretty well summed up my other general issues with him. He's become the out of touch dinosaur he once rebelled against when he first co-created Toonami, and will only put on shows he personally likes. Still others he hasn't even seen. He doesn't keep up with current trends. And yes blaming people for not watching shows when they were, as the MHA fiasco proved. Then they just kept having more and more cuts, even before covid. Then he trucked out that old excuse of preferring a shorter block anyway. Then when covid hit, Demarco said they were lacking money because of the loss of sports contracts. So Adult Swim and Toonami are being subsidized by the sports being shown on another Turner networks? In other words, he was full of shit yet again when he claimed Toonami was a well-oiled machine that not only paid for itself, but made money.
  18. He was talking about a character, not the franchise itself. From what I can tell from that poster, there is a new female tanooki equivalent of Shippo... great. The InuYasha manga started a year before One Piece in 1996, though One Piece's anime came out in 99 and InuYasha's in 2000. The first Tenchi OVA came out in 1992 and Dragon Ball has been around since 1984. So basically the only one you were right about was Naruto. One Piece probably won't have an ending lol. By that, I don't mean it won't end. It will definitely end eventually, since Oda won't live forever. But it doesn't seem like Oda will ever commit to ending it. I remember a few years back fans thought it would end soon, since apparently it was busting through a bunch of plot points at the time. Not sure what has happened since then lol, but it obviously hasn't ended. I didn't realize you left?
  19. Exactly what I was thinking of. https://dcpowervisa.dccomics.com/ This is the page I got when I clicked the ad. It's real.
  20. LOL I just got this ad looking up Barbara Gordon earlier. There is an actual Bat Credit Card now!
  21. I remember seeing the Dark Knight Returns figures years ago in Toyfare and not understanding why Batman looked like that, never having read the comic. After watching this I'm still not sure I know why he looks like that lol.
