  1. Well, as said, I don't really give a shit about the ratings, but if it affects my viewing enjoyment and the ratings back me up, then I'm going to make those arguments. Wut?
  2. What proof is there of any of this TOEI strong-arming? You have no proof that Toonami is locked to keeping any shows into particular time slots. I think maybe you guys just need to accept that Adult Swim is retarded. And their shitty scheduling seems to be infecting and taking over Toonami's once rather logical scheduling. It's looking more and more like ASA idiocy all the time. I can't even say it's "fine as a placeholder" because the ratings damage is pretty severe. Would Toonami even keep this slot long enough to bring in whatever Jack is supposedly keeping the slot warm for? It's a colossal misstep. They never should have done this in the first place. It doesn't make sense to "hold" slots for another show. They should have no issue purchasing and negotiating a show on time to bring in whenever another show ends. Maybe whatever it is wouldn't be "worthy" of the slot, but that whole notion seems pretty stupid, especially since they didn't put Attack on Titan there. To me, this seems more deliberate and they just thought Jack would do as well or slightly less better in reruns than it did in premieres, which after what happened with the AoT rerun debacle, and seeing these results, we know is obviously not the case. Placing the blame for the decision on programming or Adult Swim proper doesn't help numb the incompetence, either. Besides, with how well things had been going up until now, you'd think they'd defer to Toonami on some of this stuff more. Demarco and co. were the architect of this block and the renaissance and growth of anime on Adult Swim, after all. I can honestly see either party being responsible though, given Demarco's insistence on unwarranted marathon spam, among other things.
  3. Well, I don't care about ratings, unless they get bad enough that something I'm watching gets canceled. Also, I want a new show in the opening slot and not a rerun, and the ratings bomb of last Saturday bolsters my position.
  4. There's hicks in Pennsylvania? Well, I suppose if you go far enough north, you run into Canada and places like the Dakotas, which are full of hicks, so I suppose it's possible.
  5. Yeah it used to be I had one, two, or no shows on the block I didn't like. Now it's most of them. That's just not good. Even with my prior reasons given of having too much other stuff on my plate in terms of watching, gaming, and reading material, I can't continue to tolerate watching mostly crap anime with no other [quality] anime content to make up for it. Demarco had said they don't need those now because of the channel guides, which didn't exist back in the old days. I do agree the bumps need to be updated more often and we need more promos and topicals, extras, etc.
  6. It didn't help that Moose was one of the people hard-selling it. I also was iffy on the art style but got over that pretty quickly. And Meliodas looking dorky has a reason in the context of the story.
  7. Hmm, for TX... Attack on Titan Season 2. Fine. *looks up Akashic Records* What the fuck is wrong with you people? And yeah I wouldn't be surprised if the Toonami bungling continues.
  8. SAOII got dubbed and on Toonami pretty fast. They actually started dubbing it before it even finished airing in Japan.
  9. *googles* I must have missed that.
  10. Obviously cameos yes but the show made a point of drawing attention to it, and like you said, Full Frontal was the main antagonist, so his death is obviously going to be closely looked at by viewers. This is why I was asking wtf was up with those ghosts. I agree with you about Bright Noa, though. He was established well here. Probably an epilogue episode, though it's probably not going to be enough to wrap up all this stuff. We'll see. Also, there's still the matter of the giant death beam the President authorized. I hope Riddhe's bullshit doesn't gets swept under the rug, at least. Plenty of other characters that need their just desserts as well (don't know their names). Not sure if this can all happen with just one more episode, but I'm not exactly sad that tomorrow is the last episode, either.
  11. Believe me, I get what you mean. I once had a self-imposed rule of never making consecutive posts. I used to multi-quote on the Lithium boards, but eventually decided this was too messy and too difficult, overwhelming to read. Making the responses as actual separate posts directly addressed to the user being replied to is cleaner, more organized, easier to read, and more respectful to the individual users you're replying to. Also easier to quote and reply to than one, giant mega-post.
  12. He is adorable, and still not explained! Thought for sure Hawk was a girl, though. They didn't use a pronoun until he 'died' in the final battle against Hendrickson. Almost thought they were calling him hog, too. Also love how Hawk's mom is just called Hawk's Mom.
  13. Sorry for not responding to this thread sooner. Been a bit preoccupied the past few weeks! I think so. The petite girl with the short purple hair.
  14. There's another, currently final, arc that's longer than all the others. I've tried not to read up too much on the Alicization Arc so I don't get spoiled, since I don't see myself reading through all the novels right this minute. Anyway, all the web novels for that arc have been adapted and published as light novels (the higher canon) some time ago now, so there is nothing stopping them from being adapted into anime form. I imagine the only reason we haven't seen seen it yet are because those resources were devoted to making the movie.
  15. I swear I didn't even know they were a thing and then overnight they're fucking omnipresent. It's fucking weird.
  16. It's episodic and easy to get into. You could probably jump in anywhere.
  17. If true, that's pretty shitty. To just sacrifice viewers FOR THE GREATER GOOD. That doesn't sound like the Demarco way!
  18. I don't give a fuck about ratings. I want a new show!
  19. They have no proof these deals exist. They're talking out their asses. I think maybe you guys just need to accept that Adult Swim is retarded. And their shitty scheduling seems to be infecting and taking over Toonami's once rather logical scheduling. It's looking more and more like ASA idiocy all the time.
  20. What are you basing this Toei scapegoating on? Or any of this, really. You're doing a lot of assuming here. You have no proof that Toonami is locked to keeping any shows into particular time slots. Iron is cold as fuck and makes me wish they never even bothered. Those Tokyo Ghoul fans must have been really patient and persistent. Yeah Lupin is definitely a not a top tier show which is why I guess it is getting this slot. Lol Naruto... "story heavy." No you have to suffer with the rest of us.
  21. My thoughts exactly. I have no issue with Jack rerunning, but why waste the opening slot on that? There's plenty of new shows you could put there! It's VERY disappointing.
  22. I think live ratings count more than DVR ratings but I could be wrong on that. I mean, if someone REALLY likes a show they'll make the effort to watch it live, right? Besides, it's the principle of the thing. Also new viewers probably aren't going to DVR a new show, unless the promo manages to interest them enough, or they already record the whole block anyway. And in no way do I think most casual viewers watch it religiously like we do.
  23. I guess they must not consider Lupin a top tier show. Which yeah, it kinda' isn't, but still...
