People were requesting Fairy Tail for a long time. I have my suspicions it slipped off the top 5 (now they just give us a top 3) because of other big shows that came out. People requested other sequel seasons before they even existed. This wouldn't be the first time. But I agree with the person in the ratings thread who said they need to stop going by these requests so much when deciding what shows to pick up. Most people aren't going to go to the trouble to request stuff on Toonami's social media pages. It's not really an accurate barometer of what the overall viewers want or would want, even if those results of those requests tabulations are accurate. About Mob Psycho, that's on Funimation Now, isn't it? I believe they might disclude shows that they can't pick up if someone else has a lock on them. They stopped listing Sailor Moon in the top requested shows list after Hulu got it. Or maybe the requests for it died down, I dunno.

It wasn't really explained why did. But I knew once we saw that flashback he either died or turned evil, haha. Maybe we'll get some answers during the fight.

All the gore this series has shown so far and it shies away from the torture? And don't tell me it's an artistic decision either...

So the promo spoiled the first few minutes of the trailer. Still, it's annoying. I'd liked to have seen that cliffhanger resolved IN THE SHOW. Cheap shot by the Colossal Titan. Still, Eren and the others should've paid closer attention to where the fight was moving. So they took Ymir, Eren, who was the other? Just some redshirt that was grabbed for their ODM gear like someone suggested last episode thread? Maybe so. They probably dumped them after they took the gear too. Shut them up, Levi. Pixes and Erwen. Haven't seen them in a while. God damn it. Another fucking flashback?

Just the animation in Vegeta's evil grin here is better than that whole Super episode we just watched. Not only did Vegeta let himself fall under Babidi's spell, but he killed those civilians, all to get his rematch with Goku. I'd like to see you try to stop them, Supreme Kai.

Yes, it's because you haven't been training, Gohan. Frieza's done lost his shit. Ok, so Gohan got redeemed here a bit. In the movie he was taken out by a single Frieza Death Beam to the chest. Still, he never should've been taken out by the blast from that underling in the first place. That guy was killed by Frieza after he woke up, sent into space. Piccolo paid the ultimate price? Unlikely.

So let me get this straight. This show changed the events from the movie to make Gohan, and now Piccolo, look like shit, just for a Gotenks cameo? I do like the addition of Ginyu though. Wait, did Frieza just call them younglings? Why did they de-fuse? Frieza thinks Trunks is Trunks son lol.

Apparently so. I haven't seen the Momocon panel myself yet, but the guys on the podcast did and apparently it was said at that panel that those were the top 3 requested shows. Somewhat odd, you think?

He still posts Toonami stuff. But then I don't really care for Twitter and lost track with his ask.fm. For time I was getting a message saying his ask.fm was disabled, so not sure what was up with that. There's still Toonami and anime, etc related questions on there but yeah he's not going to answer ratings stuff anymore. I think he actually made a point with one particular question some time ago of saying he's no longer going to answer questions related to ratings, and I don't blame him.

Yeah it's not nearly to the ASA-level, but like I said it's creeping in a less competent direction than it has been for the past years of Toonami's run. Well Lazzo would say that promotion doesn't work or some such nonsense. We've already seen how Toonami proves that to be incorrect. Oh yeah those ratings bumber cards and the derisive anime bumps (however funny they might have been and to watch fans get worked up over them, ultimately probably counterproductive), lead to the reason we obsess and sometimes get concerned over the ratings. And yes like you've said they will do what they have to do. Well, there was an overall ratings crisis but they were also running those ancient ASA shows into the ground in the second half, opted for the brilliance of Attack on Titan reruns to open the block, and had that botched second Month of Movies. And like Al said Toonami is doing worse even in comparison to how much the network overall is doing worse this year, so it's definitely a Toonami thing. They need to fix things and fast.

Very interesting. Is saw a news article on this but it didn't go into nearly this much detail. It's cool that we're finally learning more about the 4 Noble Families. Looks like this book is going to deal with a few untapped plots that Kubo didn't have time to put into the main series. There's definitely fertile ground for that. I hope these light novels get official translated release. They're selling really well in Japan, by the way. Orochimaru? Didn't think about that. The article I read said the guy looks like Gin, and I'm inclined to agree.

You almost have to wonder if AS is actively trying to kill the block, or if the Toonami crew are losing more control over it. As I've said before, the once logical Toonami-style programming that's been built up over its run seems to be slowly giving way to ASA-level incompetence. It's not good.

Demarco didn't say anything before the block got chopped in half either, until after it happened. He's not going to say OH YEAH THE BLOCK IS FUCKING BOMBING. So that doesn't mean anything.

What Top_Gun said is exactly what would happen, and has precedence since they tried moving the block up before and it screwed up the ratings, leading to them moving it back. Everyone is used to watching the shows where they are. It's not smart to move the whole block up or do big schedule shake-ups in general. Best to just add/delete shows/slots on either end, if you want the block to start or end at different times. So yeah that's a terrible idea.

But they're rerunning it on several different days. Not only that, but they ran the same episode in the first slot 2 weeks in a row, on account of that marathon. So people probably bailed because of that, or thinking they were doing another marathon. So really it was a stupid decision on many levels.

What the hell is FLCL going to carry? It's niche and weird as hell. Sure it's going to be a "Toonami Original" but I don't see it doing gangbusters ratings much less acting as an effective anchor.
