  1. So, did Gohan lose the ability to go Mystic because he got lazy and slacked off on his training, or did Toriyam and Toei just forget? I mean, losing some power and getting rusty and less skilled I can see... but that would be like he forgot how to turn Super Saiyan??
  2. The tech was always dubious and vague in Naruto. VCRs and cameras, radios, but seemingly no power lines between villages, weird pipes and other steampunk stuff on buildings, but no cars or other vehicles, except sailing ships? Some theorized Naruto took place in a post-apocalyptic world. But, tech need not advance at the same pace as our own world, or as quickly. So, they could be advanced in areas we aren't, and vise versa, and advance at different rates. And maybe it is relating back to how Japan's technology advanced so quickly after they opened up.
  3. So, it's not he Byakuyagan, but something even more specialer. Of course. This ED is sickeningly cute.
  4. LMAO Kagemasa is obese now. He's fallen further than Steven Seagal!
  5. Damn, got to this episode late and missed most of last week's because I was working on my fish tank and then my cat got out. So I'll have to re-watch both episodes, I guess. But, I love that girl. Hinata's sister, right? She looks like Rukia Hyuga! Especially when - (spoilers for Bleach final arc ending; Rukia)
  6. But... Rey and Kirito had their entire lives doing the things they are good at. That's... generally how one gets good at things. I think, you don't know what a Mary Sue really is. You said you only watched the first 4 episodes of Black Clover, so not sure what you can really say on this topic. None of them look as bad as that Freezing screencap, and most have had great animation.
  7. So, when will we get the male pill, commercial?
  8. Is this filler too? Ok yeah looks like it. I got side-tracked reading and replying to other threads, so I'm going try to watch My Hero Academia now. Edit - Ah hell, I can't, because I didn't record it, and I can only rewind live TV by 30 minutes! Damn! Guess that's what I get for getting wrapped in arguing!
  9. Edit - I posted in the wrong thread, really?
  10. People often say that with the intent that someone is being contrarian for the sake of it. But, fair enough, then.
  11. We've seen the whole show how she has difficulty controlling her magic and aiming her attack moves. We learn that she can aim just fine, but that she is subconsciously missing on purpose because she doesn't want to hurt people. She can't use her power correctly because she holds it back instead of just letting it flow. A giant display of power like that generally means there is something in store in the future, even if defensive. Think about Gohan. And I wouldn't call that ball entirely defensive, either. Point is, Noelle always had a lot of power, but just didn't know how to use it properly. We learned she has no attack spells, so I guess just hurling those balls doesn't count as actual spells? It's not clear. But yeah, now she does have attack spells, and they're badass.
  12. I dunno, for me, the writing was on the wall when Sasuke wasn't rescued after one arc and it became apparent that one of the end goals of the series would be rescuing that little shit. What's more, Naruto and Sasuke's relationship doesn't even come off like Kishimoto wants it to. They are supposed to be BEST FRIENDS, and the show and characters tell us this several times, but there's like a whole three actual friendship moments, and their relationship comes off more like co-workers who were on friendly terms, and Naruto loses his shit because Sasuke gets a job somewhere else. It would actually make more sense if they were gay. Also the fact that Sasuke was an asshole and they were mostly just little shits to each other, it doesn't make me sympathize with Sasuke, much less Naruto and Sakura wanting to "save" him. Sasuke has done more than enough that should have gotten him hunted down and killed or captured a long time ago. So, we're supposed to agree with Naruto and Sakura, and think eveyone else is wrong, but it comes off the opposite and Naruto and Sakura come off as crazy and delusional. And the whole Itachi retcon thing was a just a joke. Now, there have still been good arcs like the stuff you mentioned, but the backbone of the show being RESCUE SASUKE, is just... it's bad. Finally, upon re-watching "the good part", Part 1, it's not even as good as I remember. I can actually get behind Asta and his goals. Within the first few episodes, Asta and Yuno was already a better friendship than Naruto and Sasuke. Yuno is actually likable and not an asshole. The women being able to actually do things is certainly a plus. I have enjoyed the storylines and how they have gone outside of the usual formula, with Vetto, a henchman, stronger than Licht, and Licht defeated first, plus all the team and combo attacks. It's not often seen so I appreciate it.
  13. Yep, and come to think of it Gohan had little to no socialization with other children. That can't have been good for him.
  14. Or, I just have a different opinion? God-for-fucking-bid.
  15. Also I must have misread that post because I thought @Daos said that the art was as bad as a fan service show from 10 years ago. Umm, the art in that screencap does look like shit, and the fan service isn't even good. Those character designs do nothing for me. About as appealing as Tenchi GXP's "art."
  16. I don't think that's always such a good thing. There's plenty of shows I've stumbled upon on TV, that I probably wouldn't have watched had a I came across their title page and synopsis on a streaming service. You're more likely to stick around watching something after you see a few minutes, than if you just look at the thumbnail/poster/card/whatever online and go "I'm not gonna watch that." Linear traditional TV still has its place and its benefits, and it would be a shame if it does go fully extinct.
  17. But My Hero Academia is so much better. Or Naruto, LOL. One Piece, when given multiple chances to add more female crew members, just made the boat a bigger sausage fest. I mean, I guess you can say a reindeer, skeleton, and cyborg aren't exactly "normal men," but they could just easily have been women. Still miss Vivi. There's not very many women with weird or ugly designs in the show like there are guys, either. I also hear the women are handled worse and worse as the series goes on. Hunter x Hunter - no women of note to speak of. It's too bad the blonde guy wasn't a girl. He had a cute Tasha Yar look going on. Naruto - Do I even have to say anything? Now, Bleach, Fairy Tail, SAO, Black Clover, they all have strong, capable women who actually impact the plot. Though with obvious weaknesses, like Orihime, but even she has done more than any of the women in My Hero Academia so far.
  18. You tell that to me, but apparently if something isn't spoonfed to you, it's "plothole" or "headcanon" or "fanfiction." To me, it comes of that Natsu does pick up on it, just from the way he treats Lucy. Do you see him treating any of his other friends like that? And yes, he has tried to see her naked, and there was clearly a romantic attraction with Lisanna. Lucy even said "so Natsu used to have a little girlfriend huh." Maybe I am just reading into things that aren't there, but that's how it comes off to me. Mary Sues... care to explain how that is the case again? Because Rey isn't a retard that's incompetent at everything despite having to raise herself on a lawless wasteland of a planet? When we see things like Rey fighting off thugs that try to attack her, she makes a comment that she's flown ships before (and doesn't even fly that well, to begin with.) But, because we didn't go whole scenes of exposition spoonfeeding us that Rey has these skills, she's a Mary Sue to you. So, the concept that someone does something for a long time, their whole life, and can get good at it... you can't understand that? I'll also remind you, that with the Force, it augments all abilities, and you don't need to train to use it. Babies and children can use the Force easily because it comes naturally to them. Rey just awakened to her powers later. Also the constant comparisons to Luke. Not everyone is the same or learns the same. And Rey has heard about their Jedi and their feats and is open-minded, tries things and sees what sticks, etc. So, don't talk to me about "ailments" when you can't perceive anything that's the slightest bit subtle. We'll save the Kirito discussions for other threads.
  19. Just think, if Yamcha's dumbass hadn't gone first, he wouldn't have died pointlessly, since Krillin just took out all the Saibaman singelhandedly, and easily. Also, imagine Krillin beating Raditz, if he had this power back then, hahaha. "There's no need to drag this out." "This is going to be over quickly." LOLOLOL do you guys even know what show you're in? Damn, straight up PUNCHED Tien's arm off. And it's such a clean cut too, lol, what the heck. Now that's power! Chiaotzu's failed suicide attack. Is the VA for Chiaotzu the same as Chopper? Is that the original Funi Chiaotzu? By the way, the whole three eye thing with Tien is never explained, nor whatever the hell Chiaotzu is supposed to be. NOW NOTHING CAN BRING HIM BACK, NOT EVEN THE DRAGON BALLS. Loooooool. By the way, would it be such the end of the world if characters like Yamcha and Chiaotzu really couldn't be brought back?
  20. New OP and ED. Finally got around to watching this. I was working on my fish tank that night, so it kept me from watching a few of the shows, and with some I watched the same night, but behind the live airing. Looks like I never did post on JoJo when I thought for sure I did that night, as I did watch it, just not right when it came on, possibly a few minutes late or during one of the shows I skip. So, we had two shows with senile old deaf coots last week. Not sure how much either Gran Torino or Joseph were playing dumb and trolling, though! It almost seemed like Gran Torino had split personalities! So All Might might bad teacher, because he took to the power immediately. Go figure. For some reason I didn't see that coming. Yeah, it seems intuitive and obvious now. Don't use All For One as a special power you pull out at certain times, but all the time, as an extension of your being. You have to be able to do things without planning out and visualizing at times, Deku. Do you need to think to walk or breathe? That's how you should be doing the wall jumps, and how most people probably use their powers. "Regular people" Well, 80% of the population have powers, but I imagine many of them aren't useful for being a hero, or they simply don't have the ability or disposition to be a hero. So, that's how the hero world works. Lol Top Jeanist... he has pants pockets on his collar. He's going to make Bakugo into a polite English lady in no time! Love the troll grins on the other heroes as he ties up and "dresses down," heh, Bakugo. That guy with Uraraka is missing part of his mask, the pipe on one, is just a hole. Unless there's some intentional reason for that. That's right, Ida signed up for this agency just to hunt down Stain. Toshinori? But All Might doesn't look the least bit Japanese. Look at that. There was once a time where All Might wasn't a mountain of a man! Have Deku's hands gotten bigger? They seem out of proportion in this episode. Off-model or something? Hired them because they were cute... ok. And who is the red-haired girl with the Chun Li outfit? Who needs to learn a lesson? Evil Idle Hands L, or Stain? The Hard Guys are working for the Yakuza? He and this place doesn't look heroic at all! Chivalrous Man?! LOL Mineta actually is working for Mt. Lady, but is stuck doing house chores! Headphones Girl being put through the ringer.
  21. Raon Lee covered Guess Who is Back. I don't like it as much as her Black Rover cover. She definitely changed up and remixed the song more here. But still pretty good!
  22. And something like that will always end up happening to prevent Zoro or someone else from getting the kill over Luffy.
  23. But no one could be that bad a writer. Well, maybe someone could, but I don't think so in this case. It has to be intentional parody! I mean... ASTA WANTS TO MARRY A NUN! CHARMY FELL FOR A GUY WHO SAVED HER FOOD! Those are meant to be obvious jokes! Yami sits there and just makes fun of everyone in the whole show! And I can't think of too many series that have done team and combo attacks or have the enemy leader be beaten first and be weaker, if at all. It's almost always 1 v 1 and the big bad is the strongest and beaten last. Seems like you are the one lying down, since you won't even make the effort to counterpoint me. So, tell me, did Gundam Unicorn have a nonsensical plot with unlikable characters for really, really good reasons? I mean, even the Gundam fanboys on the Toonami Showdown podcast had to call it for being shit eventually. It just turns into silliness. I mean, maybe you want to want a watch a show about a emo bitchboy and bunch of assholes, with tryhard, sledgehammered anti-war and anti-classism messages - pretentious crap, but I don't.
  24. Still need to get around to watching that. I heard it's as good or better than the original?! It seems inconceivable! Gotta say the trailers certainly did not pique my interest. It looked as about as appealing as the new Total Recall.
  25. No interest in Blade Runner? Dude...
