Rink also revealed part of her past with Kayaba as his girlfriend and co-developer. She had the chance to kill Kayaba and end SAO, but didn't because she was in love with him. I dunno a lot of it felt the writer didn't know what to do. It didn't feel like an organic continuation of the first season at all. A lot of the tragic stuff that happened relied on the characters being dumb, or deaths happening just for reasons. Multiple characters just got gunned down by goons. Very lazy and forced. And Mikazuki and Atra's son is an abomination.

It happened when Asta first got the grimoire. Yep now it seems obvious Ladros just went all god mode so demonic Asta can tear him up!
