    Something that just popped into my head is maybe they are making Boruto a spoiled unappreciative brat intentionally. Maybe his behavior isn't supposed to be justified. But that doesn't make a for a likable protagonist. Maybe to teach the target audience to not be that way? Eeehhhhh? I may be giving too much credit to the writer, though.
