The two don't remember their past together as children, as we now hear a version of the story from Eugeo where only he and Alice went to the ice cave. As expected, Eugeo did not take Alice's being taken away well, but feels she must still be alive. Kirito settles in and tries to figure things out. Where will things go from here? I'm hoping that it's a joke. It HAD to be, right? If not, then WTF indeed. By the way, the last Alicization episode that aired was a recap. And they even recapped that scene. Not sure what they were thinking. Maybe the episode was made too far ahead of time for them to change it, but really, they shouldn't have shown that again regardless.
