  1. some people say a more accurate system would be considered invasion of privacy and that they can't just track what everyone in the country watches on cable or they say there's no better way than the nielsen system because maybe anything else would take too much work as you said it's an outdated system one that always annoys me because I Always watch toonami but I'm not considered a viewer...instead a very small amount of people that were randomly selected are considered actual viewers most of which probably don't watch toonami every week and are simply bored channel surfers
  2. and it's weird he mentions MHA Reruns but fails to mention MHA S5...which is new to the block but sits behind DBS Reruns as you said all this speculation is bizarre if he has all this secret information(which is what he uses to shutdown any haters who complain about DBS Reruns) not according to the top secret numbers adultswim has that we can't access...at least that's what they want us to believe
  3. this was a note from a recent interview he did "- And the last thing was the topic about DB: Super reruns. Basically, that's Kim Manning's decision and the reason why it's starting the block is what we have known for a while: it brings in the ratings. The Toonami people see more data than the general public and the show brings in the casual people to Toonami. Jason did say that they're aware that some people are unhappy about this and he said the show won't be at midnight "forever" but it's there for the foreseeable future. He also said that while he appreciates the die-hard fans of the block, they're still a television network at the end of the day and they need to bring in the eyeballs. He also mentioned that My Hero Academia reruns don't do well on the block compared to Super and he speculated it's because My Hero's audience is much younger, so they'll stream it compared to DB fans."
  4. and it's too bad that according to demarco those numbers are irrelevant and what matters are the secret numbers only adultswim can see...
  5. mostly because 1.Who the hell will randomly tune into Naruto at that time on a weekday morning... 2.it's not exactly an anime you can air on weekdays and expect people to tune into toonami because of it
  6. If it wasn't for Covid Season 5 probably would have come out last year...instead after Season 4 concluded it was just a longer wait until the next season
  7. Yeah that's a pretty random decision(not exactly an anime you can dump the average joe into at Episode 275)
  8. We'll See...You are probably right but then again adultswim sometimes makes decisions nobody can understand or explain..... they always do what they think is best for business and that doesn't always mean what's actually best for business
  9. who else agrees with me on this?...I Remember struggling to stay awake just to watch those episodes and i really shouldn't have had to do that but somehow i guess at the time toonami saw MHA as a declining series and dumped S3 near the end of the block.... Nobody was happy about that decision and I'm not convinced it won't happen again with S5....
  10. feels like it's been several years since MHA Aired on toonami...i know that's not the case but it just feels like it anyone else have that vibe about this?
  11. but considering there are people still fawning over 2 year DBS Episodes on toonami that have no clue anything else exists can we really say it'd be unexpected?
  12. honestly i think they've dialed back on this commercial...it's been awhile since i saw it on television haven't seen it while watching adultswim
  13. some chalk this up to people who don't have cable anymore and watch everything via streaming services
  14. yeah the one Demarco and crew have access to but nobody else does
  15. not that i know of....someone just decided this was a good idea for a commercial and there seems to be nothing it's connected to no clear reason for the monster theme whatsoever
  16. noticed adultswim uploaded the MHA S5 trailer to youtube and looking at the comments there were several actually surprised to see my hero academia on adultswim at all some even confused by it
  17. i think it happens because those are the only numbers we have access to and some people like to know how the shows they enjoy are doing because You can't really think if a show does horribly that toonami would keep it around unless the cost to air it is so cheap that they don't care
  18. which seems odd...as stated before this seems like an ad You'd run closer to halloween but that ad was posted on youtube by coca cola in march....
  19. and as a result shows could be doing far far far better than anyone knows or so bad that it's shameful they were even allowed to continue honestly with all that in mind...why talk about toonami ratings when it's pointless garbage that's irrelevant in the grand scheme of things if all that matters is information and knowledge we'll never know about then gauging ratings is about as useful as collecting dog turds yet people commonly discuss them on the toonami sub-reddit and there's a big topic to discuss these nothing burger ratings so really shouldn't we just outright stop discussing those when what's important is something we can't see
  20. it matters to the advertisers
  21. the social aspect is my favorite part...however what i do not like about the linear tv model is the way ratings are gauged(still have yet to know someone who participated in the nielsen survey)
  22. does toonami have to keep reminding us naruto's so long? I don't even know who outside some really bored night owls watch this
