I know, right? The brain is quite the amazing thing. And frankly, I'm glad my brain decided to make balloons a thing. I wouldn't trade this for anything. I love it.

I've pretty much always been fascinated with balloons to some degree. When I was a kid, I always thought balloons looked pretty and fun, but they also kinda scared me. I was a very nervous kid, and I HATED sudden loud noises. I was always very uncomfortable when balloons were around because I knew someone nearby was eventually gonna pop one and startle the shit out of me. This anxiety persisted into my teenage years, and I even still have a degree of it to this day. As for when I started to like balloons, well:

That depends on what you want out of the balloon. For me I want a balloon that is durable enough that it stays stable even when overinflated, and has enough of a neck that you can make it look like a pear or lightbulb. I also like the balloon to feel very smooth and silky when inflated. As for colors, solid pastel colors are the best (especially lavender or sky blue), but I'm fine with just about any color. The only exception is lime green, but that's only because the dyes used to make that color limit elasticity, which makes the balloon blow up smaller than other balloons. Also, I hate Chinese balloons. They smell AWFUL and are extremely fragile.

That's actually gonna be the next thing I buy.

I know that feeling all too well. Luckily, though, balloons help bring me out of it. That's kinda a significant part of why I love them so much.
