Yup they did not do a good job of paring down the Buu Saga with Kai at all. I don't remember it being this slow paced. I think Buu Saga just wasn't meant to be watched on a once a week basis, it was different when you were getting 5 eps a week. The loss of all the great Buu Saga music, Buu themes, SS3 theme.. is just fail as well.

Are you asking if it's good to make fun of like say.. Tokyo Ghoul? Ummm not from what I saw really. It's just every Shonen trope and cliche thrown into a single anime. Nothing as funny as the beams falling on Kaneki and not quite killing him but mortally wounding him to the point where he needed organs from the ghoul Rize to live. Organs which were somehow undamaged despite her wounds being fatal. Just the way the doctor planned. All he had to do was wait until they were at exactly at the right spot then drop the beams, then perform an illegal surgery with the help of about a dozen hospital staff members who don't mind putting the organs of an obvious ghoul into a human being. But yeah the tropes I remember were.... He has no powers in a world where everyone has powers! MHA He's an orphan... Naruto? Something about demons and a sword.. Inuyasha! He wants to be the Pirate ... Ninja... Paladin... Wizard king! One piece, Naruto. Blue exorcist. One brother is refined and responsible while one isn't! Blue exorcist and others I'm sure. I think i dropped Knights and Magic after 5 or 6 eps... I'm gonna force myself to finish it, it wasn't that bad. Hell it's better than any of the Gundams we've had on Toonami. But since they have now established that they will air anything... how about "In another world with my smartphone?" I wouldn't put it past them. Also ... Toonami has shown that it can get the big names in anime. Super, Jojo, Black Clover, Tokyo Ghoul, SAO, One Punch man...... It's just that most of their choices are bad. So we can't keep blaming competition for the reason Toonami is tanking.

I still rate Casshern Sins as the most boring anime I've ever seen. The ridiculous ending doesn't help either. Obviously they needed quality controlaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

I saw a few eps subbed, it was bad. Even if the dub fixes this it's not the shows most pressing issue. Oh and Super actually gets good.... at episode 110. That's why all the sub watchers are talking about it now. That was the first fight in Super I've actually seen that recaptured the magic of the original DBZ. Seriously just skip the dub and go watch 110 now, you'll thank me. But getting a show that takes 110 episodes to dish out one good fight... not a recipe for ratings success. Oh and I disagree with airing TG despite it's popularity. It was from 2014, and all the fans had already seen it. The fans didn't even like the second season. In terms of quality, it was garbage. Why would you want your anime block associated with garbage? To top it off, it didn't bring in good ratings or anything. Not awful, but the same pretty much any random show could have done after Jojo.

Because Toonami was a big hit when it went back on the air. When you're a hit you can talk about past decisions that were bad. When all of your decisions are bad, what can you say really? They've lost 50 percent of their viewers in a year, and their flagship show is dangerously close to breaking into the 700k's. They flat out admitted they didn't really check out GXP before airing it. Some stuff like Wulin warriors they were forced to air over their objections. But TG and Black Clover? This is just a lack of quality control. Pretty sure they've never spent any time listening to fans, except in polls.

Demarco reminds me of a politician when they're under attack. Nothing to see here! Everything's fine! We're going ahead just like we were before! These allegations are unfounded! If Toonami has another huge drop like they did over the last year, they're getting cancelled. Demarco can say "We have plans until 2021" but that doesn't mean squat.

And think, a few days ago anyone suggesting Toonami pick up Black Clover would not have been taken seriously. I mean come on guys, they're not gonna grab an anime that's become a reviled laughing stock in the span of 3 episodes right? Right???

Yeah Crunchyroll has been trying to promote Black Clover with ass kissing articles.... but its rating on Crunchyroll is horrid. To give you an idea how bad a 3.0 is, the widely reviled and considered worst of the season "hand shakers" got a 2.7. A pile of nonsense murder porn like "King's Game"... 2.5. Black clover is a 3.0. So it's basically in the same league as the worst of the worst. Oh and School days? 4.0

LOL Toonami. So Lazzo has control of show selections now and is intentionally trying to kill the block? I mean, you don't pick up a show that's this widely hated by accident. It's currently rated 3.0 out of 5 on Crunchyroll. For comparison SAO is rated 4.4, and Naruto Shippuden a 4.7. In addition to being considered a bad Manga, it's made by the same studio that made Tokyo Ghoul. Studio Pierrot. Much like TG even the people that like the manga say the anime adaptation is complete shit. I've watched about 4 episodes... and yeah it's boring... but not as unwatchable as TG. But honestly almost nothing happens in those episodes, and it already has flashbacks and filler. So yeah this seems like a baffling decision.... but I think what they're trying to do is jump on the next big thing before it blows up big like MHA and they can't get it anymore. But this is easily the worst decision Toonami has ever made. TG may have been awful, but it did have a fan base at least.

Yeah, and I have a hard time believing they can recapture the magic of the first one. They're also going to find out that FLCL is more of a cult hit, and won't translate into ratings.

76 percent for Super. 81 percent for Kai. 79 for Jojo. Those are some bad numbers. Really bad. Kai is no longer holding Super the way it used to. But since those 3 shows wiped out 60 percent of Toonami viewers.... it made all the other shows have really high retention!
