I know why a lot of girls aren't responding to my "How was your weekend?" messages on OkCupid. It's because I asked them out a week earlier and they blew me off to meet up with other guys, and now they feel guilty, especially if they went all the way to home plate and are being ignored now, so they can't respond to me knowing that they done **bleep**ed up!

Hunter x Hunter is so generic. I don't get the fanfare. I tried to get into it, but man it's boring. I'm thinking the people who rate it highly haven't seen very many shonen.

Not only did everything go chalk this weekend, but the favorites all won by sizeable margins. I think Houston can play New England to within single digits, but doubt they'll win. Any upsets next weekend? Seattle over Atlanta? Green Bay over Dallas? Green Bay's defense isn't good.

Guess GGG and Ferrer aren't really my all-time favs in boxing and tennis just my current ones. All-time I'd say Tyson and Sampras.

Not exactly. Give me a moment to present you with a hypothetical situation, so that I can enlighten you with my vast and expansive knowledge of human interactions. Suppose a guy asks a girl out, maybe through a dating site, and the guy possesses an assertive personality while the girl is reticent and painfully shy. The girl might really like the guy and acknowledge that he is the greatest man that she's met on the site, but she might need her time and space to think things over. The guy, unaccustomed to these feelings, presses on like a champ/warrior and goes in smoothly looking to "sweep the girl off her feet" and capture her heart. Because the girl is unable to convey her illogical desire for time and space through customary means, she'll take the legal route because her crippling shyness won't allow her to express herself otherwise. The restraining order will be a formality because, when she has enough time and space to come about, she'll tell the court that she no longer needs the order because she's ready to be the dating site guy's lovely girlfriend. <3

Ugh makes my blood boil to read that mediocre anime being mentioned next to Monster, the greatest of all-time.

I'm surprised that SEED wasn't a major hit because it was basically just a prettier version of Gundam Wing at its core. Neither of those is any good though. Think what killed it on TV was that it was only on once a week because that was right when Toonami was removed from CN weekdays. I think Gundam Unicorn has great promise. I was worried by the commercials that it would be full of the intolerable and senseless babble and histrionics that made series like IBO and Wing laughable, but it already seems to be harkening back to the good ole 80s and 90s UCs, even if the plot is fairly nebulous after the first episode.

G Gundam was excellent because it wasn't just some mindless smash and bash anime. The characters had their own personalities and each event was building up toward a coherent ending, unlike Gundam Wing and almost all the non-UC Gundams which involve kids with wacky hairstyles going on antsy, woe is me episode long filibusters and the series going nowhere plotwise for several episodes.

I can tell this series is probably a thousand times better than IBO, but I feel the first episode is like a jigsaw puzzle that's sloppily and incorrectly put together. So the episode's gonna end with the girl who needed her life saved acting like she's a badass all of a sudden and can go gung-ho status? I was expecting standard plot progression in the first episode because I figured this series would have it together from the outset, not to have to wait for everything to come together.

I'm surprised that a lot of people don't know the Universal Century timeline. 0079 is the year that Amuro's father creates the original Gundam and also the year of the One Year War (Mobile Suit Gundam). Between 0079 and 0093 (Char's Counterattack) are the vast majority of the other UC series which are mostly noteworthy stories involving insurrections against the new world order by Zeon, and that's really all one needs to know.

The artstyle is pretty weird. And what's with everybody being a little kid?
