  1. Because despite Toonami getting revenue each yeah, it's still crumbs compared to what CN proper gets.
  2. It's the weekend, AND a vacation, which means I am on a trip and couldn't tune in. In fact, I got a headache and had to bail on the internet entirely starting at 10:30. I can't BELIEVE the new FLCL is premiering next WEEK though!
  3. Its good enough for me to willingly checkout an all-CGI anime series and that's no small feat!
  4. If anything Kubo may just have made that Instagram for the upcoming movie.
  5. My Hero Academia 46
  6. Bleach was my DBZ essentially. It's the first shonen I followed all the way through (the dub, then sub) and is what got me joining all iterations of this board. So I will be excited if it finally gets animated.
  7. Of course the students are gonna rescue Bakugo without telling any adult, and of course Deku is gonna join them. But I love that here, everyone on the team is apprehensive. Essentially this entire episode covers the beginning of the heroes becoming villains. The 5 students are breaking rules and going against their own health to undertake a mission that is guaranteed for failure, and the UA is losing trust in the very people who send their kids there! The only thing that would make it better is if the League of Villains wasn't portrayed as being blatantly evil. Holy crud Deku. The one trait that All Might saw in him that ultimately gave him his quirk, that he rushes into a fight without thinking, and he couldn't even do THAT.
  8. http://toonamifaithful.com/toonami-faithful-podcast-exclusive-36-jason-demarco-interview/ It's been a long time coming but the team interviewed the head of Toonami once again now that the block has developed and new news can be talking about, including a jab at the Thundercats Roar complainers. Some highlights: - What will happen to DBZ Kai once it's done? "I can't answer that yet." Hmmmmm. - Confirmation that Turner is looking less at ratings to determine their business model. - They have gone to Japan once every few months and have now "talked with every big anime studio you can think of". - They are in the middle of developing one American show, and two anime shows. I assume the "Scavengers" pilot is the American one, which he hopes will develop into a series if it's a hit. Any of these productions can go on to air, shelved, or cancellation at any time. - CN initially didn't want to rerun the Thundercats 2011 show, so airing it on Toonami was a compromise that would result in CN proper having nothing to do with the rerun yet it can still run on TV to see if it would catch on again. We all know by now that it didnt go anywhere.
  9. http://toonamifaithful.com/toonami-faithful-podcast-exclusive-36-jason-demarco-interview/ The Toonami Faithful podcast hosted another interview with Jason DeMarco today, and the interview starts with his take on Turner Entertainment's choice to not focus on ratings as much anymore.
  10. One Piece 508 and 509
  11. Holy shit yes s'mores are incredible! More anime girlz should discover them.
  12. Typical guys failing to do research online. An animation artist at Dreamworks defended the team on Thundercats Roar and he's being bombarded with death threats because people think he's the showrunner. *_*
  13. Maybe Sports Network would benefit if they actually aired SCORES. I choose to be optimistic and see this as a good shift in trends. As long as companies make the right decisions, they can find a profit in migrating 100% to streaming.
  14. Wow. He just up and dissed all the thousands of Tumblr users who ever reblogged that image!! *_*
  15. I dont' remember the first time I watched CN. Probably when I was an early teen. Course when i was out of school, I began watching it a LOT. And then Toonami came back, and now I'm into Toonami even more than I was before it was canceled. .... aren't we supposed to be posting hot women?
  16. kay .... still doesn't acknowledge how this upcoming show will be CGI.
  17. FYI 2003 was when Interstella 5555 came out. You likely never saw marketing for it because Adult Swim has always been very hush-hush or gonzo about everything. Even today they only market Toonami on Adult Swim and occasionally on CN proper, with NO ads on any other network.
  18. I am also .... up there. Though I been told I look young for my age.
  19. Well you gotta see Interstella 5555! It's an hour-long animated .... thing.... featuring Daft Punk's entire album, Discovery.
  20. Indistinguishable from anime?? This says the show is gonna be made in CGI, like RWBY, and RWBY while getting just as much praise as any other anime out there, isn't exactly the pinnacle of computer animated perfection. PLUS that article has no images of how the show is gonna look. So until we get a sneak-peek or some key visuals, I will reserve my judgment of said description.
  21. And another difference is that the powers that be ACTUALLY WANT to get rid of it.
  22. Moreso animators are among the least respected and poorest treated workers in the entertainment industry and they believe being louder compensates for their status.
  23. So they end Super, do a movie, and then just do ANOTHER anime on another DBZ story? So why even cancel Super? Why just postpone it?
