  1. Israeli strike on Gaza targets, likely kills, Hamas leader Mohammad Deif https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-810137 "mohammad Deif, the leader of the Izzadin al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas's military wing, was targeted in an airstrike in the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza, Israel's Army Radio reported on Saturday. A senior source noted that there was a high likelihood that Deif was killed in the strike, but that confirmation was, as of yet, forthcoming, Israeli state broadcaster KAN reported. In a joint IDF and ISA activity, the IDF's Southern Command and the Israeli air force struck an area where two senior Hamas terrorists and additional terrorists were hiding among civilians, the IDF later reported. The location of the strike was an open area surrounded by trees, several buildings, and sheds." Woooo boy, if this is true this is a big get. Hes the #2 in Gaza, behind only Sinwar. Getting him would be massive.
  2. That is an abomination and must be destroyed at all costs.
  3. Heres the article https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/12/us/politics/biden-donors-money.html?smid=tw-nytimes&smtyp=cur "Some major Democratic donors have told the largest pro-Biden super PAC, Future Forward, that roughly $90 million in pledged donations is now on hold if President Biden remains atop the ticket, according to two people who have been briefed on the conversations." If this holds, then its over. Either Biden drops out to release the funding, or he stays in the race but lacks the financial support to be competitive.
  4. So the press conference yesterday.......It wasnt a total disaster, but it also wasnt some sort of shining example of why people should be comfortable thinking Biden can make it another 4 years. I actually didnt think it was entirely horrible, but the problem for Biden are the two biggest soundbites to come out of yesterday. President Putin Vice President Trump Thats whats making the rounds, and thats what people remember from yesterday. Within minutes the memes were flying, and Trump was fundraising off of the VP Trump thing. Biden has always been a gaff machine, but when the entire world is wondering if his brains are mush he cant make those kind of gaffs. Yesterday was probably enough to keep Biden in the race, but not alter the trajectory of the race. Which is about the worst possible thing for Democrats right now because Trump is currently winning.
  5. The renewed push by Democrats to make Project 2025 a central piece of the election has started a ripple effect with memes like the one posted above flooding the internet. The above also has as much chance of happening as P2025 does. In other words, both are total crap and nothing more than a fever dream of some people with way to much time on their hands.
  6. He literally did the thing! This is absolutely hilarious.
  7. I only knew her from those two movies, but she was good in them.
  8. Did someone say cocksucker? For those who dont know, that guy on the right is Harry Sisson. The single most shameless Biden supporter on the internet.
  9. This feels like an area where some absolutely crazy stuff could happen, and each state will handle it differently.
  10. So what happens if they hold this convention, nominate Biden, then Biden has to drop out? Legitimately asking here. Does it mean that places like Ohio put Biden on the ballot, even if he is not the nominee?
  11. See, this is part of the fundamental problem with current Democratic messaging about this election. We are being told that democracy is at stake, that our entire country might collapse, that Trump is literally Hitler, and if Democrats dont win it will be the last election ever. A lot of this messaging is recycled from past elections, but thats besides the point. The point is we are being told all these things, yet their actions arent matching the words. Hell, even Biden said he would be OK if he lost as long as he knows he gave it his all. Thats not the action of a man who thinks that Literally Hitler is one step away from the White House. If Democrats truly believed their rhetoric they would stop at no ends to boot Biden from the race and find someone younger, more energetic, and with a better chance of winning. Their rhetoric is great for energizing the base and for fundraising, but its just rhetoric.
  12. This is the problem that Biden is facing. National polling is showing Trump with a lead, and it gets worse at state level where things really matter. If Trump picks up the 3 states that are moving in his direction, and holds his 2020 states, then he just needs to find 2 EVs somewhere to win. Any combination of PA, VA, MI, WI, MN, or NH gets him over 270, and back in the White House. Trump currently leads in all of those states except MN, VA and NH according to RCP.
  13. What an absolutely wild timeline we are in. Im convinced that the moment that changed things for Trump was when Biden insulted his golf game at the debate. Just like how Obama making fun of Trump at the correspondents dinner convinced him to run in the first place, Biden made it personal. Trump has been remarkably restrained since the debate while Democrats are in pure chaos. Previous versions of Trump would do anything he can to step on his own feet and bring media attention back to him, but not now. Hes staying relatively quiet while Democrats are in open revolt.
  14. Its not a good sign for Biden when the first interviewer he interacted with in a long time is saying he cant serve 4 more years.
  15. Not just the NYT, WSJ just reported the same thing, and their reporting is saying that Pelosi is asking for Dems to hold off until after the NATO summit and then try and convince Biden to drop out.
  16. Citing losses and destruction, Hamas figures in Gaza urge leaders to strike deal https://www.timesofisrael.com/citing-losses-and-destruction-hamas-figures-in-gaza-urge-leaders-to-strike-deal/ "Several senior Hamas figures in Gaza have urged the terror group’s exiled political leadership to accept the ceasefire and hostage deal proposal championed by US President Joe Biden, according to internal communications seen by The Associated Press. The messages, shared by a Middle East official familiar with the ongoing negotiations, described the heavy losses Hamas has suffered on the battlefield and the dire conditions in the war-ravaged territory. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to share the contents of internal Hamas communications. The official shared two internal Hamas communications, both written by senior officials inside Gaza to the group’s leadership in Qatar, where Hamas’s political leader Ismail Haniyeh is based. The communications, from May and June, suggested that the war had taken a toll on Hamas fighters, with the senior figures urging the group’s political wing abroad to accept the deal despite the reluctance of Yahya Sinwar, the group’s leader in Gaza." Good news! The IDF has been so successful that Hamas fighters are wanting their leaders to accept a deal with Israel. The IDF has absolutely decimated the fighting ability of Hamas, and there are local uprisings happening all over Gaza against Hamas rule. If Hamas wants to maintain any control over Gaza they have to accept peace so they can try and keep the locals suppressed. If not, then the locals are going to continue to rise up and can overthrow Hamas. Things are looking really good right now.
  17. IDF launches new operation in Gaza City, troops raid UNRWA compound used by Hamas https://www.timesofisrael.com/idf-launches-new-operation-in-gaza-city-troops-raid-unrwa-compound-used-by-hamas/ "The Israel Defense Forces launched a new operation early Monday morning in southern neighborhoods of Gaza City, following what it said was intelligence of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad infrastructure and terror operatives in the area. Palestinian media outlets reported that Israeli ground forces advanced into Gaza City’s Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, following a large wave of airstrikes. Tel al-Hawa is located in the south of Gaza City, close to the Netzarim Corridor, where the military maintains a semi-permanent presence. The corridor, built around a road south of Gaza City, enables the IDF to carry out raids in northern and central Gaza while allowing it to control access to the north for Palestinians seeking to return after fleeing south. It also enables Israel to coordinate deliveries of humanitarian aid directly to northern Gaza." The IDF has adopted new, and ridiculously successful, tactics in Gaza. They are identifying the C&C centers for Hamas, clearing them out, then leaving the position to wait for them to be reoccupied. Once they are they go back in for another round of eliminating terrorists. Its proving to be highly effective at eliminating Hamas terrorists and commanders.
  18. CNN with a great explanation of what is happening with the polls right now. Trump is in a position that no Republican candidate has been in since George Bush in 2000. No GOP candidate has led at this point in the polling for nearly 25 years. As it stands today, there's a very real possibility that Trump could win the popular vote. CNN also disproves the myth among Democrats right now that the polls are just under sampling them and they will outperform the polls. If anything, they are actually under reporting on Trumps support. Trump has outperformed the polls every time he was on the ballot, +3 in 2016 and +5 in 2020. The whole idea that the polls need to be "adjusted" to account for under represented Democrats is the same kind of thinking that Romney supporters had before he lost to Obama. Since the debate there has been a consistent shift amongst most polls toward Trump. The general shift has been around 3 points, which is enough to get Trump back into the White House. Even polls that typically favor Democrats are showing Trump with a lead. Its true that polls are only a snapshot in time, and things can change, but this is also not a normal election. Trump has been leading for a while now, both have a track record to run on, and both candidates images are pretty set. It would take something truly historic to fundamentally alter the trajectory of this race right now. Biden isnt going to get any younger, and Trump isnt going to be less of an asshole.
  19. Its amazing watching reporters actually do their job after years of taking a vacation. Watching them suddenly realize what most of us have been saying for years is truly a sight to behold.
  20. President Biden’s physician met with Parkinson’s disease specialist in White House "top Washington D.C. neurologist had a meeting with President Biden’s personal doctor at the White House earlier this year, visitor logs reviewed by The Post show. Dr. Kevin Cannard, a Parkinson’s disease expert at Walter Reed Medical Center, met with Dr. Kevin O’Connor, and two others at the White House residence clinic on Jan. 17, according to the records, which emerge as questions continue to swirl about the 81-year-old president’s mental health in the wake of his debate debacle last week with former President Trump. Dr. John E. Atwood, a cardiologist are Walter Reed, was also in the 5 P.M. meeting, the White House visitor logs show." https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/other/president-biden-s-physician-met-with-parkinson-s-disease-specialist-in-white-house/ar-BB1pvSst We deserve some answers from the WH on whats going on. Forget if he is healthy enough to run for relection, are we into 25th Amendment territory?
  21. Democrats are starting to leak some post-debate internal polling, and its brutal. Do I fully believe this? Nah, not really. This screams a combination of trying to scare the Democrat base into holding their nose and voting for Biden as well as a potential effort to get Biden to drop out. However, this does line up with other post-debate polling which has shown a 2% swing toward Trump. Multiple reputable polls are showing this same swing since the debate. Bidens performance last week has clearly hurt him, and no amount of gaslighting by the White House is going to convince people to not believe their eyes. When you look at 2020 and then today, all Trump needs is a 1% swing from 2020 to his direction to become President. Thats it. That would get him the EC win 272-266. The current RCP no tossup map has it 312-226 for Trump. Biden is clearly in deep, deep, trouble as of today. Can he turn things around? Bidens biggest enemy now is time, so its not likely, but his opponent is also Trump and that idiot has a remarkable ability to fuck things up. So Trump might blow his own campaign up and save Biden in the process.
  22. That is, quite literally, the exact opposite of how our government works. Congress creates laws and regulations, the Executive branch enforces them, and the Legislative branch interprets the law. Nowhere in our constitution does the Executive branch have the ability to create laws or regulations. Any of those agencies can give their recommendations to Congress, and then its up to Congress to decide if they are something that should be written into law and govern the life of Americans. Not some unelected bureaucrat, not a random alphabet agency, but Congress. Its just remarkable how hard of a concept this seems to be for the Left. The reason is pretty clear, but its just crazy how open everyone is with this.
  23. No, I would rather her not be anywhere near a position of power at any level. To your general point though, Congress does not have to defer to anyone. There are three co-equal branches of Government, and nowhere in there is there any mention of scientists or experts. Congress can completely ignore them, or they can take their advice and create laws. Scientists and bureaucrats can continue to do their work, they are just not prevented from creating rules and laws on their own. They have something important enough that it needs to be a law? Great, petition Congress to pass the law. A failure of one branch of government to function at the level someone might want does not mean that a shadow branch gets to fill the void. Want laws and regulations? Elect representatives who will do that.
