I've always wanted to build a portable Game Boy styled console with a Pi, buuuut it is also beyond my skill level, mainly on the soldering end of things. Figuring out the circuitry isn't that hard for me, because that's just point A to point B. I just don't currently have a good space to solder things just to learn how to do it well. But I have seen some cool shit, like bar top arcades, retro consoles, and home automation things. Hell, I even once saw a garden that was automatically watered with a Pi. Like there was all sorts of mechanisms hooked up to it and it ust told them what to do and when. It was neat.
