  1. Jacobin is a cosmopolitan, left-wing magazine that is pretty newish. But over the years, I've realized they publish some dumb crap. Dumb people pretending to be intellectual is their whole thing.
  2. I've seen people do it more than a few times. They will tweet an angry, super-serious statement like, "How DARE anyone do this?" and the statement/pic/video they are responding to is completely innocuous. Here's an example. They are apparently being sincere. That is, they are so wrapped up in their own ideologies they are angry about something that wouldn't make a normal person angry. Additionally, they just expect others to know what they are talking about.
  3. NYC rat stories are always fun. They're usually like, "It ran right at me, and I had to kick it. Anyway, when I left the bank..."
  4. The first time I saw a New York City rat, I was impressed.
  5. How you never talk to someone who definitely saw a mouse, but rather someone who thinks they saw a mouse? They're always like, "that grey blur that skittered across the floor, it was a mouse". Nature's speedsters.
  6. Me: sure, sure. Like always, I'm sure scary and gross things will happen, and I'll never fully understand the back story.
  7. Oh, I see. For you, Passover was something a lot more serious. Scary even.
  8. Wait. I have to go check acronym meanings. Edit: oh yeah. Happy birthday, @uhmmmm
  9. Yeah, this was kind of my point. There's a second Rugrats special about Hannukkah, and these collectively were my first popular culture exposure to Jewish religious ceremonies.
  10. It's uncanny. Try it. Ask them, "Are you thinking of Rugrats right now?"
  11. And there's a good chance they think of the Rugrats Passover special.
  12. I've found the following to be true as well. Despite a dubious reputation early on, Reddit has mellowed out over the years and is now full of normal people making mostly neutral or positive content. It's quite a story arc.
  13. About 4 o'clock.
  14. Pepperoni and cheese. If you want to get adventurous, extra pepperoni.
  15. This reminds me of the Archie Horror imprint. You think, "horror stories with Archie characters is going to be campy fun" but then they turn out to be seriously scary. To the point where it's off-putting.
  16. An adherent of the Analytic tradition, I see.
