This is a blessing for Genndy because there is absolutely no way this didn’t bomb in theaters. “One ticket to the movie about a dogs nutsack please!” Are words no one wants to utter. A Netflix release allows people to enjoy the film without the shame of physically have gotten into their car, driven somewhere, and paid money to watch a movie about dog balls.

A different article I read said it was getting a showing at Annecy and nothing more. Which since that is June 10-13, lead me to believe maybe it was going to replace Lazarus sometime in July. This article says it’s being entered into the “work in progress” section which makes it feel like it’s gonna need a lot more time in the oven. I don’t think it’s gonna be that simple. We are already seeing that no one is working together, the feds are all operating independently and getting in each others way. The cast is right to be skeptical of the plan just being “beat me in hide and seek and I won’t kill billions”. As it stands, we don’t even have proof of life for Skinner. Hopefully when we do get to the finish line and Axel asked what his real motivation was, we get something better than SAO’s iconic “idk lol”.

Which leads us to ask, if this wasn’t a way to stealth delete Sailor Moon, why not pull Naruto and SM on the 26th so this music video thing can air at a slightly more reasonable time right on the heels of premier content? With a bonus feature of not offsetting the blocks runtime for one week. Not like anyone would miss either show for one week. Whatever the case, with that sorted, we are now moving into the strike zone of CSE and BE ending. The post CSE schedule goes live next Sunday, so I would hope they have some kind of announcement this Friday. We are dying for any kind of news at this point so it would be nice if they didn’t take us down to the two week wire for once, especially if it’s another “we have nothing” schedule.

I don’t know what that is and I don’t think that I care either. I am very surprised that One Piece is still trucking forward with two episodes. This would have been a good excuse to preserve one. Bets on if Sailor Moon returns the following week?

Take a look at the April 26th schedule. In a break from the norm, Lazarus is listed with its proper episode for the night, while the rest of the schedule is blank. So we may have some kind of schedule update dropping tomorrow. Most logical option would be One Piece trimming down to 1 episode and the Lazarus sub sliding into the open slot. That’s a little earlier than the one month stated by Deadline, but that was never written in stone either. Naruto and Sailor Moon could be on their way out a bit earlier than expected. Considering they didn’t have the right date for DBZ leaving though, I don’t see them planning ahead for when this happens. And the least likely, maybe they are actually getting a new show? Seems a bit odd to start that on the 26th rather than waiting a few weeks for CSE and BE to end though.

It says the block is going till 4 so they must be going a bit longer than that. Though, this is not reflected in the online schedule, with the block still ending at 3:30 with Sailor Moon

I wish Toonami had new content! Just more evidence that the 10/10 they gave the game was a paid review.

I dunno man, I’m pretty sure The Kingsman 2 already did this plot. The whole prison breakout seemed really forced to make the MC look good, while also ignoring common knowledge about prison guards. Primarily that they don’t carry guns and don’t wear ties, for the exact reasons depicted here. Is that why Spike Jr escapes so many prisons? Because they are all ran poorly in the future? Lots of style, not much substance. Kind of what we expect from an episode 1 of a Toonami original. I just hope they didn’t blow all their style budget on that episode, because I doubt the substance level is gonna go up any.

I wouldn’t sign that check until the May schedule update. If they keep this up till May 17, that’s a 10 episode debt. They already paid one off the first week of the year, and the last 2 weeks of the year are always off, so that’s 7 more to pay off. A full series Lazarus marathon for 2 weeks is highly likely, so that’s 5 left. That’s a manageable amount still. If we get to the May shuffle and it’s still going double, they either bought extra or are burning through it irresponsibly and we will pay for it later. I’ll never understand why people ask for this when the block is in the state it’s in. It’s seven slots now and it sucks so hard, more slots just means more suck. They need to make what we have good before anyone talks about any form of expansion.

It’s been moved later since TNA Wrestling is airing. TBH I think they have already written off the block and are just airing out of whatever obligations were paid for. It shuffles around the schedule so much without warning there is zero hope of it building any kind of audience.

I believe Milhouee had his VA retire as well. Side cast they seem fine with replacing. When something happens to Homer, Marge, Bart or Lisa is when there will have to be a real talk about the future of the show. And I think we all know it’s probably gonna be Marge that forces the discussion.

Yea I ain’t sitting through an hour of rerun trash to get to two episodes of something I don’t care about. Ask me again in May if one or both of those reruns are replaced by a new show.

Ok time to place your bets 1. they are spoiling it 12 hours early because it’s an R&M advertisement and they need maximum eyes on it 2. they are pretending to spoil it with the most obvious choice for a prank but it either won’t be directly associated with S8, or won’t have to do with R&M at all

Here’s the main reason I don’t trust them. 5 episodes is a lot to hand out early. That’s right on the edge of half the show. AS didn’t hand those episode out to just anyone, they are going to people financially incentivized to at minimum, not say anything outright bad about the show. The age of being able to trust the word of any kind of pre release review is long gone. I’ll be there with everyone else forming my own opinion, and as I said, I truly do hope this is good.

Huh, I felt like the story was gonna be contained. I hope they don’t get too wacky for an S2. A lot of ways this good story can turn to a shit story if they pivot down the wrong angle. Maybe it’s just the angle, but is that white dude that is standing kinda have the same body fat as Marshall? If Toonami survives long enough, hopefully they will add it to the block a bit sooner than the halfway point. Toonami premier? I doubt it, but we can at least be within a week.

The difference is simple, anime generally doesn’t get handed out to review goobers to pre watch. Lazarus is an AS show so it’s working a little differently. TiR and C&R were just seasonal shows among the boatload there is 4 times a year. Since Toonami didn’t spoonfeed those to anyone, they just didn’t get discussed that much outside of diehard anime communities. Good luck criticizing Dandy in the presence of any Toonami fans who was there in 2014. You will be attacked for having the audacity to consider it anything less than 10/10. Among non Toonami viewers, opinions are much more varied. I hope Lazarus doesn’t suck, I really do. Especially since it’s gonna be the only show on the block for 2/3 it’s run minimum. But I also don’t trust the integrity of reviewers to go against the acceptable public opinion.

Gotta take that with a grain of salt though. No one wants to be the reviewer to say “this Watanabe project sux” because they will get absolutely destroyed by fanboys. It would have to be Uzumaki tier abysmal for someone to get up on that hill. Now, when the project is out to the masses, then if it sucks people will be more willing to say it because it’s more than just dude trust me bro. Plus, I stand by Ninja Kamui staying solid for 6 episodes until the CGI slop really started to take hold. Lazarus has to start AND end good for a W.

The more I see of this, the more it feels like Demarco just trying to make a Bebop fanfic with donut steel characters. He promised to not make a new Bebop season, he didn’t promise to not make a new Bebop entirely with Schmike Schmegal and his pals.
