Case reads like a get rich quick scheme. Neither Matt nor Augustina witnessed any of the claimed behavior, so it’s a stretch to claim either one of them is responsible in any way. So she made unverifiable claims, and is shocked people don’t just get fired because she asked them to be. Barely even news. She will probably cash out a couple mil settlement just to shut her up. This is super underwhelming news knowing his foot massage story.

This dude just wants to ignore the problem. Everything that is cited as Calarts trash has earned it. If your character has the beanmouth, you have already failed. You will notice no one ever bitches about Primal, because it actually checks the box of having its own style. Calarts slop is not “its own style” and that’s why those shows are rightfully roasted. But Genndy seems to be a dying breed of people with their own style so we end up with either Calarts garbo or pretend anime. And you can’t really blame people for going the pretend anime route since every single year anime eats up another slice of the market. What I wonder is now after seeing the finale, that absolutely reeked of “we know we aren’t getting a new season so let’s wrap it all up ASAP”, will S3 take advantage of the show being on AS? They clearly did not get their renewal notice until well into the move to AS. Or will they want to keep the tone for its demographic on Max? -

I never get this argument. Where are we racing to? The next poorly paced arc? Where people will complain it needs to be doubled up at all times to make any progress? Dont forget all the pointless delays that will surely come up. 2 weeks of Rick and Morty rerun marathon, probably dubbed? Yes sir. Halloween marathon? You know it. Other completely meaningless delays? Absolutely. It’s election year, maybe another Calamavote style event? I’d say November is when One Piece gets the double up treatment just to carry us into the new year. We have seen them coast as early as mid October so come November that’s only 5-6 weeks left in the year with regular Toonami nights to cover. -

We still have the Naruto opening coming up, but after that things are pretty tight. So here’s a pretty good guess at our Aug 17th schedule 12 - Rick and Morty Anime (sub) 12:30 - Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village 1 - One Piece 1:30 - Naruto Shippuden 2 - DBZ Kai 2:30 - Ninja Kamui 3 - ??? The question to ask, how do they wedge in Uzumaki on 9/28? The way I see it there is 2 options Cringe option - when Naruto ends, double up OP for however many weeks till Uzumaki takes 12:30 on the 28th Based option - actually get a new show to replace Naruto, and come 9/28 either drop Kai or do something to make sure Ninja Kamui ends the week prior. I know which one I prefer, but seeing as they are likely farting out the last puff of the budget on Swordsmith, I doubt we will be so lucky unless Aniplex sends it over with a bonus like they did with Lycoris. IFG remains in wildcard territory. None of the material thus far has implied a Toonami run. So it could end up somewhere else on the schedule, or it could premier Thursday and rerun on Toonami. -

Ok, I read the tweets explaining it wrong then. Thats marginally better. But that also means the first hour of Toonami will be subbed shows. That will be rough for whatever airs after it. I’d say there are two options. They either run dub then sub on Halloween, or run dub then HCC after, assuming they still have it. -

On an unrelated note, there was NO schedule update on Facebook today. So that basically confirms they will announce Swordsmith for 8/10 tomorrow night. -

Uzumaki on 9/28. Toonami does NOT get the premier, Thursday does. Really not inspiring confidence that this block has a future -

Is it keeping the nudity? Usually when an old series gets a modern remake, step number 1 is deleting all the nudity that made people like the show in the first place. -

Well that explains why they had to do fast damage control, this wasn’t their announcement to make. This feels like it could be its seasons fun meme show like Vending Machine Isekai or the current seasons deer girl show. Unusual main character. Hopefully Demarco keeps his dick beaters off of it as much as possible. The very first fight we see in the trailer being beamspam has me wary though. Probably something for next year. Since Viz is jointly responsible for cracking the whip, I don’t expect an Uzumaki repeat. -
Well, the most logical home for it would be on August 10th since it needs 2 slots its first week. The panel is on Saturday. Schedule drops are on Friday. So if Friday afternoon gets here and there is no schedule drop, we know what’s happening at SDCC.

Does it matter? AS announced it, intentionally or not. Only one they can be mad at is the intern who made the graphic. Thats it? Just an Aniplex expectation? That’s actually pretty reasonable.

I wouldn’t say so. They may want it to be full blown sloppy seconds before giving it a cable run. Though, I guess we said the same thing about Scavengers which managed to get itself cancelled before showing up on Toonami.

Pretty much everyone wants it to be on CN, but the hopium for that died when the AS festival flyer dropped with it on the list. And on that topic, that is this weekend I believe. Don’t write off the chance of IFG premiering at the same time as Rick. It’s definitely a show they probably don’t care enough about to premier solo. Double premier on August 10, then move to 12:30 on the 17th? Very possible. I had hopes Mashle was on their radar earlier in the year, but at this point it looks like another show they don’t even know exists. I’d say for logistical reasons, Dragonball Diaper will be a Jan 2025 thing. They will want a few dub episodes on backlog, and if it premiers in Japan in November, that starts running into holiday delay weeks both for Toonami and the studio, so better to save it. Best case scenario would be them not getting it at all, but we won’t be so lucky.

“Positive” prediction has a rerun replacing Shippuden, cutting us down to 3 premiers, Primal coming back ever, and Bebop getting beaten to death after literally almost 30 runs on the network
-
Doom investors when Sketch gives an honest “it’s over” scenario. Of course, this isn’t the kind of change that happens in a day, but I wonder if the current state of the block is telling of an impending future where they just throw in the towel on the network. Toonami not getting acquired content would be one of the first warning signs.

Block skips an entire arc of a show to get to its more popular arc faster, BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING GUYS EVERYTHING IS FINE STOP WORRYING. Should I warm up you guys clown nose and wig, or do you already have it on? As for Battlebots, I’m pretty sure ABC was airing Olympic coverage at that time. I don’t think pulling it did it any favors since it was cancelled after only 2 seasons and relegated to the much less competitive Discovery network. Which it does seem to thrive on. Since we are on the topic, shouldn’t this years season of Battlebots be announced by now? I want to watch Riptide make manbun sissy seethe some more.

Well that’s quite simple, this entire scenario only exists in your head. And even if it didn’t, Rewind is dying and can’t afford taking any time off and giving what few people watch it an excuse to not tune in. Back to the schedule, why Mugen Train? They already did that for New Years. Are they really that financially upside down in it? Anyway, can the 10th schedule please burn off the rest of Shippuden? They are really blue balling us here in the final stretch.

I doubt Naruto is the sole problem, just their next attempt at a solution. It reminds me of the short lived Chiller block. The first show did leagues better than the rest of the block, but still terrible against the rest of cable. 8 weeks of Kai re-re-reruns did no favors for Naruto airing after it. What’s frustrating is skipping episodes is a great idea. Just not now. Imagine back in May, Naruto starting at the first episode of the Mist arc. Naruto isn’t new to anyone watching Toonami in 2024, we didn’t need nor want to sit through the early setup. We should have went straight to the action.

No more speculation, it’s now Facebook official. No reason given, they are just doing it. Which means the ratings are dire.

Oh my bad, had the wrong expansion on the mind. That said, did anyone besides Owl really think the current expansion wasn’t temporary for this burnoff? Id love if the dub Rick encore got parked there, but I doubt we will be so lucky. Worst case we get a midnight run of it after the sub. Best case we have an all night marathon of the dub one week. I think the biggest question right now is Kai. We are at major schedule shuffle where it should be making the switch to being Rewind exclusive. However, we are also seeing signs that Rewind might not even make it to the end of summer. That concern may result in Kai not making the jump. Consider the following nightmare for the fall. 12 - Rick/Uzumaki (lol)/Suicide Squad 12:30 - acquired show 1:00 - One Piece 1:30 - Sailor Moon 2:00 - Naruto 2:30 - DBZ Kai If people don’t start watching Rewind, this is a very possible future.

The 3rd and the 10th will be non standard schedules, so that could be part of the reason if they are doing something special and it doesn’t fill the whole time. But, losing 3:30 makes sense. Its only purpose was to give space for the Ninja Kamui sub. It was assumed they kept it around for R&M, but now that isn’t the case so it’s going away. If that’s the case, it lowers the odds that the Demon Slayer burnoff was to get to the next arc which makes the standard schedule potential more grim. We should be getting the 3rd and 10th schedule by Friday. Going by this years patterns, probably Friday morning. Strategically it’s best not to say a word because that just calls more attention to it. Very few people are like us and looking at the schedule every week. Your typical brainless viewer will say to themselves “weren’t we in the Zabuza arc? Damn must have missed a week.” and then think nothing more of it. Plus, there is no good way to have TOM spin the change that doesn’t make the block sound like it’s already dying. I wonder if we will hear from Demarco on the matter. Or since it’s a negative development, he will just claim to not be involved with Rewind.

The good news on debate week was Toonami didn’t do significantly worse than usual, but rather cable news did immensely better than it usually does and pushed regular entrants off for the night. Something we may not have even noticed if the daily ratings still were being posted. Wont be surprised if Toonami itself takes a hit this week since the debacle happened just 8 hours prior to Toonami starting and had live updates all day and night. Since it will dominate news coverage, next Saturday will probably end up like debate week with much stiffer competition with more people watching the news.
