  1. that epiphany just put into perspective what I was misunderstanding I was thinking you and sponges (and the other people I've had this same argument with) were trying to say the state of being a man who is romantically or sexually attracted to other men was "made up" (or vice versa for straight people) but what you were actually saying (I assume) was that CALLING men who love other men "gay" is what was made up
  2. okay that much I'll agree with, the words, straight, gay, Bi and Lesbian themselves, yes, the words themselves are something society constructed as a way to contextualize the already existing feelings that people already felt natutrally, because Language is something society constructed as a way to communicate with other humans I was thinking the logic was that you were trying to say "all humans are pansexual" or "labels are bad" which is what pisses me off, labels are not inherently bad they're just how humans understand things, and I see that "labels are bad" mentality all over the faux SJW culture on tumblr
  3. I'm just saying a "social construct" is something you have to be taught, not something you just feel naturally, so I don't think that term applies to sexuality since sexuality is something you literally have no personal control over and cannot stop yourself from feeling (no matter what christianity says)
  4. I still think calling sexual attraction and love a social construct feels like you're saying it's a choice because it implies it's not actually something people personally feel in and of themselves but something society is teaching them to feel and now how they really naturally feel and you know that's bullshit because gay kids growing up see nothing but straight couples kissing in cartoons and we still end up gay basically saying it's a social construct means you're saying it's not natural, it's not something people would feel without being told to feel it
  5. I'm just saying if you say it's a social construct you're basically implying it can be "changed" or "fixed" and I don't like that implication, let people love who they love, stop trying to disprove that people's feelings are genuine
  6. it basically does, saying something is a social construct means it's something that society "made up" and that it wouldn't exist otherwise, or that it shouldn't you're basically saying that sexuality isn't real if you say it's a construct
  7. because people never make the argument that heterosexuality isn't real the same way they do about Homosexuality
  8. I feel the opposite way actually that saying sexuality and Gender is a "social constuct" is a form of Homophobia/Transphobia because it essentially means you're telling LGBT people that their sexual and gender identities are a "dillusion" and that they can and/or should "unlearn" it
  9. the same can be said of Gender and I agree on SOME level but not entirely because to say it's a social construct is a polite way of dismissing people's identities, you're essentially telling them that the way they feel and who they love is something they made up and that they could "Stop feeling that way if they wanted" because their sexuality "isn't real" and I fucking hate that
  10. supposedly some "scientist" "proved" that heterosexuality and Homosexuality are a myth because he hooked men up to an eye dilation sensor and determined that their eyes dilated when they looked at handsome men just the same way as when they looked at beautiful women ignoring the fact that human eyes dilate when we look at ANYTHING pretty or cute (including flowers and cute babies), and you can determine if something is nice looking regardless of your sexuality, despite what cultural norms teach you (I.e. you can tell when a person you don't wanna fuck is attractive)

    She's gone

    sorry for your loss
  12. agree'd, but, I'm just saying shitting specifically on the cal-arts style when it DOES work for SOME cartoons seems a little excessive
  13. didn't know him, still sad
  14. gee what a surprise that the author was racist against Koreans and Chinese (''>_>''), couldn't possibly have seen that coming
  15. Japan's answer to Rosanne apparently
  16. cause my commission flow has dried up a I don't wanna run out of money
  17. yeah that theory is fucking insane because I don't think the target audience for this show is immature enough that they'd get any benefit from being preached "morals" to show is still Homophobic though....if only because it's definitely working on a worldview that being gay is a bad thing, since both Mitsuru and Ikuno's gay crushes have been dismissed rather thoroughly and implicitly to their benefit (since he was much happier fucking Kokoro)
  18. honestly I prefer this place too you can post porn fanart here the abundance of trolls is unfortunate but at least the mods have kind of started taking care of them
  19. I'm gay, your rules and worldview don't apply to me
  20. you've never had a girlfriend you've had stalkees
  21. Pitch it to Netflix they'll greenlight fucking anything (I don't mean that as an insult I mean it literally as an option you can persue)
  22. I'd also like to point out that the Majority of CN's 90's shows used similar art styles as well so it's not so shocking that all their shows tend to look similar now Studios having a "house style" is fairly common in the world of animation because it makes their intellectual properties easily recognizable as being theirs
  23. that said this is actually interesting for a couple reasons because it means on SOME level Warner Bros. is actively trying to revive their classic catalogue again finally, and I mean in an ACTUALLY meaningful way, not like before when they were making DISGUSTINGLY BAD remakes of their old shows just to cash in on nostalgia, using existing IP's as members of the Gorrillaz is actually a VERY smart move because it guarentees some quality control, unlike as mentioned above giving control of an IP to a bunch of people who know absolutely nothing about that IP and hoping for the best what I am most curious about though is if this is going to extend to anything bigger, after all the Gorrilaz made their debut on Toonami
