  1. Finally saw the episode--freaking great! I predict that while Toonami's ratings may suck, Saturday night as a whole will be fine. And if you didn't get to see it, it airs every night this week at 10 PM and replays at 2:30 AM. Hopefully they'll replay some of the fun interstitials like the Meeseeks video game battle and the Gigantor spoof!
  2. Not only that, but those weeks in October and November that included Hellsing Ultimate episodes 5-8 got screwed by Dish customers losing their Turner channels. That's one reason why I hope Hellsing and Gurren Lagann get a second chance someday. (Well, Gurren's would be its 5th, but whatever).
  3. Let's see here: 4/29 originally 4/1 5/6 originally 4/8 5/13 originally 4/15 5/20 originally 4/22 Skip 5/27 6/3 originally 4/29 6/10 originally 5/6 6/17 originally 5/13 6/24 originally 5/20 Skip 7/1 7/8 originally 5/27 7/15 originally 6/3 7/22 originally 6/10 7/29 originally 6/17 But that may not be accurate because I'm thinking one of those gets skipped on the Japanese side for Golden Week anyway. It's possible at some point we might be only 3 weeks behind the Japanese broadcast! Back on Toonami's side, that means FLCL S2 WOULD cut into college football season IF it's premiering August 5th, but most big games won't be those 2 Saturdays. I'm thinking FLCL S2 will get promos/sneak peeks around AX and Comic-Con and then premiere July 29th.
  4. Be that as it may, I guess I'll attempt to rank these... #8: Dragonball Z Kai - A decent episode involving pint-sized fighters, but still, pint-sized fighters. #7: Ghost In The Shell - Sorry, still looks like crap. #6: Naruto Shippuden - Quite possibly the worst Jinchuriki in the series... #5: One Piece - AH, FEH FEH FEH FEH FEH! #4: Dragonball Super - Worst pregnancy announcement ever, but the Super Saiyan God is BORN!! #3: Hunter x Hunter - When your bosses want your head, and you have to keep a disguise, worst job EVER! #2: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - The last time JoJo and Caesar would trade blows... #1: Gundam Unicorn - The only show on the lineup with God-tier animation! Plus this episode was like the Walking Dead Season 7 premiere, with one key character death, then ANOTHER SURPRISE death!
  5. Depends on what type of electric guitar we're talking about. There were indeed acoustical guitars with pickups in the 1930's, but the Fender Telecaster and Stratocaster weren't invented until the late 1940's and early 1950's. The sound Kars was getting out of her legs was more akin to electric guitars invented around 1950's than those "archtop" hybrid guitars that came about back then.
  6. I don't see 11 PM during football season, but no reason to lose it in the summer. Of course the question is "what to air there?"
  7. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. But what of when Jack ends? Is Stardust Crusaders 11:30 material? Or maybe... BRYCE POWER HOUR BABY! I SUPPOSE another, possibly more realistic candidate for the timeslot Jack vacates is Gundam IBO Season 2. Also that would mean that after being banished to Midnight/12:30 for only 3 weeks, the Dragon Ball Hour most likely bumps back up to 11:30 as there ain't no way they're gonna try Gundam earlier than 12:30 again. But would they double up on Gundam with Unicorn still with 2 episodes left to go at 2 AM? Acquiring AOT only to air it at 12:30 directly replacing JoJo would be a huge waste, so I'm thinking there's no way they're doing that. But it's also possible (though quite idiotic if you ask me) that when Jack ends we simply lose 11 PM.
  8. SPECULATION SUNDAY, PART 2: In a thread I just made I discussed the idea of JoJo Stardust Crusaders replacing Jack, but would that REALLY make much sense? What else could possibly take the coveted 11 PM timeslot from Samurai Jack but... Don't get me wrong, I'm thinking AOT S2 would of course bump to 11 PM, but it's only right to follow that up with another Hard Hitter from 2017, and Super has sort of lost its magic. Therefore, my bold speculation is that Blue Exorcist Kyoto Saga is tapped to follow AOT on June 3rd. But would anyone want to see the 11 PM hour the Bryce Papenbrook Power Hour this summer? And would DB Super/Kai be OK at Midnight? After all, they're from 2015 and 2014 respectively.
  9. Good suggestion! If only I had a boner right now, but alas I do not.
  10. Krusty as Esidisi kills me!! This is freaking GOLD!!! > :D > :D
  11. We all know by now that JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Parts 1 & 2 haven't exactly set the world on fire with their ratings, and so it's being replaced by AOT S2 on April 29th, well not only that, but: 1. The Stardust Crusaders dub isn't ready to air yet, and... 2. Wanna strike while that damn iron's hot on more AOT, baby! But what does this mean for the future of JoJo? They have also said that they want to air Stardust Crusaders, but when and in what timeslot? Would taking a VERY brief sabbatical and coming back with a brand-spankin' new promo and timeslot be enough for it? I'm thinking AOT S2 will premiere at 11:30 and bump the Dragon Ball Hour down to midnight, then simply move up to 11 PM after Memorial Day for its last 8 episodes, and Stardust would make a great companion for that replacing Jack. But will it be ready by then? And would it do well at 11:30? Since consistency is good, it would not make much sense to kneejerk the DB Hour down to midnight on April 29th and back up to 11:30 on June 3rd. But by the same token, AOT at 12:30 makes no damn sense either since it IS a broadcast dub (in fact Toonami's 3rd ever), and in the pecking order would only come behind a world premiere (Jack). So since Super is from 2015, 11:30 with Super moving down to Midnight only makes sense. But when Jack ends, then what? Stardust Crusaders is much older so it only makes sense for AOT S2 to take 11 PM at that point, IF Stardust is coming in to replace Jack. But COULD that timeslot also go to another show. There is also the outside chance that Toonami will simply lose 11 PM when Jack ends, but that doesn't seem to make much sense in the middle of the summer on the day that it moved UP to 11:30 last year! But maybe another hard-hitter from 2017, like the return of Aniplex to Toonami with Blue Exorcist Kyoto Saga, while not QUITE a "broadcast dub" but still speedy, would make more sense at 11:30 than Stardust. After all, at the very least this cour of AOT is only 12 episodes, and when it's over, that makes room for Stardust. A full cour break may be the best strategy after all.
  12. Not to mention the dual Family Guy that would have gone before them! I seriously thought they were going to cut that out when Family Guy was supposed to come on. I guess I underestimated their stupidity! On the flipside, it WAS a good excuse to not air new episodes of these shows on the same night as the Final Four!
  13. Actually, I've noticed Episode 10 was like this as well. I don't remember about 7 and 4, but I think they might have been too. Point is, for some reason they need the longer recap on the first episode of each OVA. But there is also a point coming up where one OVA will end in the middle of an episode and another will begin. Can't remember if it's the boundary between OVAs 5 & 6 or OVAs 6 & 7, but I THINK it's 5 & 6. OH HEY, PAGE 5!
  14. Wow, this made it to 5 pages and Gundam didn't? I'm at a loss for words!
  15. If we get to Page 5 I'll post some cool images from this episode...
  16. Yeah, I'm not looking forward to Tuesday morning; if it somehow does well I'll be pleasantly surprised. That being said, I totally expect 8 PM to blow away what Super usually does, though from there it's probably downhill. How many crows you got in that suit, Itachi?
  17. Yep, THIS just happened! Suck it, Naruto!
  18. Yeah, 2016 was the year of Sasuke Shippuden on Toonami! 2017 we go back to Naruto!
  19. Boy, this late ass timeslot really killed discussion of this show! We're on page 4 and we spent most of that talking about how mochi isn't a gay moose...
  20. You're no gay moose; THIS is a gay moose!! This might be the worst image I've ever reposted...
  21. I thought that was odd too. There was one scene in EVA 1.11 where we were treated to a close-up of Shinji's butt for like 10 seconds for like no reason. BRIGHT NOA!!!
  22. Fun fact: this is the first episode I don't own on DVD.
  23. It might take a break after 52, but I kinda hope not. There are 148 total. That's 49*3+1, so I don't know if that's where the break may be. If it takes a break for anything, I'd want it to be Blue Exorcist Season 2. Or maybe JoJo: Stardust Crusaders.
