  1. So this happened: He called Joel "Aus-teen" as Rick Sanchez!! Starts hilarious, then goes completely off the rails!
  2. Adult Swim headquarters is in Atlanta, nowhere near the coast. Why in the hell would they be under an evac order? There are some cities in Georgia along the coast that may be forced to evacuate but it won't be until like Sunday night or Monday. Stop making stuff up. In other news, the marathon actually did pretty decent by current standards! http://programminginsider.com/ratings/final-nationals/saturday-final-nationals-florida-state-alabama-abc-sets-time-college-football-opening-weekend-game-viewer-record/ MARATHON TOTAL VIEWERS RETENTION 8:00 PM Dragon Ball Super 511,000 8:30 PM Dragon Ball Super 468,000 (91.59%) 10:30 PM Family Guy 1,033,000 11:00 PM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 838,000 (81.12%) 11:30 PM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 718,000 (85.68%) 12:00 AM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 709,000 (98.75%) 12:30 AM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 700,000 (98.73%) 1:00 AM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 613,000 (87.57%) 1:30 AM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 578,000 (94.29%) 2:00 AM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 521,000 (90.14%) 2:30 AM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 481,000 (92.32%) 3:00 AM Attack on Titan #31 455,000 (94.59%) 3:30 AM Samurai Jack S5E10 422,000 (92.75%) TOTAL VIEWERS AVERAGE - 623,667 Well, it's better than the last DBZ Kai marathon, I'll give it that! Also the highest average in nearly 2 months! MARATHON ADULTS 18-49 RETENTION 8:00 PM Dragon Ball Super 229,000 8:30 PM Dragon Ball Super 229,000 (100.00%) 10:30 PM Family Guy 646,000 11:00 PM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 521,000 (80.65%) 11:30 PM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 469,000 (90.02%) 12:00 AM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 453,000 (96.59%) 12:30 AM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 444,000 (98.01%) 1:00 AM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 399,000 (89.86%) 1:30 AM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 374,000 (93.73%) 2:00 AM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 333,000 (89.04%) 2:30 AM DBZ Kai Final Chapters 307,000 (92.19%) 3:00 AM Attack on Titan #31 287,000 (93.49%) 3:30 AM Samurai Jack S5E10 277,000 (96.52%) TOTAL VIEWERS AVERAGE - 386,400 The whole 8-piece "bucket" of DBZ KFC got over 300K 18-49, and Attack on Titan afterward did slightly better than usual, too. The Samurai Jack finale didn't quite match Episode 9, the highest of the 3:30 AM showing, but it still achieved the 2nd highest 18-49 rating of its 3:30 AM run.
  3. I guess we just won't get to Yorknew on the weekday stream, since Hunter x Hunter did NOT advance past episodes 31-35!
  4. I'm really not sure why we haven't gotten an original animated music video in a while. What was the most recent one?
  5. True. But I daresay Toonami fans will still watch Toonami outside of evacuated areas. The city of Miami will probably be evacuated, but effects on places north of there are unknown since the storm won't actually hit until Sunday or Monday.
  6. ...and it was probably the biggest artist on Adult Swim Toonami, though you could argue that Death Cab For Cutie and mainstays Run The Jewels are almost as big, I suppose: It aired during I believe Episode 2 of the Michiko & Hatchin marathon. Now Music Videos this big COULD air at 11:15 in a future marathon, not to mention Countdown!
  7. You mean the marathon that just aired last Saturday, or you mean this week's lineup, which goes up against a UFC event and college football? And then no relief on 9/16 as there's a boxing match, plus college football. Toonami simply needs to adapt to this! There's maybe 5 good Saturdays per year with nothing going on anymore!
  8. The on-air schedule was back on track, as we indeed got Attack on Titan episode #31 "Warrior" last Saturday night as the side dish after the 8-piece bucket of DBZ: KFC!! But now it's Hunter x Hunter episodes 31-35, which also streamed like 3 months ago. We STILL can't get to the Kurapika/Phantom Troupe/Yorknew arc on weekday stream! Hopefully, we'll advance to 36-40 on Wednesday and that arc will FINALLY begin on the weekday stream! But in the meantime, why not enjoy the Kastro/Hisoka fight that graced our TV screens in December/January? And then witness Hisoka's fightboner for Gon? [could be worse]
  9. Can't fault them for trying. I mean, 12 million Americans watched exactly that last Sunday on HBO!
  10. Where have you been? This has been known for about a week!!! So this was attempted murder, but merely caused them to transform!!
  11. Wow, this discussion is pretty dead tonight! Maybe everyone's freaked out about North Korea? Understandably so...
  12. SHOWTIME for Attack on Titan!! Episode #31: "Warrior"
  13. Damn, this discussion is dead... But what if you could pull off part of your belly and start blasting people with it?
  14. BUU EAT YOU! BUU EAT YOU! BUU EAT YOU! BUU EAT YOU! BUU CAN'T WAIT TO EAT YOU! YOU TURN INTO COOKIE!!!
  15. Yep, our 8-piece bucket of DBZ KFC comes with a side of Attack on Titan and a dessert of Samurai Jack's final episode! [it's finger lickin' good!!]
  16. I'm inclined to agree with you, but I feel one of my roles here is to take the aggressive pessimism and add a dose of optimism!
  17. Outlaw Star seems to have done good for the back-end. Perhaps banking on more of that with Bebop is a solid move after all! On 9/9/17, for the first time since 1/31/15, Toonami will run for 5 hours AND have 10 different shows!
  18. Not 100% true, as some West Coast games go to 1 or 2 AM ET--of course the West-Coasters have their own Toonami, which I get too, just not in HD. But most of the east coast games are over by 11 PM ET or at least Midnight. However, Live PD is indeed on hiatus through College Football season.
  19. Looks like "middle-D," like Shippuden was until just recently.
  20. Considering FUNimation has Trigun, I'd say there's actually a pretty good chance of that!
  21. Actually, the AOT rerun is dead last, at 3:30 AM. In light of this, I'm thinking "Charge" as the side after the 8-piece bucket of DBZ KFC is a mistake, and it's really "Warrior" that will air, or it's right and AOT will only air once at 3:30 and will be replaced by GITS:SAC 2nd Gig or something like that. With Jack at 3:30 AM since 7/1, Toonami might as well have expanded to 4 AM then. The only reason I can see that it didn't is because they would have to have made new bumps for its front end that 11 PM didn't have. However, now whether AOT S2 ends 9/16 or later, they'll have to do it for the new show, so I gotta say I totally don't get what the point of not doing that was.
  22. Cool! Guess the network's actually fine with the ratings! Who's ready for the 5-hour challenge??
  23. How do you KNOW that?! http://programminginsider.com/ratings/final-nationals/saturday-final-nationals-mayweather-mcgregor-projected-set-new-pay-per-view-buys-record/ Oh. Family guy at 1156K indeed means DBS dropped OVER 300K. Let that sink in. Also, a mere 71% retention rate in total viewers, and as for adults 18-49... ADULTS 18-49 RETENTION 8:00 PM Dragon Ball Super (NPOT) 283,000 8:30 PM Dragon Ball Super (NPOT) 357,000 (126.15%) 10:30 PM Family Guy (NPOT) 683,000 11:00 PM Dragon Ball Super 505,000 (73.94%) 11:30 PM DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters 472,000 (93.47%) 12:00 AM JJBA: Stardust Crusaders 364,000 (77.12%) 12:30 AM Tokyo Ghoul 326,000 (89.56%) 1:00 AM Hunter × Hunter 311,000 (95.40%) 1:30 AM Lupin The 3rd 267,000 (85.85%) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden 297,000 (111.24%) 2:30 AM Outlaw Star 283,000 (95.29%) 3:00 AM Attack on Titan Season 2 282,000 (99.65%) 3:30 AM Samurai Jack (NPOT) 287,000 (101.77%) TOONAMI TOTAL VIEWERS AVERAGE - 345,222 I'm gonna assume that 387K for Samurai Jack is a typo, because if not, the ratings shares (tenths and hundredths) just don't match up. Either way, it doesn't affect Toonami's average of 345K. That mind-boggling decline of almost 180K for DBS correlates with the fact that Jason alluded to it possibly losing topicals on Pre-Flight this week. Hopefully, another, BIGGER show is coming in to take its place that will get topicals instead so it can move down to 11:30, and JoJo would also drop to 1:30 AM. If I could "shuffle the deck", here's what I'd go with on 9/9: 11 PM NEW EMERGENCY ACQUISITION SHOW TO BE ANNOUNCED AT DRAGON*CON 11:30 DBZ KFC 12 AM Dragon Ball Super 12:30 Hunter x Hunter 1 AM Tokyo Ghoul - Soon to be replaced with Gundam IBO S2 1:30 JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders 2 AM Shippuden 2:30 Outlaw Star 3 AM Attack On Titan on 9/9, replaced with Lupin on 9/16 But I digress. Back to the ratings: CURRENT SHOW AVERAGES Total Viewers Dragon Ball Super (Prime Time Premieres) - 836,800 (30 episodes) Dragon Ball Super (Toonami) - 1,037,871 (31 episodes) Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters - 960,844 (32 episodes) JoJo's Bizarre Adv.: Stardust Crusaders - 660,400 (5 episodes) Tokyo Ghoul - 668,050 (20 episodes) Hunter × Hunter - 772,453 (64 episodes) Lupin the 3rd - 499,400 (10 episodes) Naruto: Shippuden - 829,073 (171 episodes) Outlaw Star HD - 459,500 (2 episodes) Attack on Titan Season 2 Rerun - 396,000 (5 episodes) Adults 18-49 Dragon Ball Super (Prime Time Premieres) - 410,633 (30 episodes) Dragon Ball Super (Toonami) - 628,581 (31 episodes) Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters - 580,469 (32 episodes) JoJo's Bizarre Adv.: Stardust Crusaders - 402,200 (5 episodes) Tokyo Ghoul - 407,400 (20 episodes) Hunter × Hunter - 461,313 (64 episodes) Lupin the 3rd - 293,500 (10 episodes) Naruto: Shippuden - 459,946 (154 episodes) Outlaw Star HD - 279,000 (2 episodes) Attack on Titan Season 2 Rerun - 229,500 (5 episodes) Adults 18-34 (Estimated) Dragon Ball Super (Prime Time Premieres) - 263,379 (29 episodes) Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters - 391,563 (32 episodes) JoJo's Bizarre Adv.: Stardust Crusaders - 273,400 (5 episodes) Tokyo Ghoul - 272,500 (20 episodes) Lupin the 3rd - 202,333 (9 episodes) Hello, averaging less than 500K viewers, Lupin! Shows airing in the midnight hour are in danger of falling below 400K viewers 18-49 on average. Tokyo Ghoul is almost over so it's less likely but JoJo: Stardust Crusaders is especially vulnerable.
  24. Toonami wouldn't play the OVAs. They didn't play the ones from AOT and KLK, so why would Fairy Tail's be an exception? I wonder if they're trying to make some kind of deal to play a dub of the Super OVA though, even though it would be a crapload later in the series? They did do the One Piece Gold thing, right before losing One Piece, so hmm... Believe it or not, Show Buzz Daily's update now includes the total viewers from Dragon Ball Super at 11 PM, so we now have: TOTAL VIEWERS RETENTION 8:00 PM Dragon Ball Super (NPOT) 557,000 8:30 PM Dragon Ball Super (NPOT) 679,000 (121.90%) 11:00 PM Dragon Ball Super 825,000 11:30 PM DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters 779,000 (94.42%) 12:00 AM JJBA: Stardust Crusaders 595,000 (76.38%) 12:30 AM Tokyo Ghoul 548,000 (92.10%) 1:00 AM Hunter × Hunter 524,000 (95.62%) 1:30 AM Lupin The 3rd 448,000 (85.50%) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden 510,000 (113.84%) 2:30 AM Outlaw Star 463,000 (90.78%) 3:00 AM Attack on Titan Season 2 451,000 (97.41%) 3:30 AM Samurai Jack (NPOT) 420,000 (93.13%) TOONAMI TOTAL VIEWERS AVERAGE - 571,444 ADULTS 18-49 RETENTION 8:00 PM Dragon Ball Super (NPOT) 0.22 8:30 PM Dragon Ball Super (NPOT) 0.28 (127.27%) 11:00 PM Dragon Ball Super 0.39 11:30 PM DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters 0.37 (94.87%) 12:00 AM JJBA: Stardust Crusaders 0.28 (75.68%) 12:30 AM Tokyo Ghoul 0.25 (89.29%) 1:00 AM Hunter × Hunter 0.24 (96.00%) 1:30 AM Lupin The 3rd 0.21 (87.50%) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden 0.23 (109.52%) 2:30 AM Outlaw Star 0.22 (95.65%) 3:00 AM Attack on Titan Season 2 0.22 (100.00%) 3:30 AM Samurai Jack (NPOT) 0.22 (100.00%) So things didn't get much worse than Lupin at 1:30, and it was the lowlight of the block for 18-49, which is sad because it was a really good episode, but I guess Lupin just isn't agreeing with Toonami viewers? Shame, because if it were doing a bit better, Toonami might even get a world premiere of Part 5 next year! Could the relatively strong finish be the effect of Outlaw Star? The last 3rd of the block is certainly doing better over the last 2 weeks (468.3K) vs. the 3 before (415.9K). But here comes the DBZ KFC marathon, so now all bets are off! http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-8-26-2017.html#comment-177391
