I'd say, quite "Frankxxly," that one's a toss-up. I think we're talking 2018 for it, and Toonami would potentially have an open slot for it. After all, they DID air Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill, and it's in the same pedigree as those. After missing out on MHA, you've gotta think they're a little sore. Yes, Netflix has LWA but it's one of their co-pros. Would a World Premiere of Frankxx be a good idea to replace Dragon Ball Z Kai? Ohhh yes, it would! Co-funding a Crossbone Gundam series? That's a new one on me. Have Netflix and Sunrise EVER really worked together before? That's not counting InuYasha: The Final Act, which aired on Toonami first before coming to Netflix, of course! (Yes, I realize it was on Neon Alley first...)

Netflix may have just acquired the WORST anime co-pro ever!
OwlChemist81 replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Anime & Manga
Hopefully Discotek rescues that from Manga someday! Then again, we could get Redline as our DST special this year as Toonami opens its business with Manga... Say, what the hell ever happened to Manga, anyway? They used to have Rob Zombie's Haunted World of El Superbeasto streaming on their site for free! -

Yeah, you have a point. Netflix pisses me off. But there's one thing that Netflix CAN'T touch and that's [as]/Toonami co-pros, which is why they should keep going with them. And since DBS appears to be entrenched in that 11 PM timeslot for the long haul, air those AFTER DBS so they can benefit the rest of the block. But anyway, here is the latest show averages roundup; been a while since I've done one of these: CURRENT SHOW AVERAGES Total Viewers Dragon Ball Super (Prime Time Premieres) - 830,125 (32 episodes) Dragon Ball Super (Toonami) - 1,028,364 (33 episodes) Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters - 952,088 (34 episodes) JoJo's Bizarre Adv.: Stardust Crusaders - 653,429 (7 episodes) Tokyo Ghoul - 663,864 (22 episodes) Hunter × Hunter - 766,348 (66 episodes) Lupin the 3rd - 499,400 (12 episodes) Naruto: Shippuden - 829,073 (171 episodes) Outlaw Star - 433,500 (4 episodes) Cowboy Bebop - 394,000 (2 episodes) Attack on Titan Season 2 Rerun - 365,625 (8 episodes) Adults 18-49 Dragon Ball Super (Prime Time Premieres) - 411,688 (31 episodes) Dragon Ball Super (Toonami) - 622,242 (32 episodes) Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters - 574,647 (32 episodes) JoJo's Bizarre Adv.: Stardust Crusaders - 399,714 (7 episodes) Tokyo Ghoul - 404,955 (22 episodes) Hunter × Hunter - 457,667 (66 episodes) Lupin the 3rd - 293,500 (12 episodes) Naruto: Shippuden - 459,946 (154 episodes) Outlaw Star - 256,250 (4 episodes) Cowboy Bebop - 217,500 (2 episodes) Attack on Titan Season 2 Rerun - 237,375 (8 episodes) Adults 18-34 (Estimated) Dragon Ball Super (Prime Time Premieres) - 264,800 (29 episodes) Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters - 388,118 (32 episodes) JoJo's Bizarre Adv.: Stardust Crusaders - 272,000 (6 episodes) Tokyo Ghoul - 274,429 (21 episodes) Lupin the 3rd - 199,800 (10 episodes) Note that due to only DBZKFC making the Top 50 on 9/9, there is one less episode's 18-34 rating available for most shows than total viewers and 18-49. Lupin the 3rd missed the Top 50 twice, so it's missing TWO episodes in 18-34. Speaking of Lupin, it has slipped back under 500K total viewers, not necessarily a huge deal because other shows on later have as well (it did actually get back above 500K briefly last week), but actually for the first time a Toonami show DUB PREMIERE has slipped under 200K 18-34! Let that sink in. But as long as Rick & Morty keeps kicking ass on Sunday, who cares if Toonami tanks, right? It got its 11-4 time frame and though it's a long, hard slog, it would be better to stick it out than to undergo any asinine schedule shakeups. Plus, we've gotta have a new schedule bump coming when IBO S2 gets here, right? Although why we didn't have those playing all along during the commercial break of Rick & Morty is beyond me. This should have been airing every Sunday night this month at about 11:45: -

And apparently SDS has a Season 2 coming out. It could be back up for grabs for Toonami soon... Also... (http://programminginsider.com/?p=19375)" Yes, UP over last year for once just slightly. But of course, Toonami wasn't responsible for any of that; it lost 35%. -

Things are back to normal this week, with Dragon Balls back in the Top 10, but still REALLY weird: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-9-16-2017.html 9/16/2017 Dragon Ball Super (8:30) #9 (+54) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.45 Estimated 18-34 - 306,000 ( 38.93% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.36 Estimated 18-49 - 462,000 ( 58.78% ) Total Viewers - 786,000 9/16/2017 DBZ Kai: Final Chapters #10 (+37) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.44 Estimated 18-34 - 299,000 ( 38.58% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.36 Estimated 18-49 - 462,000 ( 59.61% ) Total Viewers - 775,000 9/16/2017 JJBA: Stardust Crusaders - #14 (+48) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.39 Estimated 18-34 - 265,000 ( 42.88% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.31 Estimated 18-49 - 397,000 ( 64.24% ) Total Viewers - 618,000 9/16/2017 Tokyo Ghoul - #12 (+64) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.46 Estimated 18-34 - 313,000 ( 46.23% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.33 Estimated 18-49 - 423,000 ( 62.48% ) Total Viewers - 677,000 9/16/2017 Lupin the 3rd - #33 (+58) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.26 Estimated 18-34 - 177,000 ( 36.20% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.21 Estimated 18-49 - 269,000 ( 55.01% ) Total Viewers - 489,000 Yes, that happened. DBS at 8:30 finally beat DBZKFC, and Tokyo Ghoul actually beat JoJo: Stardust Crusaders in Adults 18-49 and total viewers, plus not only WON THE NIGHT in 18-34 among Adult Swim/Toonami's originals but was #2 in Males 12-34 across all cable, EVEN COLLEGE FOOTBALL! Given, that was a really weird episode of Stardust Crusaders, but you have to wonder if they're actually considering premiering Gundam IBO S2 at Midnight after all. Or maybe that was just an especially bangin' episode of Tokyo Ghoul? Considering it was the one in which One-Eyed Owl Yoshimura met his end, I'd have to say probably both! -
The year 2016 only contained 14 series/movies on Toonami TV: DBZ Kai; Akame ga KILL!; Parasyte; Samurai Champloo; Naruto: Shippuden; One Piece; KILL la KILL; Dimension W; Hunter x Hunter; Gundam IBO; One-Punch Man; JoJo's Bizarre Adventure; Intruder III; and Children Who Chase lost voices. These 14 shows/movies were all a different franchise. Has 2017 turned up the variety? Let's see... 1. Dragon Ball Super (1/7/17) 2. Dragon Ball Z Kai: Final Chapters (1/7/17) 3. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (1/7/17) 4. Gundam Unicorn (1/7/17) 5. Hunter x Hunter (1/7/17) 6. Naruto: Shippuden (1/7/17) 7. One Piece (1/7/17) 8. One-Punch Man (1/7/17) 9. Ghost In The Shell (2/4/17, replaced OPM) 10. Samurai Jack (3/11/17, expansion show) 11. Sand Whale & Me (3/18/17, microseries) 12. Tokyo Ghoul (3/25/17, replaced OP) 13. Attack on Titan Season 2 (4/22/17, replaced JJBA) 14. Lupin the 3rd (6/17/17, replaced GU) 15. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders (7/29/17, replaced AOTS2 premieres) 16. Outlaw Star (8/19/17, replaced GITS) 17. Cowboy Bebop (9/9/17, expansion show) 18. Gundam IBO Season 2 (10/7/17, will replace TG) 19. Show TBA to replace AOTS2 reruns on or after 10/21/17 20. Countdown (11/4/17, microseries) And considering we might get another movie/OVA special for the DST hour on November 4th, that would be 21 total movies/series, or 50% more variety than last year! Then again, having a longer block helps with that, and since Dragon Ball, JoJo, and Gundam actually had 2 series each on the block, that would reduce it to 18 total franchises. Still more than last year! The last 11 months of 2015 only contained 13 series, as Toonami contracted to its 3.5-hour format which prevailed for almost the next 2 years, but January adds 6 more series, making 2016 Toonami's least diverse year to date. Toonami's variety hit its grandest year in 2014, with 33 different franchises and a 6.5-hour block, but this year is close.

Toonami Weekly Marathon Stream 2017 Archive & Updates
OwlChemist81 replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
This week's selection is Tokyo Ghoul, which with the upcoming finale of Root A, kinda makes sense. Right now it's obviously episodes 1-5, but hopefully this Wednesday night it will shift to episodes 6-10, which almost brings us up to Root A. Forgot about the quest to get a mask to hide ghoulish eyes, and the ghouliseum? Well, this is your lucky day; the Ghouls have come out to play! Edit: no advance for Tokyo Ghoul tonight. Still stuck on episodes 1-5. It could happen tomorrow night but it's also been several weeks since we've had a Wednesday stream advance! Given that the last time it happened was with Dragon Ball Super around the 2-year anniversary of the Stream, I fear it may not happen anymore. -
Bebops back. Toonami expands to 4:00 AM
OwlChemist81 replied to brianycpht's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
I have a feeling Attack on Titan S2 will be replaced by FLCL S1. The only problem with that is the last week for AOTS2 is October 14th, meaning October 21st is when FLCL would begin. If FLCL 2 was coming January 6, 2108, something else would need to replace FLCL S1 before S2 took over, or maybe FLCL S1 could just run twice? Also, would marathons extend to 3:30 or not? So far only one has this year: Samurai Jack. It would probably make no sense to have 1 episode of AOT S2's replacement at 3:30 AM on October 21st, and then cut to Marathon on Oct. 28th, so I think that if there's a marathon on Oct. 28 for Saturday before Halloween (most likely JoJo), it will likely go 11-3:30, and AOT S2's replacement will still play at 3:30 AM that night, but would that be the case the next week? Will we get a special for the bonus hour on Daylight Savings Time's end on November 4th? It would be neat if somehow Toonami could play a one-off 30-minute special at 3:30 AM on Oct. 21st (no, not Hellsing, as that would also need to take Cowboy Bebop's timeslot), run 10 episodes for the marathon on Oct. 28th, and then have a special on Nov. 4th before bringing out a new classic show on Nov. 11th! That would also be a perfect timeslot for FLCL S1, as it would get 3 episodes in November and 3 episodes in December before full-night marathons on December 23rd and 30th. But what would those marathons be? Is there enough "stuff" on Toonami to fill all those marathon timeslots? I think so: Oct. 28: JJBA: Stardust Crusaders (1-9 or 4-12) Nov. 25: Outlaw Star (1-9, 3-11 (depending upon special on 11/4) or 4-12) Dec. 23: Gundam IBO #26-#34 (IF 3:30 different) or (hell, why not?) Lupin Dec. 30: Lupin (if not used previous week), or practically anything else but JoJo, OS, or Gundam IBO! -
Toonami's Most Discussed on the UEMB

But 10 per page is the default, right? If so, duly noted. If not, I'll change my # of posts per page to the default. -
Retroactively starting last week (9/9/17) and going forward for "normal" non-Marathon weeks, I will now begin counting down the most discussed new shows (11 PM-3 AM) on Toonami! Why is this discussion so dead? JoJo almost made it to 20? Maybe because if this were on Toonami in 2013, we'd care about it, but in 2017, it kinda feels too little too late? But I like what the pain arc has been so far so that can't be it... -
Wow, looks like Lupin dodged a bullet, and so did Nix!
