  1. Nice reference to something that actually happened in JoJo!
  2. I think a Black Clover marathon would be OK, especially if it keeps growing its audience in 2018. ADULTS 18-49 - Rating Viewers (Est.) Retention 10:30 PM Dragon Ball Super 0.54 697,000 11:00 PM DBZ Kai: FC 0.48 620,000 (88.89%) 11:30 PM Black Clover 0.37 478,000 (77.08%) 12:00 AM JJBA: S. Crusaders 0.30 387,000 (81.08%) 12:30 AM Gundam IBO S2 0.23 297,000 (76.67%) 1:00 AM Hunter × Hunter 0.21 271,000 (91.30%) 1:30 AM Lupin The 3rd 0.19 246,000 (90.48%) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden 0.21 271,000 (110.53%) 2:30 AM Outlaw Star HD 0.19 246,000 (90.48%) 3:00 AM Cowboy Bebop HD 0.17 220,000 (89.47%) 3:30 AM GITS: SAC 2nd Gig 0.17 220,000 (100.00%) ADULTS 18-49 AVERAGE - 0.25 359,364 That's the highest yet in December, but it still falls short of the DBZ Kai marathon on 11/25. Oh well.
  3. ShowBuzzDaily updated, so now we know... TOTAL VIEWERS RETENTION 10:30 PM Dragon Ball Super 1,236,000 11:00 PM DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters 1,103,000 (89.24%) 11:30 PM Black Clover 836,000 (75.79%) 12:00 AM JJBA: Stardust Crusaders 617,000 (73.80%) 12:30 AM Gundam IBO S2 501,000 (81.20%) 1:00 AM Hunter × Hunter 468,000 (93.41%) 1:30 AM Lupin The 3rd 422,000 (90.17%) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden 437,000 (103.55%) 2:30 AM Outlaw Star HD 384,000 (87.87%) 3:00 AM Cowboy Bebop HD 340,000 (88.54%) 3:30 AM GITS: SAC 2nd Gig 303,000 (89.12%) TOONAMI TOTAL VIEWERS AVERAGE - 604,273 Hopefully that won't break the mobile view... Edit: it didn't! Cool!! Shippuden is retention champ, while Black Clover and JoJo are retention chumps. Believe it or not, even starting out almost 2x as high, this average is STILL slightly lower than the DBZ Kai marathon on 11/25!
  4. As long as Black Clover's numbers continue to increase, I wouldn't vilify it so much. But if it kicks off 2018 with a thud back to numbers comparable to 12/2 while JoJo stays flat, that might be an issue.
  5. Final ratings report of 2017, and despite GREAT gains before midnight, after midnight I'm afraid it's business as usual: www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-12-16-2017.html Because my long tables completely break the page on mobile, I won't be posting one, at least not yet. If this stays on Page 55, which is already broken, I might. Ahhh, what the hell... 12/16/2017 Total Viewers Adults 18-34 Adults 18-49 Time Show People Retention Rating Estimate Retention Rating Estimate Retention Rank RankChg 10:30 PM Dragon Ball Super 1,236,000 N/A 0.66 449,000 N/A 0.54 692,000 N/A #9 -3 11:00 PM Dragon Ball Z Kai: Final Chapters 1,103,000 89.24% 0.61 415,000 92.42% 0.48 615,000 88.89% #12 -5 11:30 PM Black Clover 836,000 75.79% 0.44 299,000 72.13% 0.37 474,000 77.08% #15 -1 12:00 AM JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders 617,000 73.80% 0.37 251,000 84.09% 0.30 385,000 81.08% #20 -1 12:30 AM Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans 501,000 81.20% 0.30 204,000 81.08% 0.23 295,000 76.67% #31 -5 1:30 AM Lupin The 3rd 422,000 84.23% 0.23 156,000 76.67% 0.19 244,000 82.61% #45 -11 Though it DOES go without saying I'll be finding a new way to display this data in the new year. Anyway, FWIW, over normal lineups, December has been a pretty big success, and not counting the marathon, DBS' average in 2017 shall indeed be over a million. And DBZ Kai has just proven it MIGHT still have it in 2018. Plus Black Clover has only grown its audience by the week; let's see if THAT continues into 2018. While the rest of the known part of the lineup was effectively lower in total viewers, in some of the key demographics for JoJo and Gundam, this lineup was a marked improvement over last week, despite the fact that everything was ranked lower. I blame the NFL for that, which monopolized the Top 7 slots and produced a Walking Dead or Game of Thrones-like effect and belittled almost everything else, including the lineup of lower-tier Bowl games on ESPN! Well, I guess "TNF" needed better ratings to stay marketable...
  6. The next-to-last weekly marathon of 2017 is Lupin the 3rd Part IV, and it looks like we're just gonna skip episodes 6-10 and go right to 11-15. So you'll get the HILARIOUS Miss Doubtfire-esque episode where Lupin tries to date both Rebecca and Fujiko at the same time, the trippy, action-packed Dream of Italy 2-parter, the time Lupin almost starved himself to death(--or did he?), and an interesting mystery involving the Mona Lisa and the resurrection of its creator! So get warm and cozy by the fire with Lupin the 3rd this week!
  7. I actually don't think he died; he was just knocked unconscious or something.
  8. That's gotta be a mistake...or is it? Is that episode 14? NO wait, that's gotta be 16. But I'm sure it won't stand.
  9. I'm still watching the Bebop/GITS hour as long as I can hold my eyes open. Goodnight Julia in Jupiter Jizz is a perfect lullaby though.
  10. Boy am I GLAD that one didn't end on a cliffhanger!
  11. I'm doing great in terms of staying up for all the shows this week! Episode 15: "The Seven Emerge"
  12. This ending reminds me of Durarara!! for some reason...
  13. I think the scene with them at the altar was just in her mind, and she changed her mind and decided not to pursue him. Does that mean this will really be the last we see of her in this show? Who knows?? We'll find out next year!
  14. Ok, so I'm very confused here... Who was that!?
  15. Oh, it turned out this was a MOVIE!?
  16. Runaway train never goin' back...
  17. Well, this episode is a low-grade train wreck! He got a mouth full of leaves!!
  18. That's shocking. But this is episode 23, so wouldn't there be 3 episodes left? Which means new series January 27th! (Oh please oh please let it be Star Blazers 2199...)
  19. I get this song stuck in my head...
  20. I like Rebecca! She's out of her mind!
  21. I believe the OVA was LAST weekend. It took place in Japan so that's a dead giveaway. This is back to Italy, obviously.
  22. I blame Mari Okada. Musta had some sort of inappropriate relationship with her brother or something. I mean, how the hell else do you explain that relationship??
  23. Hey, I'm just guessing Vidar is Gaelio. BTW, Vidar is kinda a stupid name for a Gundam, but I'll take it. So now we're up to 4 true Gundams in IBO: Barbatos; Gusion; Florina (sp?); and Vidar. It took 34 episodes, but it's finally like Gundam 00!
