  1. Last time you remember, Asta opened a treasure chest full of guts...: And then (or perhaps prior) battled some green ghost monsters!! We're pretty sure that [as] is actually gonna let Toonami air this one tomorrow night... For better or worse... Oh well, at 11:30 Tomorrow night (3/31/18), join Asta and the Black Bulls, plus Yuno and the Golden Dawn, as their dungeon crawl and showdown with the Diamond Mage continues, and as always, keep the volume low! [Only Toonami!!]
  2. Oh. My bad. I'm still holding out hope that McGillis gets so power-hungry he goes for broke and tries to awaken a butt-load of them on Earth, in order to give Gjallarhorn something to respect him for protecting Earth's citizens from using Gundam Bael. But I guess we'll see!!
  3. From what I've heard, you get your wish in Part 6...
  4. The Way of the Samurai continues right through the weekend! Starting tonight and going until Monday night at 7, it's episodes #6-#10 of Samurai Champloo! Episode #6 ends the Edo chapter with an epic eating contest, and then the show meanders through several entertaining one-offs in the beginning of Part 2: the Nagasaki chapter, including some very "high" times in Episode #9!
  5. Well damn, I guess that means they're not coming back, from how you hinty-spoiley lunkheads are talking! Oh well, whatever bizarrely tragic ending this series is heading toward, I'll enjoy it!
  6. I just explained it. I wouldn't mind Tokyo Ghoul: RE(tard) on this block, but it better be 12:30 or later. [it's gonna be...]
  7. Both seasons' first 11 episodes were fine, but then the 12th went on a tangent that was just mind-boggling, involving Kaneki's bizarre torture plot and not a progression of the main action which featured the reveal of the One-Eyed Owl, which was hinted at in Episode 11 of Season 1 but didn't show up until the first episode of Root A. And then Root A's 12th episode also went in a bizarre direction rather than continuing the storyline of the new "true" One-Eyed Owl. Apparently the upcoming 3rd season is from a different manga, so I don't even have a clue how it's gonna go...
  8. I did watch it earlier today. That's in Episode VII, not IV. And yes, that's one of few scenes that [as]/Toonami cut.
  9. If you're talking about Alucard vs. Rip Van Winkle in Episode IV, I wouldn't exactly classify that as a "rape" scene. Neither party's groin region was involved, but he did "impale" her. And I haven't seen the [as] broadcast since '14, but I'm pretty sure they kept that scene intact.
  10. Ain't your decision either, bub. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Good thing the Final Four should be well past done by then. Yes, the last game will encroach on DBS but that's about it. And that's still eyeballs to Turner.
  11. RATINGS UPDATE: http://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-tbs-beats-the-broadcast-networks-combined-with-ncaa-tournament-elite-eight/ Family Guy (ADSM, 10:00 PM, 30 min.) – 1.054 million viewers (#25) – 0.67 HH (#24) – 0.49 A18-49 (#6) – 0.55 A18-34 (#5) Dragon Ball Super (ADSM, 10:30 PM, 30 min.) – 1.018 million viewers (#27) – 0.63 HH (#27) – 0.45 A18-49 (#10) – 0.58 A18-34 (#4) DBS won the night on [as] once again in 18-34! A retention of over 118%, or a GAIN of 18%, from Gundam to HxH, is pretty much unheard of. And then of course Shippuden keeps it going. Why aren't these shows on earlier??
  12. All 12 episodes, from 12-6 AM?? Sorry, but that seems kinda far-fetched to me.
  13. Pretty sure [as] cut out the tits and the necrophilia, but I really don't remember. This one got missed on my DVR and was simply labeled "Cartoon Network Programming" due to happening during the duplicate hour (the FIRST hour) of DST. Would you believe I watched the whole thing? Now THAT'S how you do a flashback. Rather than just cutting away from the main action for the viewer's benefit, frame it within the attacks of an antagonist! Bleach etc. could learn a thing or two from Hellsing!
  14. To be fair, at the time it was only pushed ahead of other dub premieres, Dragon Ball Super, and Tokyo Ghoul.
  15. Did you REALLY just do that? Just post the entire dub of Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya to this thread like it was nothing? Kudos!! I'll have to check this out...
  16. I'm all for it, especially since we're getting back into canon. Also, if Boruto is coming in to take Kai's place eventually (perhaps AOT S3 will first though), that would make a swell Naruto hour at 11 PM with Bo followed by Shippuden!
  17. Well, that's interesting... http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-3-24-2018.html The Adult Swim late-night block performed as follows: DRAGON BALL at 0.45/0.37, compared to last week’s 0.48/0.39, BLACK CLOVER down 0.03 to 0.27, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURES down 0.05 to 0.21, MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM down 0.03 to 0.19, HUNTER X HUNTER up 0.01 to 0.22/483K, NARUTO up 0.02 to 0.24/506K, SPACE DANDY steady at 0.22/444K, two episodes of COWBOY BEBOP at 0.22/430K & 0.20/406K compared to last week’s 0.19, and GHOST IN THE SHELL up 0.04 to 0.19/376K. The second half of Toonami actually kicked ass last week! GITS tied with Gundam and both it and JoJo got beat by HxH, Naruto, Dandy, and Bebop #1! Average: 556K, #5 so far for 2018 (last week was previously #5 but slid to #6). The 18-49 average is close to 324K, which is pretty cute considering it happened on 3/24! 3/24/2018 Show Total Viewers Adults 18-49 DBS 1,018,000 0.45 DBZKFC 838,000 0.37 B. 18. It TRENDS when it's on [as]. It probably only made it to #2 because of the finale. Also makes me wonder how much of DBS's trending popularity hasn't been Japanese all along...
  19. I do occasionally, but usually only in response to him bringing it up.
  20. I'm blaming the NCAA tourney, despite the fact that last year's Samurai Jack Season 5 had the same difficulty and managed to do better. Sure, most of it was over by the time Toonami started, but not ALL. Also, the Kids Choice awards probably didn't help. We don't see NAN beyond the post-show, but I'm pretty sure it trashed Toonami.
  21. We don't know that. Someone on Twitter commented that they might just play the normal lineup but with TOM 4 doing the bumps. Also somewhat unrelated, since Samurai Champloo showed up on the Marathon Stream last night, I feel it might get another run on one of the late night slots. But whether or not this happens this week; I don't know.
  22. It might be interesting if it's permanently slotted after Gundam or JoJo. But it does feel like a Midnight show. I don't know how I would feel about a stealth premiere at Midnight of a brand new show that will stay at midnight. It probably wouldn't do any worse if episodes 1 & 2 get repeated before Episode 3 premieres on 4/21... But I REALLY don't want Toonami cut by some crap like The Room.
  23. Horror, (physical) comedy, and sports are all close cousins to action. Slice of life is usually a plot engine that sets up for the action in current Toonami shows. Of the three, I would say horror is closest to action, though sometimes it's done without much action and more with suspense, as is the case with shows like Death Parade and Terror in Resonance.
  24. Interesting--a SURPRISE premiere of Re:Zero isn't something I had considered. But the problem is: then what? Would that be enough of a disturbance to keep JoJo at 12:30 and Gundam at 1 AM? I GUESS SO...
