  1. In August, to be exact! I have a theory that we'll get the Toonami announcement after the screening tomorrow. I hope I'm right!
  2. Progressive DID have a better ending than Samurai Jack, IMHO!
  3. Well, this is bat shit crazy: the 1 AM hour beat the Midnight Hour! http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-7-7-2018.html Adult Swim’s late-night line-up performed as follows: DRAGON BALL down a tenth to 0.35, MY HERO ACADEMIA down 0.02 to 0.26/560K, FLCL down 0.06 to 0.21/443K, POP TEAM EPIC down 0.04 to 0.17/374K, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURES down 0.04 to 0.16, HUNTER X HUNTER steady at 0.18/435K, BLACK CLOVER down a tick to 0.17/400K, NARUTO down 0.04 to 0.17/359K, SPACE DANDY down a tick to 0.14/307K, COWBOY BEBOP up 0.03 to 0.15/304K, and LUPIN THE 3RD steady at 0.13/273K. And it's not as bad as it could have been otherwise, also because until Lupin everything stayed above 300K. Unlucky 7/7/18 - Total Viewers Show Viewers Retention DBS 754,000 #DIV/0! 4. For a premiere, it is.
  5. Do y'all want me to start a separate Dragon Ball Super Weeknight Run ratings thread, or to just post the numbers in this thread? Please let me know, but for now I will do the latter. Here's what I've collected so far: Wow, that looked like crap--let me try that again! 6. Well, its 11:07 PM encore DID beat most of the Toonami shows in the same timeslots in 18-49 and that might be a problem, but they sure handled it in all the young adult demos! And, it's premiere was obliterated by Dragon Ball Super in 18-34 and male 12-34!
  7. Sorry, I was getting dental work done this morning. Couldn't make it happen.
  8. First the good news: Dragon Ball Super got #2 in 18-49 and won 18-34, female 18-24, and male 18-24 by a pretty wide margin. But that's cold comfort when the actual numbers are THIS low: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-7-7-2018.html
  9. Hey, that's pretty cool! They actually made a promo for the weeknight airing of DBS! Yes, I know it was pretty much just a recycle of the generic promo that got used a few times when the topical in question wasn't quite ready yet, but it works perfectly!
  10. This established Beerus was much stronger than Buu, who pretty much has done nothing at all even remotely useful in this series!
  11. Pop Team Epic topical. Man, they're really pushing this show to the moon!
  12. Episode 6: "Don't Anger The Destroyer! A Heart-Pounding Birthday Party!" This cruise is somehow both relaxing and bonkers!
  13. Ok, so 4 present connections, 7 past/present connections. But either way, I agree that's a lot of connections!
  14. Luffy's no longer part of Toonami, and who the hell is Hiel? Either way, there are 4 out of the 11 shows currently on Toonami represented on that cover. Really, all the shows represented on that cover can either be found 10:30-11:30, from 1:30-2:30, or they're not on the block. JoJo and Hunter x Hunter are also Jump, of course. So that means right now the block is over half Jump, but it's not as bad as it was a year and a half ago when the ONLY non-Jump series was Gundam Unicorn. Granted, then it was just 8 shows, but that was still oversaturation.
  15. Oops, sorry. I got Imaishi mixed up with Masaaki. These Japanese names get me sometimes.
  16. In case you care, the stream has advanced to Episodes #06-#10 of AOT. I know it isn't much, but it's still interesting to see what characters who were pretty much hiding in the background but became extremely important later in Season 2 were doing early on.
  17. Attack on Titan panel has ended. No Toonami announcement for Season 3, BUT it will begin its simul-dub sometime in August. August 4th is when Space Dandy ends. Something would have to move down, but we could still be getting it August 11th and it could still be dub premieres. Also, keep an eye on Promare for 2019. From the director of Gurren Lagann and by Trigger.
  18. Say what you want; I thought this was a surprisingly good episode. This is not a bad arc of Naruto: Shippuden!
  19. Cute little episode! Nice upgrade on the "Wolf Fang Fist" from Dragon Ball! Sam Leach, ANN's reviewer, actually gave it a "B+"! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/dragon-ball-super/episode-70/.109743
  20. It would be interesting if, for one of their holiday marathons, Toonami tried a block of nothing but shows that reference baseball! It would look something like this: 10:30 Dragon Ball Super #70 11 PM FLCL Progressive #2 11:30 FLCL #4 12 AM JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders 41-42 1 AM Samurai Champloo Episode 23 ...any other suggestions?
  21. I'll admit that's kind of a clever way to say "Reruns of Progressive", but if that was meant as an insult to Progressive, I agree with Ben here.
  22. Is it just me or did the Pillows' surprisingly metal riffs over the red tones in the sky, the menacing presence of Atomsk, and the coating of every human on the planet except 5 with some sort of petrifying dough in part 1 have sort of a "FLCLocalypse" vibe to them??
  23. Oct. 27 FLCL Progressive/Alternative marathon CONFIRMED!!!
  24. More like RIGHT time era, wrong SEASON. Back in 2000 this was still very much a pop culture phenomenon!
