  1. THIS JUST IN!!! I was checking to see if Pre-Flight from SDCC would be replaced tonight (I kinda hope not), but I ended up seeing THIS shocking new development: And I thought they lost the rights to OPM on 7/16/18, but I guess they decided to renew it?? While I'm glad that Punchy is back, it's a shame that it couldn't be a Gundam show, as they're remaining curiously absent from the lineup. Also, I have a bad feeling about Shippuden. AOT has to go somewhere, and FLCL: Progressive's rerun has one episode left. Or, maybe AOT S3 temporarily replaces MHA and MHA comes back the following week? Either way, we need expansion of some sort in September to showcase FLCL Alternative. Alternative has already been announced for 11:30, so AOT pretty much has to be either 10:30 (with expansion) or 11 (with no expansion) in September, but it would suck for its timeslot to change right away. Either that, or its previously-announced timeslot needs to change. And if NO expansion, then that means Shippuden would be going "bye bye" on 8/25 right in the middle of the 5 Kage arc before the franchise returns on 9/29 with Boruto. I'm immensely enjoying the 5 Kage arc so I REALLY hope THAT'S not the case! So hopefully there IS expansion to 10 PM on 9/1 to showcase FLCL Progressive twice, and that continues on 9/8 with Dragon Ball Super, MHA, and perhaps AOT in new timeslots. That way Shippuden can keep on chugging along at 2! Also, this new almost unprecedented THIRD run of OPM will most likely end in early November; could that mean that's when Toonami gets Season 2? If not then, maybe to kick off 2019??
  2. Spoiler fail! Also, of course I'm only kidding!
  3. I just noticed an interesting quirk (with a lowercase "q") in the Friday schedule compared to all the other weeknights: Friday has only one episode of Bob's Burgers at 10:30, so it instead gets 2 episodes of the Cleveland Show and 2 episodes of American Dad. Last week, DBS beat its Cleveland follow-up, but ONLY in total viewers. ANNND, probably more important, [as] is losing the Cleveland Show soon!
  4. Wait, what's that?? It actually happened AGAIN on Tuesday night!? REALLLLLY... http://programminginsider.com/tuesday-final-ratings-decent-start-to-usa-network-reality-series-miz-mrs/ Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:00 PM, 30 min.)• 0.427 million viewers (#84)• 0.26 HH (#85)• 0.17 A18-49 (#65)• 0.21 A18-34 (#28)• 0.16 A25-54 (#80) American Dad (repeat) (ADSM, 8:30 PM, 30 min.)• 0.351 million viewers (#91)• 0.26 HH (#85)• 0.16 A18-49 (#68)• 0.20 A18-34 (#30)• 0.15 A25-54 (#83) Well I'll be. Only a narrow victory over AD for DBS in most demographics this time though. And unfortunately, AD got the upper hand on Wednesday... http://programminginsider.com/wednesday-final-ratings-two-hour-world-of-dance-on-nbc-edges-past-foxs-two-gordon-ramsay-shows-from-8-10-p-m-among-adults-18-49/ Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:00 PM, 30 min.)• 0.434 million viewers (#82)• 0.26 HH (#86)• 0.17 A18-49 (#65)• 0.20 A18-34 (#34)• 0.15 A25-54 (#82) American Dad (repeat) (ADSM, 8:30 PM, 30 min.)• 0.557 million viewers (#69)• 0.33 HH (#73)• 0.26 A18-49 (#31)• 0.26 A18-34 (#24)• 0.25 A25-54 (#51) Oh well; that was good while it lasted...
  5. I was under the impression that one key difference between Medical Mechanica's headphones and those of Yan are that the cat ears actually serve a function and contain tweeters and woofers, doubling as speakers. Or maybe that's Brookstone's? Well one has that distinction, and the other doesn't. Edit: Voice actress of Hidomi Xanthe Huynh wore the Brookstone version, which contains the woofer and tweeter in the cat ears, so its wearers can switch from a "personal" mode to a "sharing" mode in which the ears play music. But the FLCL2 version's cat ears just light up and don't contain that feature.
  6. Or maybe it's finally getting regular rotation tomorrow night?
  7. Up now and for the next day and change is DBZ Kai, the next-to-last 5 episodes of the series. Guess that means we finish it this weekend. Edit: yep, it advanced. And then Monday we will most likely never hear from DBZ Kai again. Edit: nope, Tuesday afternoon after 3 PM ET and it's still playing. So then the stream changes Tuesday night? It's been completely weird and random this year, while in 2017 you could pretty much always count on Monday to Friday being a marathon of 5 shows, while Friday to Monday was a replay of the block from 4 weeks ago. Now it's always a marathon of 5 shows that repeat (why?) and are interspersed with Pre-Flight, but the day the shows change is just completely random.
  8. Didn't FUNimation announce a simul-dub for this!? If so, hope it replaces Black Clover...
  9. Well, let's stop bashing the 2nd season of Space Dandy and get back to what this thread is all about: THE RATINGS!! Family Guy (repeat) (ADSM, 10:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.801 million viewers (#37) • 0.54 HH (#31) • 0.37 A18-49 (#5) • 0.41 A18-34 (#3) • 0.34 A25-54 (#13) Dragon Ball Super (ADSM, 10:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.774 million viewers (#42) • 0.53 HH (#32) • 0.38 A18-49 (#3) • 0.44 A18-34 (#1) • 0.37 A25-54 (#9) SO, Family Guy edged out Dragon Ball Super in total viewers & households, but Goku PWNED Peter in 18-49, 18-34, and 25-54! And NOTHING under 200K 18-49, which I will show you later. Cool--it's later! American Dad actually DROPPED from Dragon Ball Super in everything but households and Adults 25-54, and Adults 18-34 actually took a HUGE hit of 0.05! Of course, the Cleveland show at 9 handily beat both in everything EXCEPT Adults 18-34. This may be just an anomaly but it almost seems like Shark Week took a big bite out of [as]'s ratings for the night and Super showed a surprising amount of resilience vs. that. Maybe this is something they should have tried a long time ago with DBZ Kai? http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-monday-cable-originals-network-finals-7-23-2018.html Then again, maybe the culprit wasn't exactly Shark Week, but mind-boggling stupidity across MTV and VH1?
  10. So in other words it's more like Battle Tendency. I would say that was also kind of a "stand-alone" story in that the villains are only tangentially connected to the big bad of Parts 1 & 3.
  11. I made a poll on Twitter asking which show people are looking most forward to coming to Toonami in August and September, and currently JoJo Part 4: DiU and FLCL Alternative are tied for 1st place (34%). That should tell ya something. Because this is still an AOT thread, it's worth noting that it's in 3rd place with HALF as many votes (17%), and Boruto is last, down from AOTS3 by 2%.
  12. Hopefully Part 4 will re-kindle the interest of a lot of folks who got semi-burned-out on Part 3. That didn't happen with me, but I can understand why some people feel that way. But if you think it's gonna air before Midnight, sleep on it. Best case scenario is Josuke bitch-slaps Flop Team Epic back to 12:30, but I don't see it supplanting MHA or anything. And if you think 12:30 is too late for shows with topicals, sleep on that too. Remember, AOT S2 at 12:30 was blessed with topicals but DBZ KFC before it was not. Ditto for the last 2 episodes of One-Punch Man! I feel the August 18th schedule is gonna be DBZ, AOT, MHA, DiU, PTE, HxH, BC, NS, FLCL2, CB, and LT3, but I haven't a clue what the August 11th schedule will be...
  13. Good news, everyone! The rest of the lineup was strikingly resilient! Nothing below a 0.16 18-49 and only Lupin fell below 300K: The Adult Swim line-up performed as follows: DRAGON BALL up 0.04 to 0.38, MY HERO ACADEMIA up 0.05 to 0.25/537K, FLCL up 0.02 to 0.20/399K, POP TEAM EPIC up a tick to 0.18, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE steady at 0.17, HUNTER X HUNTER up 0.03 to 0.19/391K, BLACK CLOVER up 0.02 to 0.19/382K, NARUTO up a tick to 0.19/388K, SPACE DANDY up 0.03 to 0.16/316K, COWBOY BEBOP up 0.04 to 0.16/305K, and LUPIN THE 3RD up 0.04 to 0.16/296K. 7/21/18 - Total Viewers Show Viewers Retention DBS 774,000 #DIV/0! 14. Season 2 didn't do THAT bad. In fact, it averaged on a par with what DBS did this week, which is why I have high hopes that it will at least be able to keep up with Super this time, because MHA doesn't seem to be able to.
  15. It will be interesting to see what timeslot Attack on Titan Season 3 gets, and if that changes the game. Season 2 was somewhat disappointing at 12:30 but that was a different time and it had to follow Samurai Jack AND the Dragon Ball Hour. Season 3 will probably get 11 PM and only has to follow Dragon Ball Super. If [as] slots MHA ahead of it, they're morons! So I'd be inclined to agree with you but there is still that ace up Toonami's sleeve that SHOULD change the game for the better. If not, I'll probably drop following these ratings. It isn't so much that people are cutting the cord; the numbers for Live PD and MOM prove that. They're just not watching Toonami like they used to. But one very pertinent purpose this thread also serves is to follow the weeknight ratings of Dragon Ball Super, for which Episode #15 is now available. http://programminginsider.com/friday-final-ratings-kids-choice-sports-awards-on-nickelodeon-loses-nearly-half-its-total-viewers-from-last-year/ Here's how it's done so far at 8 PM on weeknights: Dragon Ball Super M-F Weekly Avgs Wk P2+ HH 18-49 18-34 25-54 #1 453,800 0.283 0.150 0.173 0.143 #2 456,000 0.288 0.174 0.216 0.148 #3 438,800 0.264 0.152 0.184 0.132 Dragon Ball Super Weeknight Ratings Wk Ep Viewers HH 18-49 18-34 25-54 7/2/2018 1 #1 455,000 0.28 0.16 0.18 0.15 7/3/2018 1 #2 461,000 0.29 0.14 0.14 0.12 7/4/2018 1 #3 378,000 0.25 0.12 0.13 0.11 7/5/2018 1 #4 399,000 0.12 7/6/2018 1 #5 576,000 0.31 0.21 0.24 0.19 7/9/2018 2 #6 449,000 0.28 0.15 0.19 0.13 7/10/2018 2 #7 469,000 0.29 0.19 0.23 0.17 7/11/2018 2 #8 448,000 0.28 0.17 0.22 0.13 7/12/2018 2 #9 465,000 0.30 0.19 0.26 0.16 7/13/2018 2 #10 449,000 0.29 0.17 0.18 0.15 7/16/2018 3 #11 396,000 0.23 0.14 0.17 0.11 7/17/2018 3 #12 384,000 0.24 0.15 0.20 0.11 7/18/2018 3 #13 456,000 0.29 0.16 0.19 0.15 7/19/2018 3 #14 453,000 0.27 0.15 0.16 0.13 7/20/2018 3 #15 505,000 0.29 0.16 0.20 0.16 Rank (Across ALL Daily Cable Prime-Time) Ep P2+ HH 18-49 18-34 25-54 7/2/2018 1 #75 #77 #62 #39 #90 7/3/2018 2 #70 #69 #67 #37 #94 7/4/2018 3 #74 #63 #72 #37 #95 7/5/2018 4 >100 7/6/2018 5 #58 #69 #29 #7 #52 7/9/2018 6 #74 #76 #63 #35 #90 7/10/2018 7 #76 #79 #50 #20 #70 7/11/2018 8 #81 #82 #61 #23 #90 7/12/2018 9 #73 #74 #54 #11 #74 7/13/2018 10 #67 #68 #46 #20 #68 7/16/2018 11 #87 #89 #86 #40 #100 7/17/2018 12 #83 #85 #74 #35 #99 7/18/2018 13 #76 #76 #63 #32 #85 7/19/2018 14 #80 #80 #78 #46 #94 7/20/2018 15 #67 #71 #49 #14 #65
  16. http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-7-21-2018.html Remember when KILL la KILL continuously got over a million total viewers at 12:30? Owlchemist81 remembers... At least DBS and PTE did a bit better in most demographics, although JoJo pretty much stayed flat. In 18-34, DBS tied with Live Pee-D for first place, while PTE tied with MOM at 2:30 AM on N-A-N for 3rd and JoJo tied with MOM at 3:04 AM on N-A-N for 5th. (Though MOM is obviously a rerun so why it's even on there is beyond me. What is and what isn't a "cable original" is poorly curated these days, as true cable premieres like MHA, HxH, Black Clover, and Shippuden never make this list anymore, and by all rights they should be). It does pretty much baffle me as to why they won't just put the 2 Family Guys back-to-back, but insist on airing R&M between them. At least come August 11th one of those R&Ms will be 3-peat Venture Bros. instead. Looking forward to that!
  17. Annnnnnnnd the video got taken down. Oh well...
  18. Quote: So YOU'RE to blame for the drop in ratings!? Just for sake of accuracy, Parts 1 & 2 were the 1st season, and Part 3 (Stardust Crusaders) took up the 2nd and 3rd seasons. I get it; the pacing in Part 3 seems to have issues, just for the sake of having cliffhangers, when some of these fights could have taken place within a single episode. But Part 4/Season 4 looks to be potentially different. From what little I've heard about it, it might be more like Part 2 than Part 3. You should at least give it a try!
  19. Yep, it's totally telegraphing who will be in the final confrontation with DIO! Poor ol' Willy Philly; thought he might make it through to Part 2 of this arc, but sadly it wasn't meant to be.
  20. Wow, this is definitely a departure from the first 3 OPs in the series! But judging from the first episode, which I saw in a theater, it seems it goes in a VERY different direction! Funny thing is, I don't remember seeing this OP in the theater, but the animation is INDEED gorgeous! I wonder how Toonami will cut it after Season 1--or IF they even will. Then again, JoJo needs its full ED (Savage Garden!!) every week so I doubt they won't. Only Dragon Ball Super gets it full OP which only adds an extra 2 lines of the song. Here's hoping this season gets a great timeslot on Toonami. I'm thinking 11 PM! Season 2 seemed late at 12:30, but they had to play it after Jack and 2 Dragon Balls.
  21. To be fair, we wouldn't know who the hell the Phantom Troupe was a few episodes back or why we should be confused who to root for when they were taking on the Chimera Ants!
  22. PTE just aired Episode 4 last Saturday night, which means we're on 5 this weekend. Episodes 6-9 would air in August, and then 10-12 in September. Even with a Labor Day marathon, we're still on track for Boruto to replace PTE on 9/29.
  23. Good Lord, those were savage!! http://programminginsider.com/live3-weekly-ratings-yellowstone-tops-in-raw-gains-among-all-scripted-fare/ Dragon Ball Super (ADSM, Sat., 7/14/18 10:30 PM)• Live+Same Day: 0.750 million viewers / 0.439 million adults 18-49 (0.34 adults 18-49 rating)• Live+3 Day: 1.026 million viewers (+36.80%) / 0.638 million adults 18-49 (0.49 adults 18-49 rating) (+45.33%) At least Super still cracks a million in Live+3. I can hardly wait until Toonami expands to 10 PM so we can track TWO shows' Live+3 numbers--if it even happens, but I don't see how the hell else we've got room for FLCL Alternative at 11:30!
  24. But with Pop Team Epic on the block, somehow it's not the weirdest show!
