  1. Oops... Last night's Episode 36 continued the battle between Vegeta and Magetta that began Friday in Episode 35. I was unable to watch it live, thanks to Journey, but I'm catching it now, and I noticed a few interesting things: Adult Swim threw some interesting shade at the launch of the Parker Solar Probe to collect data from the sun's atmosphere, saying in a bump that more people were watching the bump than the actual launch (and asking for some space swag). The thing is, it happened during Dragon Ball Super, so in a way they were maybe acknowledging its viewership? Vegeta actually said a rare cuss word: "god damn" (I don't think it's blasphemy if it's lower case, which you can tell in type, but not in speech). I could be wrong, but that might be the first time it's been uttered on the network in the 8 PM timeslot on a weeknight. Hank Hill used to say "got dang" all the time, but Vegeta, especially when he's pissed off from still being in a match on a technicality, pulls no punches, as we saw in the remainder of the episode. Of course, last year this episode DID air at 8 PM on a Saturday last year, so maybe THAT was the first time ever? The internal topical last night was a Venture Bros. topical; there was no "before return of 2nd half" topical. Now, getting back on track with the topical of Episode 37: Just replace "11 PM Next Saturday" with "This Evening at 8 PM" as usual!
  2. Wow, we're already on a new show. Dragon Ball Super only got 6 days on the stream this time, but cry not for it, because, unlike every other Toonami show, it has a weeknight TV run. Now Toonami has brought back the Ghouls for back to school--well, to the stream, anyway. It's episodes 3-7 of Root A, which means they'll probably advance to 8-12 to finish the series on Friday night. This also means Toonami and Adult Swim still have the rights to Tokyo Ghoul. Would be real interesting to see them try it in a weeknight run this October, but 8:30 might be pushing it since it's TV-MA.
  3. And what's sad is this is probably the most "current" the block has ever been. I mean, just look at the years each show's most recently aired episode originated IN JAPAN: 10 PM MHA - 2017 10:30 DBS - 2017 11 PM AOT - 2018 11:30 FLCL2 - 2018 12 AM PTE - 2018 12:30 JoJoDiU - 2016 1 AM HxH - 2013 1:30 BClover - 2018 2 AM N:S - 2011 2:30 OPM - 2015 3 AM Lupin - 2015 3:30 CBebop - 1998 Aside from Cowboy Bebop, these days Toonami is the 201X Club! Literally half the block didn't even exist in subtitles this time 2 years ago! And more shows from this year than any other year!

  5. As for wrapping up Week 7 of Dragon Ball Super's weeknight run: http://programminginsider.com/friday-final-ratings-fox-lags-behind-a-mostly-rerun-filled-cw-in-prime-time-viewership/ Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.419 million viewers (#81) • 0.27 HH (#79) • 0.17 A18-49 (#55) • 0.17 A18-34 (#30) • 0.17 A25-54 (#71) The Cleveland Show (repeat) (ADSM, 8:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.392 million viewers (#84) • 0.27 HH (#79) • 0.17 A18-49 (#55) • 0.18 A18-34 (#22) • 0.18 A25-54 (#69) At least it beat the Cleveland show in total viewers, and tied it in households and 18-49. 6. For such an epic night in social media buzz (#JoJosBizarreAdventure hit #3, obliterating #LivePD, and #HunterXHunter and #AttackOnTitan trended as well), this is sadly disheartening: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-8-18-2018.html At least Dragon Ball Super won the night in M12-34 and tied for #2 in Adults 18-34. Oh, and everything DID make the Top 50 in Adults 18-49, so there's that. Attack on Titan did about as well as I thought it would. I'm thinking it probably didn't win its timeslot in Adults 18-34, but I don't guess that matters now.
  7. Oh, I was afraid this week was Pierrot Le Fou--glad to see it wasn't! I always seem to crash at 2:30 and miss the last show of Toonami, but it's that time now and I'm wide awake...
  8. I haven't seen all of this episode yet, so I don't feel right looking up its review...
  9. That is kinda "speak of the devil"-ish! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/attack-on-titan/episode-38/.134597 Rating: "A". Yep, I agree! I have no idea where this is going, but I know I'll enjoy the ride!
  10. Yeah, it's just sometimes that treasure isn't coin; occasionally it's flesh and blood?
  11. Ok, so Episode 12: Dream of Italy, Part 1 DON'T PUSH IT, LUPIN!!!
  12. Yeah, Armored Gorilla, you all talk!
  13. I'm already too tipsy to try this; on my 8th beer (and a couple tastes) since 3 PM...
  14. Here we go... "ENOUGH YOU IDIOT! SHORTEN THIS STUPID STORY TO 20 WORDS OR LESS!!!"
  15. I bet Adult Swim is already angling to pull a Bojack Horseman and pick up Disenchantment... But I hope they throw a bone or two to Toonami in the form of irreplaceable shows like Ingress and Violet Evergarden...
  16. Oh, come on. Sasuke is the closest thing to Darth Vader Toonami has to offer right now!
  17. Ok, so it's revealed just 10 words into the review that our trusty reviewer gave this episode an "A", but I'll still let y'all read for yourselves... https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/black-clover/episode-35/.132537
  18. Well, looks like the power of the Gauche Mirror blasted the overconfident Licht OUT OF COMMISSION!!! So, new arc next week??
  19. Then I'd say this show got better as it went along, but Blue Exorcist got worse? A PROBLEM FOR FUTURE YAMI, LOL!!!
  20. Whatever. I'm still enjoying the hell out of it! I'd say it's a LOT better than Blue Exorcist!
  21. Do y'all still think this is a bad show? Because I don't...
  22. Yeah, hurting people who don't deserve it IS dumb!
