  1. Believe it or not, they actually got his name RIGHT! But when he first appeared on CBS, they said he was from "Dragon". They did eventually add the "Ball", and then later "Super: Broly", ALL pronounced correctly! However, NBC only featured him for like 30 seconds, and they mispronounced "Funnymation" and "Super SI-yann"...or maybe "Super Cyan" is actually an official alternate name for "Super Saiyan Blue??" And he DID have a bit of trouble in the wind, or maybe, just maybe, some mysterious figure in the audience was to blame? HEY, POST #6666!!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!
  2. I have a strange feeling Banana Fish may actually go to Viz, which of course increases its chances of being on Toonami exponentially!
  3. I'm thinking Dec. 22 will be normal lineup, but Dec. 29 will be an FLCL marathon. I'm thinking they won't air just one episode of Gundam IBO before taking a marathon break, even if it IS just a rerun. But I could be wrong--guess we'll find out!
  4. Well, what do you know? Speak of the Devil, right?? https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-11-21/gundam-hathaway-flash-film-trilogy-reconguista-in-g-film-project-confirmed/.139780 The Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin series of six theatrical anime volumes will be recompiled into a 13-episode television series that will premiere on NHK-General next April. Sugizo is producing the opening and ending theme songs, and his group Luna Sea is performing all the opening theme songs. The theme songs will include both newly written songs and covers of famous Gundam songs in collaboration with other musical artists. Yep, looks like a "Re:0096"-style TV edit of Gundam: The Origin could be heading to Toonami next year! BTW, this is also first appearing on the "Japanese PBS" , akin to Attack on Titan Season 3. In fact, it might even air back-to-back with AOT Season 3B in Japan.
  5. Now now, we don't know that for sure. After all, we DID get Mind Game as an April Fool's Day stunt. And now that Toonami has managed to claim earlier timeslots, I'd say movie events to kick off the night are somewhat more likely, especially if CN follows suit and leads-in with a movie as well.
  6. And yet S3 is good to watch because it's actually answering unanswered questions from S1 and S2. The first 2 episodes were chock full of good action scenes, and there was plenty of action there in the middle around 7-9 with the crystal cave and the big-ass titan, but oddly enough those episodes were the worst peformers of the night.
  7. Nah, I'm fine. I'll admit I died a little inside when I looked at these ratings though: https://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-ohio-state-maryland-on-abc-in-early-afternoon-is-the-top-saturday-telecast-among-adults-18-34-and-all-key-male-demos/ 11/17/18 - Total Viewers Show Viewers Retention DBZ Kai 486,000 AOT #38 309,000 63.58% AOT #39 276,000 89.32% AOT #40 258,000 93.48% AOT #41 269,000 104.26% AOT #42 278,000 103.35% AOT #43 241,000 86.69% AOT #44 251,000 104.15% AOT #45 251,000 100.00% AOT #46 280,000 111.55% AOT #47 238,000 85.00% AOT #48 248,000 104.20% AOT #49 233,000 93.95% Jack 217,000 93.13% AVERAGE 273,929 Dead Last 11/17/18 - Adults 18-49 Show Viewers Retention DBZ Kai 223,000 AOT #38 147,000 65.92% AOT #39 134,000 91.16% AOT #40 132,000 98.51% AOT #41 149,000 112.88% AOT #42 163,000 109.40% AOT #43 139,000 85.28% AOT #44 134,000 96.40% AOT #45 129,000 96.27% AOT #46 149,000 115.50% AOT #47 130,000 87.25% AOT #48 135,000 103.85% AOT #49 139,000 102.96% Jack 133,000 95.68% AVERAGE 145,429 Dead Last Awful though this is, this might not necessarily be the fault completely of AOT. I'll bet the night would have started out a bit better if CN had gone with Madagascar as planned instead of some shitty DC Lego movie. Perhaps in the future it would be best to kick off marathons with a double-shot of Super reruns. Maybe next time Toonami tries a marathon, there will be an interesting mini-arc to rehash at the start of the night. Well, at least next week we can only go up from here, right??
  8. I'm not sure that really means that there can't also be Gundam SERIES in addition to these theatrical movies. I doubt Toonami would touch Build Fighters with a 10-foot pole, but that's an example of one. And of course there are the remasters/redubs of G and Seed. But yeah, at this point, though it looks like Gundam will keep resurfacing in some form every once in a while, though it won't always be on the schedule either.
  9. Gundam Origin in series form would be great and you know it!! Actually, Gundam IBO Season 2 was by far the lowest rated of the 3 Gundam seasons they've acquired in '16 and '17, but it's the only one they still have the rights to for much longer.
  10. That might actually be a responsible show for Toonami to air!!
  11. Well, guess that sunk my theory! And of course, this makes me believe they'll go after SAO 3!
  12. http://toonamifaithful.com/some-speculation-on-gun-gale-online/ My thoughts on why and how relations between Toonami and Aniplex apparently soured back in 2015? Probably has something to do with the fact that KILL la KILL was first scheduled to air at 11:30 PM but by the time it was ready to air, Toonami was losing that timeslot and it ended up at 12:30 instead. Now it seems ended up doing better ratings-wise at 12:30 than it would have leading off the block at 11:30, but perhaps Aniplex wanted to have their hot new show lead off the block and they didn't get that. Toonami later tried to heal the apparent breach by granting SAO II the 1 AM timeslot, even pushing fan favorite Shippuden down to 2 AM (Remember before SAO II aired that timeslot was occupied by Gurren Lagann, and 100% of the original SAO aired at 2 AM), but by then it was too late, and Aniplex was looking elsewhere to do business. And, that's also why the 2nd half of the show (episodes 12-24) aired at 1:30 instead. At least, that's my theory. Now whether they're able to somehow heal that rift in time to snag the dub of SAO III: Alicization remains to be seen. Toonami may really have to give up some prime real estate to get it. I'd say a 10 PM premiere for it is not out of the question if it is coming next year, which would of course shuffle the block around thus: 9 PM DBZ Kai 9:30 MHA Season 3 (yeah, we'll be there by then) 10 PM SAO III: Alicization 10:30 Dragon Ball Super 11 PM Boruto 11:30 Naruto Shippuden 12 AM Mob Psycho 100 Season 2? AAAAAAnnnd I'm not even gonna speculate on the 2nd half of the block.
  13. But Cowboy Bebop isn't even a "super robot" anime. Hell, most of Gundam is "real robot". This makes so little sense it's not even funny!
  14. Wow, no advance!? I guess they're just not gonna rehash the last 5? UPDATE: Now as of 9 PM Monday Night it's Episodes 1-5 of Lupin the 3rd!
  15. Yeah, they lost it in February 2017. They did stream the last 9 episodes on the Marathon Stream as a sendoff though.
  16. Turns out I missed a couple: Season 5 of Samurai Jack got a couple of marathons, plus My Hero Academia Season 1 got a marathon. Dragon Ball Super doesn't make the list because it's somewhat undefined what constitutes a "season" of DBS. Theoretically we are still in Season 1! There have been marathons but they don't cover a whole season by far.
  17. Seriously, what IS the "shit" count at this point since the beginning of the marathon!?! I think it's either 2 or 3 in this episode..
  18. Damn, it's only 1 AM CT, and I've had 7 beers since 5:45...
  19. ALL HAIL QUEEN HISTORIA!!!! She's the queen we need, AND the queen we deserve!!
  20. YEAH, ROD'S GOT GUTS!! Or at least, his TITAN does!!!
  21. And Rod Reiss becomes a gigantic pile of shit...
  22. HISTORIA REJECTS THE TITAN FORM!!!
  23. DON'T TRY TO FUCK WITH MIKASA!
  24. What's the "Shit" count up to tonight?? I'm at 2 so far for Episode 6...
