  1. Welp, http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-7-6-2019.html Thought Family Guy leading-in to Dragon Ball Super once again would help Toonami's ratings? THINK AGAIN! And it's such a shame because I think that episode was from 2013 or something, so it was fairly fresh. Even dumber is the fact that we're losing Family Guy completely to Freeform next year. I can't believe Attack on Titan dropped the ball from #5 all the way to #46, and NOT EVEN HALF the viewers 18-49! About half the total viewers too. Sword Art Online: Alicization DID recover slightly from there. But what about Lupin, Food Wars!, Boruto, and Gundam? Well: 57 LUPIN THE 3RD: PART 5 ADULT SWIM 12:30 AM 30 0.09 165 62 MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM:RED CM ADULT SWIM 3:00 AM 30 0.09 154 64 FOOD WARS ADULT SWIM 1:00 AM 30 0.09 155 Gundam beat food wars in 18-49, LMAO! But all 3 shows couldn't even muster a full 0.1 in Adults 18-49. And I'm not sure if Boruto just did so badly it didn't make the Top 150, or if it simply wasn't included because of a mistake this time. This is indubitably Toonami's worst week yet in its existence. It HAS to go up from here, right?? Will Toonami's summer of pain continue? No major UFC event this week, but Live PD is back from break, so I guess it's out of the frying pan, and into the fire...
  2. Hey, if I can accept Nazi overtones in Fullmetal Alchemist, Black Lagoon, Hellsing Ultimate, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, I can accept them in this!
  3. 7/6/19, counting down from 10-1: #10 - Boruto #09 - Naruto Shippuden #08 - Food Wars! #07 - Dragon Ball Super #06 - Black Clover #05 - SAO: Alicization #04 - My Hero Academia #03 - Attack on Titan #02 - Lupin III Part 5 #01 - Gundam: The Origin
  4. Cool! This thread finally got to 5 pages! I thought the episode where they finally get to see what's in the titular "Basement" deserved it! It looks like Episode 57 will start with a large flashback too...
  5. SO FAR, IT LOOKS LIKE THIS IS ALL WE HAVE FOR THE COMING WEEK: SWORD ART ONLINE: ALICIZATION (PART 1 SEASON FINALE) - MIDNIGHT
  6. Weird--the video I posted Saturday night got deleted but Elfie's horrible fansubs still remain! Of course the Toonami Facebook official dubbed version shall remain FOR ALL ETERNITY!!!
  7. Apparently we stay with this flashback for a lot of Episode 57, according to the rarely-seen preview!
  8. You mean 1 AM, RIGHT?? I mean, it would be utterly hilarious if the food network would air a show like Food Wars! on Daytime TV, but I just don't see that happening...
  9. Surely OPs and EDs will get cut from the middle episodes (2-7), but it's hard to do that with a runtime that's over 30 minutes. Might as well just leave it in and air it in a 45-minute timeslot as 3 segments of 10-11 minutes each, perhaps cutting the middle segment down to 6-7 minutes in order to throw in a video. They did something similar with Hellsing Ultimate Episode IV over 1.5 hours, padding a 56-minute runtime with 2 "extra" videos.
  10. UFC is popular, but I just can't see an ESPN+ PPV doing quite as much damage as a regular ESPN bout, which is what we had last week. However, since these days the Midnight Hour has been sub-300K for the past 2 weeks, over 300K at 1 AM would be a blessing. But we're gonna be waiting until Wednesday to find out: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/ratings-delays-due-to-independence-day-3.html
  11. The wonky runtimes are probably gonna get the first season stuck at the butt-end of the block so as not to run any premieres beforehand at a weird time. But then again, they've upset that before a bit with that Sand Whale & Me thing. I'm thinking it's just too enticing not to run a "giant robot hour" at the end of the block, which is why Gundam: The Origin is at 3 AM. But that doesn't mean that gen:LOCK is necessarily screwed on arrival like this Gundam series is. I'd say if there's going to be a Season 2 world-premiering on [as], it will adhere to more typical programming standards. We could also see a marathon of Season 1 reruns before Season 2 premieres at some point in the future. It seems it would also be a logical co-production between Rooster Teeth and Toonami/Williams Street.
  12. I dunno, man. This looks pretty official to me...
  13. I mean they aired the post-credits scene of seemingly equal length in Food Wars, and THAT was just as objectionable, albeit for a very different reason!! Maybe we'll get a special short of this clip dubbed during the premiere of Gen:Lock AFTER the season ends, bookended by an apology speech by TOM or something.
  14. It's probably gonna air at the ass-end of the block, which probably explains why Gundam is at 3 AM--for a "Giant Robot Hour", but it's not without its star power. For example, it actually contains the voice talent of Arya Stark's actress from Game of Thrones! No, really!! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=21759
  15. gen:LOCK is coming, and several of the episodes have wonky-ass run-times which MIGHT indicate that MHA is getting out of the 3:30 AM ghetto soon. Hopefully that happens before the important "S4 leader" material, but if not, there's always DVR too!!
  16. A little more about this somewhat surprising turn of events for the Better Cartoon Show, which you'll understand WHY is surprising after a glance at the runtimes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gen%3ALock EIGHT episodes--that's it. So it will be on the air in August and September. And GOOD LORD, just look at those runtimes! Does Toonami have a 15-minute show they can air? Because while they might be able to squeeze #2-#7 into a 30-minute timeslot, by HEAVILY editing the opening and ending credits, they're gonna need a 45-minute timeslot for the first and 8th episodes, something akin to what The (British) Office did when it aired on [as]. Because of that, I think there's no question that gen:LOCK is either going to be the last show on the block, or followed by a rerun, UNLESS Rooster Teeth actually "padded" the length of the first and last episodes with new material for this Toonami airing so that they adhere to a normal 22-ish minute runtime.
  17. TWO Giant Robot shows on the block at the same time? Like I'm gonna complain about that! Maybe they'll even be back-to-back! Move Gundam up to 2:30 and make 2 AM the "Giant Robot Hour!": 11 PM Dragon Ball Super (Duh) 11:30 Lupin the 3rd Part 5 12 AM Food Wars 12:30 Black Clover 1 AM Boruto 1:30 AM Naruto Shippuden 2 AM gen:LOCK 2:30 Gundam The Origin 3 AM MHA 3:30 AOT (S3P2 Rerun) I guess something's just gonna get doubled-up or we're gonna lose 3:30 for 2 weeks...because we STILL don't know what's coming July 20th to replace SAO!
  18. Actually, I think he reminded me more of Schwatzwald from The Big O...
  19. Well, now I guess we know why this show got buried at 3:30 AM...
  20. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/my-hero-academia/episode-57/.135632 Grade: "B+". Yeah, I'd say that's fitting!! Looking forward to more even if I have to stay up late to see it!
