It's coming June 24th...to [adult swim!]
-
It's a new hour-ish-long animation block that airs on Syfy on Friday nights at Midnight. It currently features one episode of Futurama plus 2 of Gary and his Demons, but they mess with Futurama by making other TZGZ-original characters appear on screen. There are also bumps with segments like High Wizard (as in on THC), Fan Theories, and others.

I thought it was a good show! Too bad AMC cancelled it--or did they? Perhaps they'll greenlight a spinoff someday!
-
Or Monkey Punch, you know, since the latest season of Lupin happened IN France, they could have knighted him posthumously!

Episode #145: "Defeat × And × Reunion" WE'RE DOWN TO THE FINAL 4! Don't miss this show's final arc's thrilling conclusion, the first 4 Saturday nights in June at 3 AM! Beginning, of course, with episode #145 tomorrow night (6/1)! Only Toonami!!

FULL VERSION we STILL haven't seen on Toonami yet!! Don't forget, the Toonami staff made this! -
Episode #18: "The Legendary Hero" Damn, turns out they're NOT done making topicals after all! I'm surprised #17 didn't get one; I know they're probably a bit overworked, but they could have just showcased Kirito repeatedly calling Alice an "idiot" and called it a day! Let's check in on Eugeo and see if he can beat the bathing integrity knight! At least we didn't leave Alice and Kirito hanging...literally!! (I mean, at least they're on a ledge, or something!) 12:30 AM tomorrow night (6/1), ONLY TOONAMI!!!

I'll give you that Gundam Unicorn is a MAJOR nostalgia trip. I can't say Gundam Origin won't be either. Except instead of a Char Aznable knockoff, we're actually getting Char Aznable! I guess that means you actually liked IBO since it was an alternative universe timeline and not part of the Universal Century main story?

Gundam: The Origin coming to Toonami July 6th
OwlChemist81 replied to 3ngag3's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
If the schedule stays the same otherwise, and if they're replacing the shows that are ending the week before, Lupin will be at 1 AM, since it's replacing JoJo, and Gundam will be at Midnight, since it's replacing TPN Season 1. However, it isn't CERTAIN that will be the case, especially in the case of Gundam, since Hunter X Hunter ends June 22nd, and its still-unknown replacement on June 29th WILL shake things up! -
Apparently, Son Of The Bronx didn't get the memo that Toonami is 10:30 PM-3:30 AM now. At least a hell of a lot better than last week! Just to be fair, it should also be noted that DBS through GMP (146K 18-49) actually outdid last week as well (18-49 average 222K). MHA lost a lot from Family Guy, but DBS gained all that back and more to easily win the night in all known categories! And SAO, JoJo, Shippuden, and HxH were also strong retainers! Well, I guess this isn't TOO bad for a holiday. Dragon Ball Super WAY down, but still beat everything that wasn't NBA-related in Adults 18-49: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-5-25-2019.html JoJo actually DOUBLED its audience from week-to-week in 18-34, and all other shows following the returning Attack On Titan gained markedly in all metrics, though Dragon Ball Super before it dropped slightly in all except Adults 18-34 and Male 12-34. Boruto down to #55, but let's be honest: that was kind of a weak episode. What's most striking is on a year-to-year basis, we're STILL down, even up against a mega-rerun FLCL Season 1 marathon. Following the "All-Night Toonami Experiment" which saw Toonami take over prime time with Narutoverse shows which are currently relegated to 2 AM, this SEEMS good, but the FLCL marathon was pulling over one-third greater on average in Adults 18-49. Still, Attack on Titan clearly showed a "lifting" effect for the shows which followed it, and of course it outdid MHA the week before. This is a positive trend, and it will be interesting to see how the block does in June once it gets out of the "shadow" of the NBA. No Finals games will be occurring on Saturday nights: While they'll be giving hell to the Jellies, they won't affect Toonami!

"Sword Art Online: Alizication - 6. Still the best SAO season of the entire franchise. I expect them to segue smoothly into the next season." I wouldn't count on that. Not by a long shot. Even if a "simuldub" or other speedy dub were possible, it would be about 3 SAO-less months before we get to that since the "Alicization - War of Underworld" begins in October: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-03-30/sword-art-online-alicization-war-of-underworld-anime-teaser-reveals-october-premiere/.145214

No one expected a ratings report today, right?

They're all really good! Most are a bit of a challenge to just jump into though. MHA is fairly episodic in nature at times, as is Dragon Ball Super. That's why they're on earlier. Attack on Titan, Promised Neverland, Sword Art Online, and JoJo are all quite serial in nature so watching a random episode, you may feel a little lost. Black Clover is somewhat progressive, but the main story doesn't really go anywhere significant (at least not so far) so it's a little easier to jump into, and then the Narutoverse hour (2 AM) can be hit-or-miss. Finally, Hunter x Hunter is quite involved but at least it won't be on much longer. If you're looking to get into some shows on the ground floor, Lupin the 3rd Part 5 begins June 15th and Gundam: The Origin begins July 6th. "Part 5" SOUNDS like you would have to have seen the first 4 "parts" to get a good idea what Lupin is about, but the parts themselves are pretty well self-contained. Some episodes will even be "caper-of-the-day" if it's anything like Part 4 was. As for Gundam, yes, it's Universal Century, and really involved, but at least this one will start pretty much at the very beginning!

Rank the Toonami shows that aired this week!
OwlChemist81 replied to Blatch's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Toonami Block airing 5/25/19: #10: Boruto - Let's screw around on a cute little fetch quest! #09: Shippuden - Farewell, Kisame, you sharky bastard! #08: Promised Neverland - Krone becomes an ally, and then gets the boot... #07: SAO: Alicization - Kirito & Alice, just hanging around... #06: Hunter x Hunter - Pure political intrigue! And Leorio's a wanker! #05: Black Clover - Nice volcanic visuals as Asta may finally have met his match... #04: JoJo Part 4 - Can Kira be any MORE of a bastard? Using the cat plant... #03: Dragon Ball Super - Cabba mans up but he's no match for Frieza! #02: My Hero Academia - MHA Cribs was cute, plus Tsu's emotional moment made for a really intriguing start to Toonami! #01: Attack on Titan - Damn, it's great to have new episodes of this show back! What's in the damn cellar? Hopefully we'll find out soon!
