Somehow, the Toonami crew has actually made Conny's disappearance in the first episode even more poignant. In Japan, after the first episode, she was just gone. But thanks to the bumpers, her ghost has haunted us all the way through Episode 6 in which Don and Gilda have discovered that she truly is GONE. I'm assuming we'll probably get new bumps next week, but somehow the fact that this has persisted is remarkable! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/the-promised-neverland/episode-6/.143466 Grade: "A". That book which said "promise" makes me feel like I'm beginning to understand where the title of this show comes from!
