    Still under the entertainment blanket, and that virtual con did have events going on during Toonami on the 22nd of August. It's a streaming service under the same corporate roof. I mean, if you really want to be technical about competition with Toonami, the video game reviews are also sort of like that. You can do both in the hours that Toonami ISN'T airing, but of course you also can during those in which it is.

    It isn't really THAT different from the Dark Nights Batman takeover back in August. It was really just to promote that weird DC Fandome thing. It will be interesting to see what their next show marathon will be. It probably will be an ordinary show Toonami decides to marathon. Also, there is actually a VERY good chance now that Season 2 of Primal IS a Toonami original! Probably same goes for BallMastrz 9009 Season 3. Then again, it's also likely that both pull a gen:LOCK and become HBO Max originals.

    I would also lump Gundam IBO Season 2 into those shows. But it was more of a Shakespearian tragedy than just an endless stream of horrible things. Even so, both halves of the show DID have their share of sacrifice (Biscuit in Episode 21, for example) as well as just hopeless death (Lafter in episode 41). It also seems to lack the Shakespearian standard of a "climax", although you could argue that the fight with the Mobile Armor in episodes 35-38 where all characters are on the same page to defeat a truly FEARSOME foe kinda fits the bill.

    If you're reading racism into this, I wonder where you're getting your entertainment. I didn't see this as racist at all, but that's because other uses of "gorilla" in entertainment are not when referring to Black people, as far as I can tell. I believe in one anime, one character called another a completely gross gorilla or something, and they weren't Black. Also, the biggest use of "gorilla" in pop culture I know of is in one episode of the Simpsons, one character remarks that "they shaved a gorilla" when referring to Homer Simpson. Also, the credits on Dennis Miller Live always used to refer to Miller as the "800 pound gorilla"--and of course, he's WHITE! So, my take on the use of "gorilla" here is that it's not really a racist term, but a reference to his lack of sophistication and/or imposing visage. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/fire-force/episode-27/.161975 Four stars! To reach the Center of All Death, our heroes board a ferry that's attempting to navigate multiple mythological rivers. Who is more dangerous--some of the dead passengers, or the enigmatic Finnish psychopomp boat captain, Tytti? 2:15 AM - Episode 6: D7#9 The ferry has crashed into the Inuit frozen underworld of Adlivun--but the Hindu death god Yama is waiting for them! Can Makasu escape the religious entities trying to judge his soul? These episode descriptions sound more interesting than we all know the episodes will be, right? Well, turn your brain off and watch this trainwreck with us! ONLY TOONAMI...and tomorrow night's 1 AM encore!

    I would say the 19th MIGHT be a normal day. It is also possible that our only December marathon is the 26th and we also get one on the 2nd of January. I would guess that one of the Holiday marathons (if there are 2) would be Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2 in anticipation of the final season, which may be coming either January 2nd or 9th, since it is set to premiere in Japan on December 7th.
