  4. If you loved Death Beat(s), you'll like this interview on the Toonami Faithful Podcast, with the show's creator, also of Fishcenter fame, Max. And if you didn't particularly care for it (like me), it may help to give you a deeper appreciation for it!!
  5. Tonight, the story continues with... Episode #11: Tsuzumi Mansion!! 3:30 AM TONIGHT (1/16-17/21), ONLY TOONAMI!!
  6. Episode 98: Ah, The Uncertainty! A Universe Despairs!! Ironically, we're sort of feeling this title as a nation and planet right now, but I digress. Kicking off TOONAMI tonight at midnight!!
  7. Man, that was gay! This show is Fire Force, not Fire Island Force! [of that I'm glad]

  12. Episode #61: Midnight Train The train leaves the station at 12:30 AM tonight (1/16-17/21)! All Aboard!! ONLY TOONAMI!!
  13. SAO also deserves one if you ask me, since it is also a dub premiere. But they only have 4 episodes left, so F it I guess! Hope it gets a final episode promo though for the Alicization arc; that would be fitting!! Hope the next show it gets replaced with is also a dub premiere. As much as I would like to see Black Clover back on the block (since SAOAWOU2 kinda replaced it), I really would hate to lose the 2nd dub premiere and just go down to AOT. But since for a whole month back in July we went with NO dub premieres (and the only original on the block was Black Clover, and somehow that didn't even count), I'll take that over nothing. Dr. Stone was not a dub premiere for its first season's airing on Toonami, but this time with only a month between its premiere in Japan and its appearance on Toonami at 1 AM on Valentine's Day (the night of 2/13/21), it arguably might be. Still, let's be real. The pandemic is still raging arguably worse than ever, and Fire Force ain't dub premiere fresh, but it is still fresh. Most likely we'll see Black Clover back on the block since it has plenty of dubbed episodes in reserve. Getting back to the main topic of the thread, it will be interesting to see what happens with AOT. Hopefully it's able to premiere all 16 episodes in a row, but if it has to pull an occasional MHA and air a previously aired episode a week or two, that might not be so bad. All pretty much depends on the news staying boring and no more damn right wing terror attacks. Fortunately, the scuttlebutt is that SUNDAY is the day that might contain some kind of jackassery from trump's loonies this week, and the Inauguration is on a Wednesday this time compared to trump's inauguration which was on a Friday, so by Saturday the fervor may have died down, and Toonami's ratings may dodge a bullet. Here's hoping it happens, because they got hit by some shrapnel from 1/6 HARD last week!
  14. I kinda felt like it was over on Wednesday, and the episode ended with Biden's being confirmed in the wee hours Thursday morning (but I couldn't sleep until MSNBC's "Final Vote" showed 270 for Biden). Thursday and Friday I pretty much didn't watch much coverage other than maybe the 3 Primetime shows (Rachel, Lawrence, and Brian), but Saturday I was just done with the whole thing. All football and basketball until Toonami time! That's typically how I operate these days. MSNBC Monday-Friday, sports and Toonami on Saturday. I also usually mix in wrestling on weeknights.
  15. Brace yourselves, folks, because this is just BAD: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-1-9-2021.html For some weird reason people were either just watching Football or CNN all day and all night. AOT alone came in at #43, SAO #53, and it wasn't even close to Top 50 for everything else. The last time Toonami even did close to this bad was with that bomb night back on 7/6/19. I think it's time to face the facts: Dragonball Super is NOT working as a rerun lead-in. AOT should just kick off the block after Family Guy and slot a new show after 12:30, but damn, if things don't improve from here, it's gonna be a bad year for Toonami. But maybe this is an outlier. It seems that ever since 1/5, news channels have been dominating the Top 50, first with GA Election coverage, and then with coverage of the horrible age-defining event which took place on 1/6. In fact, it seems that at least on Saturday, news's stranglehold on the Top 50 was beginning to wane as CNN failed to claim the #1 slot; the popular Wrestling program AEW Dynamite only managed #48 on Wednesday night, and Battlebots didn't even make the Top 50 on Thursday night. Looked at through that lens, a #43 debut for the final season of AOT might not be that bad. But I still think Toonami would do well to counterprogram a marathon against Wild Card Saturday from here on out. "Adult Swim’s late-night line-up performed as follows: DRAGON BALL down 0.04 to 0.18/232K, ATTACK ON TITAN at 0.12, SWORD ART UNDERWORLD down 0.08 to 0.11, FIRE FORCE down 0.09 to 0.10, ASSASSINATION CLASSROOM down 0.08 to 0.10, GEMUSETTO at 0.09/154K & 0.09/152K compared to last week’s 0.16/277K & 0.16/274K, NARUTO down 0.05 to 0.12/218K, and DEMON SLAYER down 0.01 to 0.10/164K."
  16. So what do y'all think this show gets replaced with? My guess is Black Clover, though Dr. Stone is also certainly a possibility. I think they'll play it safe and replace Fire Force with that though. Also out there is Promised Neverland Season 2, but I think that's more like April or May. Maybe that replaces AOT? Or maybe vice versa? It seems to me that AOT is going to end 2 weeks before Fire Force, as AOT has 15 episodes left, while FF has 17. So perhaps AOT gets replaced by Dr. Stone Season 2, while Fire Force gets replaced by Promised Neverland Season 2? It didn't do too well at Midnight in 2019, so maybe 1:30 AM would be more apropos for its continuation. Also in the longshot category is Yasha-Hime. While I would love for that to start headlining Toonami immediately and for DBS to be kicked to 8 PM or 9 PM, I just don't know if it's in the cards. Uzumaki is also hanging out there somewhere, along with those 2 other shows we're supposed to be getting this year, but I expect those to be 11:30 expansion shows.
  17. I wanna know what happened that led up to this! Did Krillin get too "grabby" and open her vest, so he got the boot!? Ah, young love, pre-Marin!
  18. If I remember correctly, it was maybe a year and a half. I do have that episode on my DVR. I started to go home early and watch Season 3B last night on my DVR instead of Wild Card NFL Football, but yeah, those Bucs are good!
  19. I actually made it almost all the way through Demon Slayer this week, despite the later time!
