  1. I wouldn't be so sure. With $21 million in its first weekend, and movie tickets averaging around $15, that means about 1.4 million saw the movie in its opening weekend, and that includes both subbed and dubbed showings. Assuming half of each, that translates to 700K going to the dubbed showings, and Demon Slayer peaked at 552K in the ratings on Toonami, just under 80% of that audience. So, it's not THAT far fetched that a large number of dubbed moviegoers first heard of or at least first saw the franchise on Toonami. After all, I'm definitely one of them! The episode that directly led into the movie on 5/2/2020 scored a 398K in the ratings, so that would be over half, assuming they all went to see the movie. But that assumption is probably not exactly valid. Many of Toonami's viewers may be waiting for the digital release. The twist is, of course, that 398K isn't all of Toonami's viewers who had their eyes on Episode 26 prior to the opening weekend either. It's what is estimated through the Nielsen system, but beyond that is the [as] app on PC, iPhone, Android, and other streaming devices like Roku, PlayStation, and Sling. Also, the truth of the matter is that Demon Slayer WAS a dub premiere on Toonami, and even though it aired at stupid-o'-clock, it really is quite serendipitous that it just finished its second airing while the movie is still together. All of this should combine to give Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 a MUCH better treatment on Toonami than Season 1. Season 1 kicked off at 1:30 AM and the 6th show on the lineup, but finished as the 2nd show at 12:30 AM. Nonetheless, it never had topical promos. I expect Season 2 to consistently take the 2nd slot if not the lead behind only a Toonami original, to air even earlier, perhaps at 11:30, and of course to have those topical promos, now that the movie has kicked unprecedented amounts of ass in theaters!
  2. I didn't see any dancing fish! That DID show up in the NEXT show though, oddly enough! Episode 10 - Food Wars! The Third Plate - Anime News Network Grade: C+. Maybe that's why I fell asleep when this episode was on Toonami!
  3. Definitely the best anime movie I've seen in a theater since Gundam NT in 2019. But I also missed out on seeing MHA Heroes Rising (which was almost as successful as Demon Slayer: Mugen Train) in theaters.
  4. Episode 148 - Black Clover - Anime News Network Wow, the reviewer dug the hell out of this atypical arc! She gave this episode 4.5 stars, and added that the story arc may be the season's best!
  5. Well, I suck. I'm gonna have to stream the episode this week to get ready for next week... ...if I'm even watching next week!
  6. Episode 47 - Fire Force - Anime News Network Wow, an episode where the Lucky Lecher Lure actually manages to weave itself into the psychology of the show and not just as a dumb sexist joke! It gets 4 stars from our reviewer. Well, only one episode left of the hot mess that was Fire Force Season 2 next week!
  7. Episode 4 - The Promised Neverland Season 2 - Anime News Network The reviewer gave this one 2.5 stars. Clearly, the quality is beginning to deteriorate, though to be fair I DID enjoy the part where those men were pursuing the children. Seems like it might just be a pale shadow of the gems the manga gave us.
  8. Episode 16 - Attack on Titan The Final Season [2021-03-29] - Anime News Network Only 3 stars? Well, it DID leave us with a lot of burning questions! ...such as LEVI'S FATE!!!
  9. Oh wow, I rewatched this episode a couple weeks ago before going out to see the movie, but I had forgotten they showed Tanjiro's CMOA moment from Episode 19 one last time!
  10. Interesting. I think the plan was for it to play one day only, but due to demand it got expanded! Maybe that's why if it's a FUNimation films showing and not Fathom Events, you should always buy a ticket in advance!
  11. We should be seeing a promo for this tonight!
  12. WATCH THE MOVIE, WATCH THE MOVIE, WATCH THE MOVIE!!! But first, watch Episode 26 tonight if you haven't seen it yet! SEASON FINALE: NEW MISSION

  19. I have a theory that Naruto Shippuden on weekday mornings may be related somehow.
  20. I just watched 5 episodes of Yasha-Hime on Hulu, and all I can say now is Toonami's GOTTA get Yasha-hime!!!
  21. Episode #75: "Above And Below" It's come to this. 12:30 AM Tomorrow night (5/1-5/2/21) ONLY TOONAMI! [It's gonna be a-May-zing!]
  22. I don't hate on Super too much, and I am glad [as] still airs it SOMEwhere, but I also feel the lead slot on Toonami is wrong for it. That said, even though these episodes are "3peats", a couple of weeks ago it was cool to finally see Episode 111 in smooth 2fps, when the first 2 times it aired on Toonami/[as] it was in really choppy 4fps! I'm actually GLAD that got to kick off Toonami, but do we really have to give up the lead slot for the rest of the series now?
