    Honestly, I was kinda shocked that there was NO advertising for this last night on AEW Rampage, especially during the Britt Baker, D.M.D. vs. Red Velvet main event match. Toonami should have struck while the iron was hot!

    Not really; AEW has cross-promoted other [as] shows in the past, since they're on TNT. Just nothing on Toonami so far. Though TNT itself HAS aired a promo from a Toonami show or two in the past. FLCL Progressive got plugged on an NBA Finals game!

    Well, we don't know all the ratings from the Harley Quinn marathon, because somehow only the first episode actually counted as a "cable original" (despite airing on Syfy last May), but the block DID still contain something that has outshined all of Season 5 of MHA: https://www.spoilertv.com/2021/08/tv-ratings-for-saturday-7th-august-2021.html ...That Poppy music video for Flux that I STILL Haven't seen! It was watched by 403K and got a 0.16 in Adults 18-49. MHA Season 5 still hasn't cracked 400K, but it has done better in Adults 18-49. This week here comes Fena: Pirate Princess, and here's hoping this promising Toonami/Crunchyroll original can capitalize on its considerable hype!

    Bob Mackey is a butt plug. Dude doesn't even realize that "CrunchyRoll" is an obvious reference to a popular type of sushi. It's actually MORE Japanese than FUNimation, which is quite western-sounding by comparison. ...or maybe he does. Still, unless you know that, neither name actually SOUNDS Japanese, so I'd say it's a moot point.

    This is the future of Toonami! Sure it's probably still gonna air a few acquisitions, but originals seem to be the true wave of the future!

    So Iron Maiden reached out to Toonami, but JoJo defected to Netflix. 😢 Wasn't there a character IN JoJo CALLED "Iron Maiden?" If so, this is full circle!

    Given that JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 6 (and beyond, most likely) is indeed headed to Netflix, Bleach's continuation may indeed have the same destination. But it's FAR too early to assume that. Toonami IS airing YashaHime, after all, and that's a fairly recent Viz show. But maybe not renewing Boruto came back to bite them in the ass after all, if having a 2020 lineup with few premieres in June and July wasn't bad enough.

    https://www.spoilertv.com/2021/08/tv-ratings-for-saturday-31st-july-2021.html Another strong performance against the Olympics! MHA took over the midnight hour and so did 300K+ total viewers. This now makes SEVEN episodes in a row that MHA has scored 300K or higher, and thus Season 5 has turned out to be a moderate success. It's too bad YashaHime couldn't keep up that momentum though. Six episodes out now and NONE of them cracked 300K. I have REALLY high hopes for August on Toonami. Harley Quinn will probably do well, and Fena/MHA combo will rule the midnight hour after that. After a July which saw peak ratings on the Better Cartoon Show soar past a lackluster May and June, hopefully it will keep up the momentum!

    I did manage to wake up around 7 AM and watch Vegeta beat Top on the West Coast feed, max-rewound 90 minutes this week.

    I don't know if this was intentional, but Moroha pretty much steals the show and is far more useful to the action than Towa and Setsuna. Not that the Sesshy sisters are useless, mind you, but they usually seem to play second fiddle to Moroha's over-the-top ass-kicking. And yet it seems TOWA won the day this week, and last. She seems to always deal the final blow after the other two, especially Moroha, do their thing. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/yashahime-princess-half-demon/episode-6/.166115 Another 3-star "Monster du jour" episode. At this point, I'm pretty much expecting this show to be middling but not completely fall off a cliff like TPN did, though the English dub DID seem to save it somewhat. I guess we'll see what it does next when it returns half an hour later on August 14/15!
